  1. I have buddies who used to do this every home game. Group of maybe 25-30 of my high school friends and only about half had tickets. I remember my wife getting really tipsy and not wanting to leave the party. I basically carried her into the stadium near the end of the second quarter and she slept the entire second half in her seat. Tailgating for 3-4 hours with friends was better than being in the stadium for most of the drought years.
  2. As a dorky 42 year old white guy who used to wear JNCO jeans that exposed my boxers as a teen, I approve of this line up.
  3. I remember getting to our seats and there was about a foot of ice on them. My Dad brought two Thermoses full of hot chocolate, but neither of us wanted to take our gloves off to open them. Our section all just sort of huddled together and barely moved the entire game. And I'm pretty sure the week (or maybe two weeks) before against the Jets was the previous coldest game in Buffalo history. My Mom took my Grandfather in one of the luxury suites, while Dad and I sat outside in our season tix. It was frigid and I remember going up to visit my Mom and Grandpa at halftime and my Mom was complaining that the suite was so cold (it was like 65*) she had to put on her sweater. That comment didn't go over real well with me and Dad...lol.
  4. I can't wait to read about how much Allen, McDermott and Pegula hated each other 20 years from now after we've won 6 Super Bowls.
  5. That's what I thought as well. Sanders reminds me a lot of Lofton at the same stage. Older, stretch the field type, who can maybe take our offense to the next level as a true #2 wideout opposite our star do-it-all #1.
  6. I was at pretty much every home game from 1987-1994, but one of the few I missed was the comeback game. I had strep, so my parents had to leave me at home. Another great game (for the atmosphere) was the 2002 home game against the Dolphins where Ricky Williams ran for 200+ yards and the Bills stormed back as blizzard-like conditions whipped in during the second half. That was my wife's first Bills game (she's a SoCal girl and had never been to Buffalo before). Just a perfect way to introduce someone to the Buffalo Bills experience.
  7. I was 9 at the time and there with my folks. Just remember the rain and the feeling that this couldn't really be happening, that the Bills were actually going to win the division and host a playoff game. Obviously, my parents had the good sense not to allow me down on the field, but I remember watching with glee as the posts came down. Also, I remember becoming a huge Scott Norwood fan. I spent the next two weeks kicking field goals over the fence in my driveway.
  8. The second TD against the Phins was crazy violent, I'll give you that, but he had plenty of "tough run" moments as a rook. See the back to back plays against the Donkeys starting at the 5:00 minute mark.
  9. Moss has been a thumper going back to his college days. He's a guy who physically punishes you for 3 quarters until you just roll over in the 4th.
  10. To be fair, this is a pretty brilliant troll job. He leads with a clear, solid title to suck us in "Schedule makers did us no favors", then proceeds with a straightforward argument (regardless of it's lack of persuasiveness) about "minibyes", and only drops in his "extra game" gem as point number 3. So, we feel as if we're reading the thread of a regular, normal, clearheaded poster before being blindsided by the ultimate fail in logic that makes us question our own ability to critically think about something so simple. Bravo.
  11. Generally agree, but Big Ben honestly sucked against us too. His receivers made some plays for him, but he was nothing special. We lost that game because of the 4th and 1 brainfart from Daboll and a blocked punt TD. That was a game that we just pissed away.
  12. Honestly, I'm not following your logic. All teams have sections of their schedule (or back-to-back weeks) that are tougher than others. I could just as easily spin it as Buffalo getting three easy/crappy opponents (Phins, WFTs and Texans) to build confidence/momentum and stack wins before coming into the KC and TE games.
  13. That sequence right there is why you keep swinging for the fences at the QB position until you find your "franchise"/elite guy instead of settling for the Tyrod Taylors and Andy Daltons of the QB world.
  14. I did a double take when he chased Heineken oob on that "sack." He looked legitimately quick chasing him down and I was shocked when I realized it was Star.
  15. Outside of Citrus State Prison? Not that I know of.
  16. Unfortunately, he's never had his act together. That's like saying Sammy Watkins could be a first team all pro if he was a hard worker and always stayed healthy. Or Aldon Smith could be the next LT if he wasn't violently insane and an alcoholic. I have zero faith in Josh Gordon making any real impact for the Chiefs this season. And I wouldn't be surprised if he never sees the field again.
  17. This move would have worried me 3-4 years ago, but now? I'm curious to see what he looks like if he ever actually makes it on to the field (which I heavily doubt ever happens).
  18. Nice to see another high character guy signing with the Chiefs.
  19. He throws 4 or 5 terrible passes, but for the most part those all occurred after they were getting killed and he had taken a beating. He actually looks fairly decent given what he has to work with. He definitely has a chance if they can keep him alive and his psyche intact while they build that roster. Also, how bad of a signing was Corey Davis?
  20. I almost feel bad for the kid. He's gonna get permanently shellshocked and end up on the David Carr career trajectory if they don't let him sit and digest some stuff while they build up that roster a bit. He has no chance right now.
  21. I like the Texans at that number! Yikes. A 20-3 Bills win makes you a winner. Who are the Jets playing next week?
  22. i try not to dream of my wife requesting to drink the fluids of another man.
