  1. The lack of apparent development in three NFL seasons. Sam and Josh are by all accounts really good friends, and they both work with Jordan Palmer. Sam was a "chosen one" at the QB position, playing at USC and lauded as "the next best thing" as a freshman. It came easy to him, and I don't get the impression he is putting in the necessary work. It's really a study in contrast between a guy who has had to fight for everything (Josh) and one who has had a lot handed to him (Sam). Doesn't make him a bad guy, but how many uber-talented athletes never reach greatness because they just don't have the necessary drive? That's what I see in Sam. Do I know this for certain? Of course not, but it is my instinct.
  2. One game? Look, we know why Gruden loves him. Playing the scout QB each week he gives the defense loads of confidence heading into Sunday’s game.
  3. I’m tired of this crap. Call me a homer, whatever. Watch what Josh does over the next few years, and realize the difference between what Mahomes walked into and what Josh has developed. Mahomes is great, on a path to be a 1st ballot HOFer. Josh will be right there with him — he just got a late start.
  4. Agree 100%. I also have come to grips with the fact that Brady is one of the all-time competitors and respect him for that. Does he push the boundaries of fair play with crap like the deflated balls and knowing the Pats*** organization is/was cheating? Sure. But the dude plays the game as well as or better than anyone has at the most crucial moments. It’s so funny. The divorce of Brady and Belichick has actually made me respect each more. And I now hate the Chefs.
  5. Josh Allen is THAT stinking good.
  6. 1-3 in the playoffs (and 3 pts against a pretty mediocre Bills' D) says otherwise, unless they get that 2000 defense back.
  7. What a f***ing great interview. Love this guy, love the team. This year was just a stepping stone... Edit: I'm referring to the 15-minute interview on PFT with Simms and whatshisname...
  8. I'd rather have Edmunds playing EDGE.
  9. We'll never know. But I've posted numerous times on this forum that I believe there is one key difference between Josh and Sam. Josh has the drive and "want-to" to improve and be great. I'm pretty certain at this point Sam does not. Buyer beware.
  10. Yeah, I think you are essentially agreeing with me. 2019 was likely as good as it will ever get with Lamar -- at least under Greg Roman. Good enough to win a lot of regular season games against average (or worse) defenses, but probably not good enough to win a Super Bowl.
  11. I think the conversation is still a relevant one. No, I’m not saying Lamar is “done” but we may have already witnessed his ceiling. He was demonstrably worse as a passer this season — TD % went from 9.0 to 6.9 and INT % went from 1.5 to 2.4 in 25 fewer overall attempts. Completion % dropped 1.7. Yards/attempt dropped by 0.7. Sacks increased by 6. “But what about his rushing” you might ask. 17 fewer rushes, same number of TDs (7) but 15 fewer 1st downs and yards/rush dropped from 6.9 to 6.3. 2019 Lamar was better in nearly every sense of the word than 2020 Lamar. So where is the development? Baltimore can definitely win with Lamar, we’ve seen that. He’s 30-7 as a starter in the regular season. But unless there is additional development in the passing game they are a team limited by their QB.
  12. 🙄 oh please. Smith did what he was supposed to do (block) and also managed to snag several big receptions. Knox was supposed to have a “breakout” year and was nothing special. In this offense I’d rather have Smith in the game because he’s reliable.
  13. Marty had quite the record as a head coach. Double digit wins in 11 of his 20 full seasons. Only two losing records. Truly a class individual and excellent football coach. Lost two truly heartbreaking AFC championship games. Very saddened to hear this news.
  14. Yes. I do. Would you like to give us some insight into why you don’t?
  15. I’d suggest you visit your optometrist. I was a big time Knox supporter but at this point I’m done. Blocking is non-existent and he doesn’t create the mismatches one would expect in the passing game. The Bills need a total makeover at the position.
  16. Lee Smith was 5x more valuable than Dawson Knox for the Bills this season.
  17. I'm rooting for Tampa. There, I said it. I'm actually rooting for TOM FREAKING BRADY in an NFL game for the first time in my life.
  18. Watson will either be quarterbacking the Houston Texans or sitting out the season. Book it.
  19. During Flores' first season there is no question Miami outperformed expectations. I was on the bandwagon and believed the Fish were going to be our primary competition. The 10 win total this season is deceptive, though, and you are also discounting just how much pre-season hype they received. Some had them going to the playoffs and nearly all said they would compete for the AFC East. As for Tua -- if he was not 100% recovered what in the hell is Flores doing putting him out there? That's negligent. Flores totally butchered that process with Fitz playing well, and stories have leaked out of Miami that players were questioning what was going on. I'm not saying Tua will be a bust -- I believe I've posted on this forum that I think his upside is as an above-average starting QB. I just don't see any "wow" factor. It's foolish to compare Tua to Allen -- completely different players and backgrounds. Tua's development as a QB coming into the NFL is LIGHT YEARS ahead of where Josh was. And finally -- this will be Flores' third season and he's on his 3rd/4th OC. Remember how people didn't think McD understood offense? Let's multiply that times 10. I am simply not impressed with the decisions Flores made last season, and it's hard to forget how woefully prepared his team was in a "win and you're in" scenario against a Buffalo team he knew would start resting people. That game made the Bills' flop against Pittsburgh's backups in 2004 look like a respectable outing. They've got a very good defense. Flores looks like he turned the culture around. In my mind, the jury is definitely still out. Very few reputable NFL people are "writing off" Tua -- but like me, it's the lack of a "wow" factor that should be concerning. And as stated above, if Tua was not physically ready to play last season it was negligence for Flores to play him, particularly when he had a very viable option in Fitz.
  20. Miami's biggest problem is still going to be figuring out how to deal with Josh Allen for the next 10-15 years.
  21. And the QB coach "will have input." Too many damn cooks and this will end poorly. I'm beginning to question what I thought earlier this season about Miami becoming the Bills' biggest threat in the East. I don't think Flores knows what he's doing. Edit: Oh, and the best thing about this? The Bills keep Dorsey so when Daboll gets a HC job after next season's SB championship Dorsey will slide in to the Bills' OC role.
  22. Story here. Yeah, that's bound to work out well. And the GM has already said Tua is the starter. What is Flores smoking? He arguably coached the Fish out of a playoff berth last season with his botching of the QB situation, and now he's on his 3rd/4th OC in three seasons. This division should be the Bills' to own for years.
