  1. Damn. That sucks for Lawson and the Jets. Hate to see a serious injury like that.
  2. I never met an "average" fan until I moved from Buffalo to California in my late teens. I hated those people when I met them and I still hate them today. Lol. But seriously, there is something to the notion that larger cities with tons of entertainment options or places with great outdoor activity options tend to produce more "average" fans. I mean, if we get an 80* day here in San Diego on a late October Sunday, it's darn hard to sit inside and watch the Bills for 3 hours when I could be out at the beach surfing, spearfishing or playing a round of golf at Torrey Pines. I still do it, but it makes me absolutely sick to waste a beautiful morning watching us lose. I love Buffalo, but as far as entertainment in the Fall-Winter, the Bills and Sabres are pretty much it (yes, I know we (Buffalo) have an art scene and bowling alleys...lol).
  3. Their (the Jests) WR core was hugely upgraded and should be solid if they can stay healthy. I have no clue what we'll see out of them this year. It all depends on Wilson's readiness and Saleh's ability to lead from the top.
  4. I agree. Those who are gleeful over his demise are just sad and begging for bad karma. The guy hasn't committed any crimes or hurt people as far as we know of. He might have been a cocky dude a few years ago, but he's received more than a healthy helping of humility at this point. But we all have dreams, and for many of us our lives don't quite turn out the way we originally envisioned. That doesn't mean we can't transition and build an awesome new fulfilling life for ourselves. Rosen has a lot of resources to draw from outside of football. He has wealthy parents, a good college degree and a level of public celebrity that he can spin to his advantage. So, I won't add to the piling on and laughing at the guy, but I'm not necessarily feeling too bad for him either. At least no more than I do for any of the hundreds of other kids who get cut from the NFL each year.
  5. I don't think it's necessarily all attitude. I'm a UCLA alum and have been watching Rosen since his high school days. He's like every other failed quarterback before him. For all his supposed smarts, he just can't process what he's seeing quickly enough on the field of play. Add in his immobility, and it's a recipe for disaster. He improved slightly at UCLA, but still made many of the same boneheaded throws he was making as a freshman. Give the guy a clean pocket and time to throw and he could pick you apart. Put pressure on him and he panics and throws the ball up for grabs. Given that he's not really a good team guy, I don't see any place for him as even a backup in the NFL. I think he might be completely out of football within 18 months.
  6. We had seasons in the family section from the mid-80s to mid-90s, so I never really saw this as a kid. When I went back for games in my 20s and sat in the general population sections, I'd see this kind of action fairly regularly.
  7. I think Wilson would have stood a chance at developing into a nice player if the Jets had given him a veteran QB presence to sit behind and learn from. Now, I'm not so sure. I like Lance to be the biggest positive surprise of the class. Lawrence should be good too. I think he'll have an Andrew Luck type of impact.
  8. 4D Chess. He's just learning the Jets playbook before we bring him onto our practice squad at the end of camp.
  9. Wow. You guys are tough. I don't expect my sports radio guys to be cap experts. They're not the most enlightening guys ever, but I still enjoy listening to Tasker and Brown.
  10. I live here (San Diego). Beautiful place. Now if I could just afford more than 600 sq/ft of living space...
  11. Sounds like a bad apple. Will likely be cut and one of the franchises that are known for taking flyers on guys like this will ***** him up.
  12. He belongs. I think he's underrated because Peyton and Harrison/Wayne sort of overshadowed him.
  13. I've been a fan since birth and a die hard for as long as I have a memory (1985). We've been great and we've sucked during these times, so I've never suffered from BBFS or whatever you call it, and I knew the good times would eventually come around again, just like I know there will be disappointing crappy seasons at some point in the future. So, when did I know that we no longer sucked azz and were on the verge of a good-to-great cycle? I'd say week 17 of 2018. We finished the season 4-3 over our last 7 games and Josh looked confident and electric in dismantling the Dolphins. The first 3 games of 2019 definitely cemented my belief. And that Thanksgiving game against Dallas gave me a certainty that we weren't just going to be good, but great.
  14. Anytime you can sign a 25 year old future hall of Fame quarterback to a 6 year extension, it's a great deal in my book. The money is irrelevant.
  15. Good for Barkley. Class act. Glad he was able to catch on somewhere.
  16. That stuff sucks. Give me a good Tennessee whiskey like Dickel or a Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve Kentucky bourbon.
  17. Crazy to think our best QB over a span of 25 years was a 36 year old midget from the CFL.
  18. Don't worry. We'll move up to #5 after winning the Super Bowl this year.
  19. Lol. The guy is 29 years old and has 21 NFL receptions! I'm sure he's a nice player whose reaching his peak, but we'd be nuts to keep him over Stevenson or Hodgins if they're showing any promise during camp.
