  1. I didn't say they were wrong. I said I was wondering if they watched the same game. I also claimed that I don't know any more than anybody in here.
  2. I drive around quite a bit listening to pods. I was wondering if we watched the same game. One guy suggested that Basham be redshirted for a year. Sure, try and put that guy on the practice squad. Same guy was impressed with Breida. Also trashed Cody Ford and praised Duke Williams. He also pointed out that he watched the game in 45 minutes. He questioned why Cody Ford was on the field for so many plays. I'm guessing they wanted him there. Regarding Basham....the man has talent. Give him time. Isn't the main point of preseason to evaluate talent and make roster decisions? Sure, it's always fun to win, but as one podcaster pointed out, the year the Pats went 18-0 they were 0-4 in preseason. Back in the day Marv didn't seem to do anything in preseason except try to fill the roster. Breida's runs were probably designed more to get him some action than to reveal how he will be used in regular season. I don't see him as an offtackle running back. Do you? We missed some tackles, but we made a lot of tackles. Detroit missed tackles too. The rust is coming off. Dane Jackson whiffed on one, but we all know he can tackle. It's preseason. If you're going to miss a tackle, that's probably when you want to do it. I like Joe Marino's takes. He's been on Bobby Hart's back since they signed him. Why is Hart still on the team? I don't know what to make of Friday's game. I suspect that our coaches had a busy weekend looking at film. Should we abandon Tommy Doyle because he struggled? How about we show him what went wrong, what went right, and help him. This game is a bit more of a challenge than what he faced at Miami of freakin' Ohio. One guy I liked was Stevenson. I like the way he ran back kicks, and especially liked the bomb he caught that saved the game on 4th down. Showed guts. Had he dropped that pass we would've lost the game. But then again, I don't have a podcast, and my opinion is as valid/b.s. as anybody else round here.
  3. Hell, Detroit was trying to win, why can't we? I had to watch the game with the Lions announcers. They pretty much ignored our team all night long, which is to be expected, I guess. Although one could argue that with a national feed that they try and put in somebody who at least knows which side of the field Benenoch was on....they thought he was playing linebacker. Wildgoose got burned a couple times, but I think he'll be okay. Our OL in the second half wasn't good at all. But let's keep in mind all the missing starters. We barely threw downfield at all till the end. Think Josh will dink and doink all night? Great to see them on the field. Fromm was playing his first game in 2 years, and didn't really practice at all last year. Other than getting buried by the pass rush, I thought he looked pretty good. He completed his first pass as a pro. That's pretty cool.
  4. Let's see how he does this year. He played hurt last year, and Star wasn't on the field at all. He's a superior athlete, and this year will establish his value.
  5. Halftime at the Super Bowl is way too long. During regular season and playoffs, it's about 12 minutes. Teams have more time than ever to make adjustments. And if you're ahead, why make adjustments? Look what happened to Atlanta when they were killing New England. They were so far ahead they didn't need any adjustments. Mean time, New England changed everything and won the game.
  6. Lots of great competition. I'm actually pretty stoked about the RB situation. I looked at highlights from last year, and both Singletary and Moss had some excellent moments. When they failed it seems like it may have been the blocking scheme. But, especially Singletary, who his trainer says is a couple tenths faster now, could blow up this year. Breida is one of the fastest guys in the league. Moss seems healthy and has a great attitude. I think Daboll is having some fun putting some new plays in the book taking advantage of these players. The key to the DB success is probably more related to the pressure the line puts on the QB.
  7. I love when he at times looks like he's going to toss it to the defender, but then simply hands it to the ref. This guy was great, and I nearly forgot about him. Thanks for sharing.
  8. To me they were huge memories. I was at both games, and when the MNF game was brought up, I immediately thought of the 77 second game. I was listening to a pod the other day when Bills fans were asked to call in with their "best plays they had ever seen in person," I thought about the MNF game and Nate Odomes' block/Biscuit's return vs. Denver. Nobody called in with either of those. That was fresh in my memory. I am absolutely thrilled that the MNF game was posted here. It was the greatest. Whether or not the 77 second clip is irrelevant to you, well, that's a bit nitpicky. I was sharing a great memory. I cannot make a case that it belongs here, but it still was a great moment in our history. As far as the thread about the 77 second miracle, I guess I missed that. Tell you what. I'll delete my post about the 77 second miracle. If that makes you feel more comfortable and is less intrusive, so be it. I watched both clips and enjoyed them.
