  1. The red helmets blow but as a tribute to the AFC Championship teams of the 90s I can stomach them for a game a year.
  2. I listened to this primarily to hear what they would say about the defense, but wow, Greg Cosell was effusive in his praise of Allen. I still say anyone expecting a "regression" in play from Allen this season just doesn't get it. As for the defense, DL was the primary topic and Cosell talked about the Bills using both Rousseau and Basham inside on "sub-fronts." With respect to Miami, Cosell said Tua needs to function "in rhythm and in a structure" to be effective. Wouldn't predict anything but said Miami is trying to give him the tools. Cosell predicts Cam will be the QB in NE***. Thinks their D will be "very solid." I didn't listen to the Jets analysis because eff the Jets.
  3. Yup. This entire thread is a bit irritating to me (I know, so why am I here) but the whole concept of “regression” needs to be defined. Is it simply statistics (as I believe the OP intended) or is it — as I believe you, I, and others view it — whether or not Josh gets “worse” as an NFL QB? If the latter, there is literally no reason to believe he takes a step backwards. He is relentlessly motivated and dedicated to improving his craft, and we’ve seen the results before our very eyes. I don’t give a crap about whether he throws for 300 fewer yards or 10 fewer TDs, or tosses a few more picks because he is taking some chances. He will be a better QB. I’m also too lazy to look it up but I’d still like to know if QB performance overall last season (without crowds) was markedly better than it was in 2019 or 2018. This has been brought up several times as a reason why Josh will do worse this season but I’d like to know if the numbers back it up.
  4. How the DL develops this season is the thing I am most intrigued and excited about. Let’s face it, that was the Bills’ one true weakness last season.
  5. That was the old Georgia Dome. They’ve got a new crib now. Oh, and I’m sorry you had to watch the Brohm debacle live. I could at least turn off the TV.
  6. Serious question: has anyone compared last season’s QB statistics league-wide to prior seasons? Were the offensive/passing numbers demonstrably better?
  7. Define “regress” — otherwise your “pole” is meaningless. Josh Allen will be a better QB this season than he was last season. There is little reason to think otherwise.
  8. I'd say that means your answer to my question is yes since those numbers are significantly lower than what Allen did last season. "Ceiling" is a player's sustained best, not one crazy good year. Let's just say we disagree about what Josh's "average" year going forward will look like.
  9. Do you believe Josh reached his ceiling last year?
  10. Most people will be wrong. His decision making, confidence, and leadership will only grow. PFF are still clinging to their (last) hope that Josh's 2020 was an anomaly.
  11. That is correct; the rankings are supposedly based upon how they expect the players to perform in the future. Of course, they're expecting Josh to regress.
  12. ...in their rankings of the top 50 players in football regardless of position. Pff is short for pffffffft.
  13. Their worst kit is the "bone" colored unis. They look like the laundry staff forgot to do the whites.
  14. That's a really big "no." Rich/The Ralph/New Era/Highmark is unbelievably outdated. Recent renovations are the definition of slapping lipstick on a pig. Sightlines from every seat are awesome, but in this day and age people are doing more than just going to the stadium to watch the game.
  15. Agreed, but domes/enclosed facilities have come a long way since the Superdome was built. Indy, Minnesota, Atlanta have amazing enclosed stadiums.
  16. At least one. We will see some surprises, which is why I don't spend too much time deliberating over the final roster; I'm typically more concerned with numbers at certain positions vs. the actual players. Last year the only position I really had any "stake" in was wanting them to keep Bass, which thankfully they did. This year I could easily see them going with just two QBs on the active roster in order to keep an extra DL or WR.
  17. Jesus. What a thread. Although around here, what did I expect.
  18. My list is in order of whose loss would impact Ws and Ls the most: Diggs Hyde Poyer White Allen Dawkins Milano D. Williams Oliver Bass My rationale: Diggs can’t be replaced. Hyde/Poyer are one unit in my mind and the key to the entire defense. Allen would be #1 but for the signing of Trubisky, who is capable of keeping the ship afloat. I have both starting OTs on my list. Edit: I really want to put Edmunds on this list, but he’s just not there yet.
  19. I suppose, although without pads on it’s tough to draw any conclusions on DT play.
  20. Sincere question: do we know that for sure? They said “sold out” but I don’t recall seeing any numbers; it’s possible they had held back a number of tickets? Has anyone looked to see if more are now available?
  21. This sure sounds like a “camp body” move to me.
  22. Nope. You implied that Beane should have cut them, then asked them to come crawling back for less money after they tested the market. Which scenario do you think creates more bad blood? You’re a goof.
  23. We have a stud, he'll be here for the next 15 years, and we're going to win multiple championships. I don't even need to see/hear these analyses any more.
  24. Were they "happy" about it? Of course not. But that's not the point. They made a business decision; take a pay cut and stay with an organization that still wants you around (and is a SB contender), or get cut and "hope" you land in a good spot. Doesn't take a lot of brain power to make that decision; even you should understand it. Keep undercutting Beane as he builds a perennial contender, buddy. It plays really well around here.
