Yes. I do. Would you like to give us some insight into why you don’t? -
Bills TE Lee Smith is contemplating retirement

I’d suggest you visit your optometrist. I was a big time Knox supporter but at this point I’m done. Blocking is non-existent and he doesn’t create the mismatches one would expect in the passing game. The Bills need a total makeover at the position. -

Lee Smith was 5x more valuable than Dawson Knox for the Bills this season. -

I'm rooting for Tampa. There, I said it. I'm actually rooting for TOM FREAKING BRADY in an NFL game for the first time in my life. -

Watson will either be quarterbacking the Houston Texans or sitting out the season. Book it. -
LOL...the Fish naming CO-offensive coordinators...
eball replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
During Flores' first season there is no question Miami outperformed expectations. I was on the bandwagon and believed the Fish were going to be our primary competition. The 10 win total this season is deceptive, though, and you are also discounting just how much pre-season hype they received. Some had them going to the playoffs and nearly all said they would compete for the AFC East. As for Tua -- if he was not 100% recovered what in the hell is Flores doing putting him out there? That's negligent. Flores totally butchered that process with Fitz playing well, and stories have leaked out of Miami that players were questioning what was going on. I'm not saying Tua will be a bust -- I believe I've posted on this forum that I think his upside is as an above-average starting QB. I just don't see any "wow" factor. It's foolish to compare Tua to Allen -- completely different players and backgrounds. Tua's development as a QB coming into the NFL is LIGHT YEARS ahead of where Josh was. And finally -- this will be Flores' third season and he's on his 3rd/4th OC. Remember how people didn't think McD understood offense? Let's multiply that times 10. I am simply not impressed with the decisions Flores made last season, and it's hard to forget how woefully prepared his team was in a "win and you're in" scenario against a Buffalo team he knew would start resting people. That game made the Bills' flop against Pittsburgh's backups in 2004 look like a respectable outing. They've got a very good defense. Flores looks like he turned the culture around. In my mind, the jury is definitely still out. Very few reputable NFL people are "writing off" Tua -- but like me, it's the lack of a "wow" factor that should be concerning. And as stated above, if Tua was not physically ready to play last season it was negligence for Flores to play him, particularly when he had a very viable option in Fitz. -

Miami's biggest problem is still going to be figuring out how to deal with Josh Allen for the next 10-15 years. -

And the QB coach "will have input." Too many damn cooks and this will end poorly. I'm beginning to question what I thought earlier this season about Miami becoming the Bills' biggest threat in the East. I don't think Flores knows what he's doing. Edit: Oh, and the best thing about this? The Bills keep Dorsey so when Daboll gets a HC job after next season's SB championship Dorsey will slide in to the Bills' OC role. -

Story here. Yeah, that's bound to work out well. And the GM has already said Tua is the starter. What is Flores smoking? He arguably coached the Fish out of a playoff berth last season with his botching of the QB situation, and now he's on his 3rd/4th OC in three seasons. This division should be the Bills' to own for years.- 70 replies

Don’t really feel like playing this game, but there are only two coaches on that list who impress me at any level — Saleh and Staley. That still doesn’t mean they’ll be successful, since we have seen “it takes a village” — ownership, GM, HC — to create lasting success. Meyer is an interesting case. You can’t question his success at the college level but will it translate/can he adapt to the professional game? Culley is a completely uninspiring hire. It’s reminiscent of the Bills hiring Chan Gailey, but without the assistant or college coaching success. I actually read something from a reporter who said Sirianni is “sort of smart, but not super smart.” Wow, that should get Eagles fans excited. I literally know nothing about Arthur Smith. And finally, Dan Campbell is a joke. He is, quite literally, a caricature of an “old school, hard-nosed” football coach. It’s going to be entertaining to watch.

I’ll take “ridiculously exaggerated opinions” for $1000, Alex.

Cam Newton, NFL MVP. Does any team want him 2021?
eball replied to Nihilarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m not worried about Josh breaking down the way Newton has. Josh made huge strides this season in avoiding big hits and protecting his body. He is a weapon in the running game and while (I think) everyone agrees we need a better RB run game, you don’t take that part of Josh’s game away from him. -
How Allen will Work to become a better QB
eball replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here’s the single fact that should have us all sleeping easy — Josh is 24. 24! The way these guys take care of themselves now it’s not ridiculous to think we have our QB for the next 15 years. “The most physically gifted QB in the league” who is only getting better. -
Should NFL Adopt 3rd Place Game Week Before Super Bowl?
eball replied to Dr.Sack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nope, nope, and nope. Other than the Olympics in which third place earns a medal, this is an absolutely terrible idea. The injury risk alone makes it a non-starter; there’s a reason why the Pro Bowl always looks like flag football. Who the hell cares whether you finish 3rd or 4th in the NFL? -
Imagine what the package would be for Josh?
eball replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Teams with upset franchise QBs should be sitting down with those QBs to (a) figure out what they are upset about and (b) fix that issue. You don’t trade away a star in his prime at the most prominent position in sports. The trade “scenario” you mention is absurd. -

eball replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know the thread is about what Josh might fetch in light of the Stafford trade, but to me it’s a moot point since it’s franchise suicide to trade a bonafide top 5 QB in the prime of his career. In that regard, I still don’t believe Watson will be traded. The Texans have to find a way to make that work.- 67 replies

Deshaun Watson officially requests trade from Houston
eball replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
True, I should. I just figured that after an entire season and with all of the publicity around this issue people would know better than to type that out on a message board, which is much different than “letting it slip” in conversation. Please accept my apology. -
Stafford is a good QB. Glad he didn’t wind up in Indy.

Ok, so I am not a Pettine guy. And I think total yards on defense doesn’t nearly tell the whole story. I think the most predictive defensive statistics are points (obviously), yards per play, 3rd down defense, and red zone defense. Were they top 10 in those? I am leaning more and more towards the notion that you win championships in this league by building an absolute beast on offense and then having a “pretty good” bend-but-don’t-break defense that does well when it counts.
-
So in one post you contradict yourself. Well done. Pettine has always been overrated. The great Rex Ryan coaching tree. And yes, one horrific call in a crucial situation in the NFC Championship is worth making a big deal over. That was an absolute killer; just as bad, and in an infinitely more important situation, as Greggo’s Cover 0 vs. the Raiders that got him fired.

I feel better about this franchise staying away from the initials “EJ”...