  9. Unbelievable game. I totally lost my voice. Drove in from Geneseo with some friends. What a game.
  10. Obada has not been brought up in discussions about the improvements in our DL. It's like he's being ignored a bit. He may just be the X factor this team needed. He sounds like a beast, and he did a lot of damage in 39% of the snaps in Carolina. I see him as being disruptive and dangerous. I am looking forward to watching him knock people over on the way to the QB.
  11. Couldn't find any. But that's the kind of player he is cut out to be. He takes on blockers and lets others make tackles. He looks like he's lost weight, but might be quicker off the ball. I'm glad he's back. There is some tape on youtube in which a guy breaks down Star's role with the Panthers. I trust that the coaches will put him to good use and that will certainly help the run defense.
  12. He worked extremely hard this offseason. He wants to become a better back. What's wrong with that? Let's see how this plays out. I don't quite understand 10 pages of much criticism of a guy who is doing this to improve.
  13. I heard Trapasso on Joe Marino's podcast. Marino had Rousseau 25th on his board, and Trapasso had Basham as a first round talent. Let's hope Marino is right about Rousseau and Trapasso is right about Basham. You don't get 15.5 sacks in Division I football by accident. I believe he will be a key player in our pass rush.
  14. Breida, according to some, wasn't properly used in Miami. He's super fast. He knows the NFL, so there shouldn't be the learning curve most rookies experience getting used to the NFL game. Pretty sure Daboll has worked up a few plays to take advantage of that. I saw a tape showing a breakdown of Moss and Singletary. I think they both have talent. Singletary has gone nuts this offseason to improve his strength. He is faster than his measured 40. Moss played hurt most of the year. Let us also keep in mind that we are a pretty good passing team. Maybe we use the pass to set up the run. The run game runs down the clock. I'd rather have Rousseau than Etienne. We needed pass rush help more than we needed another RB. Technically three words.
  15. I see him taking over the Marlowe role. Backup safety; third guy in. Also, I think he'll play special teams. Apparently he is a good tackler.
  16. I hear a lot about how the Bills are building for the future, and that nobody from this year will start. I agree with the first half of that. However, I do believe that you'll see Rousseau and Basham on the field as part of the rotation. They're super talented athletes that excelled playing college football. They'll play. They're about 10 years younger than Addison and Hughes. I also thought that Epenesa had some pretty good plays last year, and expect them to find his correct weight and put him in quite a bit. I believe that Stevenson will be our kick returner. However, in college he was a punt catcher like Chris Watson. He had four punt catches for zero yards. I heard some dude on a podcast criticizing the Bills for taking Brown and Doyle because they played for smaller schools. In the next breath he suggested they should have taken Meinerz.....from a Division III school....and he didn't play at all last year. Look at their tape. Doesn't matter where they played. They knocked guys on their butt. That's what good linemen do. They are great athletes. I wanted them to draft Wildgoose because 1) Love the name. 2) Badgers fan. I also believe that the kid from Pitt will play a lot. What do I know? Not much more or less than anybody on this board. Still a fan of Rondale Moore.
  17. I get the feeling that Beane isn't done signing CB's.
  18. Trill Williams just signed with the Saints. Javian Hawkins with the Falcons. Jaret Patterson with the Washington Football Team.
  19. There are tons of good players available. I just looked at a list. There are about a dozen or more that were mocked in rounds 4-7. https://www.pff.com/news/draft-ranking-100-best-available-2021-nfl-draft-prospects-tracker
  20. There are so many picks before we get to the podium.....maybe trade 161 and a 4th next year to move up into the 4th. We might get somebody good. They'll find somebody.
  21. They drafted him to play. He had 15.5 sacks and about 20 tackles for loss in 7 games. He's got "traits." He will play. Ofada is a beast, and this line is going to be much better. Johnson is great at special teams, so he might be safe. Maybe Zimmer goes to the practice squad. We still have a bunch of picks, and Beane has a history of signing people to fill needs. I was hoping for JOK, but apparently Beane got his guy.
