Frazier and/or his System hurt player development
TheBrownBear replied to gonzo1105's topic in The Stadium Wall
Or maybe Frazier developed these guys and McDermott is now reaping the benefits? Just saying - we consistently had a top-3 defense under Frazier. I'm not about to sh*t on the dude, because McD has had a nice four game run. -
Brandon Beane…..you have to bring in a Corner.

No. We have good depth at the CB position. Don't screw with the dline depth. -
He's only playing well because it's a post contract year. 😜

They seemed fine. I think cramps for Taron. Benford came back in and finished the game.

Just don't lay in the wet spot.

Awesome win today, obviously. We are seeing the McDermott vision take shape and it's an awesome blend of complementary football. By the way, what was McDaniel thinking leaving Tua in with all the second string receivers? Does he hate Tua?

Can we not have nice things, FFS? 😩

McDaniel is a genius. Tua is legit. I'm officially a believer.

Schefter: Von to resume practicing this week
TheBrownBear replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd keep him under wraps until the playoffs, let him start with some light contact drills, ramping him up to game speed and then, in the 4th quarter of a tied Super Bowl against the 49ers, insert Von and let him strip sack Purdy and return the fumble for the game winning touchdown. We signed Von to get us over the hump in the biggest moment. Don't want to risk losing him before then. -
I saw our old friend Marcel Louis-Jacques predicted that Miami would put up 500+ yards against our D on Sunday. Does anyone think that's a realistic possibility, especially in Buffalo?

AJ looks pretty fluid with the ball in his hands. Almost looks like a tight end.

Terrel Bernard named AFC Defensive Player of the Week

Can you imagine how dominant he'll be once he hits puberty? -

But what about all the passes that were never thrown because of Tremaine's tremendous wingspan? Where are those in your precious statistics? (I'm joking BTW) -
Jets are signing Trevor Siemian to their practice squad.

Yeah, he's just not good enough for any of the owners to break ranks. The kneeling thing seems like much ado about nothing given where we've gone since then, but suing your potential employer and then depicting them as actual slaveowners in your movie, I just don't see it happening for Kaep. -
Really? I thought that was an even matchup, but we did outgain them by 40 yards. They ran the ball slightly better than us, but much of that was Mostert's big run. My recollection was that we played a poor third quarter, but otherwise controlled them. The first game we dominated them. Outgained them by close to 300 yards. We just made too many mistakes and wilted in the heat. We were clearly the better team last year in our matchups against them. I think they might have closed the gap, so I expect this season's games to be more like that December matchup for sure.

The Dolphins are really good but we've played the Tua/Hill/Waddle/Mostert version twice last year and should have come away 2-0. We can clearly beat these guys. Be disciplined ondefense and protect the football on offense and I like our chances.

Stats, PFF grades, Thoughts on Offense, and Miami coming up

How often are we blitzing and how does the rate compare to the rest of the league? Just curious. -

The NFL sure caught up to McVay. -
I agree. The Dolphins are good, and they were really good last year as well when Tua was fully healthy. They deserve our respect. Having said that, they played two relatively close games against middle-of-the-pack 7-to-9 win type teams in the Pats and Chargers before going nuclear against one the bottom 3 teams in the league. You look up and see 70 points and it's easy to think this is the most dominant team in 20 years or something, but I'd like to note that the Bills' point differential over the past two weeks has actually been greater than Miami's (62 to 57). Throw out week one, and you've got the two most dominant teams at the moment going head-to-head this weekend. The Bills present their first truly elite test and I expect a good game.
-
Yeah, I think they are really really good offensively assuming they can keep Tua upright.

Denver has seemingly already quit on Sean Payton. Reminder that there were some here calling for McDermott to be fired and replaced by Payton.

735 yards??? LMAO. Looks like Sean Payton is proving his worth!
