I am confident that McD will scheme the Bills' D to control Jackson's rushing. The issue will be Dobbins and the TEs. I hope the Bills play aggressive man vs. the TEs and keep Tre on Brown. On offense, it all comes down to effectively dealing with the Ravens' blitzes. They will do everything they can to confuse the OL and Josh. I'm actually glad the Bills have an essentially non-existent running game because the Ravens are difficult to run against anyway. In last year's game Josh had open receivers he missed...he let the blitzes affect him before he came alive in the 4th quarter. As we all know, this is a new and improved Josh. Is it Saturday yet?

I think I’ll claim 4-for-4 now. Anybody see Josh falling out of the top 5? -
Yesterday was the proverbial “hump” this team had to get over...
eball replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The difference between last year and this, though, is that last year’s team was not complete. This year’s team is. Now they know they have what it takes. -
I had the feeling all week that this was going to be a much tougher game than many expected. The Colts are a solid, well-coached team whose strengths match up well with the Bills’ weaknesses. I also felt that this Bills team, for all they have accomplished, still had not proven — to themselves or their fans — that they are capable of a postseason run. The playoffs are a different animal, and persevering through a stressful game like yesterday is, I believe, what this team needed in order to make a truly special run possible. It was another box that was checked off — “can the team win in the postseason in a pressure situation” — and the key players showed up when they were needed most. I believe that the overwhelming sentiment in the locker room after the game was likely one of relief. The monkey is off their backs. I absolutely feel as though the team that takes the field next week is capable of dominating the way they did to close out the regular season. This is going to be a fun ride and it’s only just beginning.

Guys. No need to speculate; not one matchup next weekend is known yet. Saturday is 4 and 8, Sunday 3 and 6.
-
The #1 seeds do not necessarily play on the same day. It’s based upon how the NFL and the networks want it.

Supremely horrible take. Josh was the ONLY reason the Buffalo Bills are playing next weekend. That was an unlucky play and not the result of Josh playing “hero ball” or trying to do too much.

WILD CARD Playoff 1/9/21 Bills vs. Colts PreGame Thread

Good Morning, Bills fans...don’t know how I’m going to make it another six hours before game time... -
Round 1 Playoff: Colts at Bills - Sat. 1/9 1:05pm

Right. I’m sure the play is designed whereby Josh has to recognize the pressure and do certain things. To me, this is a perfect example of the synergy between Daboll and Allen, and reflects how far Josh has come in terms of reading defenses and getting his guys into the right play. The analysis is over-the-top regarding Daboll’s HC qualifications. It’s a really good play design and a great read by the QB. -

What Was Your Initial Reaction To Sean McDermott as Bills HC?
eball replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was so happy the Pegulas had fired Rex that I don’t think I really cared who they hired. The only thing I recall thinking was that I hoped they would not bring in a retread. I’m sure a part of me wanted an offensive-minded HC. McD came across as a serious, well-intentioned guy and as I read more about him I warmed to the hire. Like most of us I sort of laughed at all of the “respect the process” stuff at first, but as we’ve now seen it was a lot more than just a catch phrase. At this point in time I believe McD’s greatest qualities are that he is constantly seeking to improve, and he is genuine. -
Bills fan playoff Game 1 Attendee thread
eball replied to richNjoisy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was a season ticket holder from 1990 to 2016...despite living in North Carolina for 23 of those 26 years. It finally made no sense for me to continue and the last straw was Rex’s final year. I have been fortunate enough to have the type of success that I can make trips up to Buffalo several times a year and buy the tickets I want for games. I was at the playoff game in Houston a year ago. Don’t presume to think I don’t “care enough” to make the effort to be there. I realize you dislike me because I’m everything you’re not — loyal, likable, reasonable, and funny. You’re a dick. It pains me that jerks like you follow the team I love. -

I just need to say, I am SO F***ING JEALOUS of those of you who get to attend this game. There is no way in hell I wouldn’t be there under any “normal” circumstances. Do us proud. Go Bills! -

Harlan is awesome. His call of the streaker a few years ago is a classic. BBFS is a tough thing to overcome after 20 years. You can do it. Be strong. -
Forgotten cautionary tales of Reich's Colts
eball replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Colts are a good, solid football team with excellent coaching. Anyone who thinks the Bills will "roll" them is just feeling a little too high & mighty right now. If the Bills DO wind up winning a laugher I can't imagine what this board is going to look like next week (but I'd like to see it). -
Round 1 Playoff: Colts at Bills - Sat. 1/9 1:05pm
eball replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There were a LOT of people on this board claiming that McD would never learn, "didn't understand offense", and wanted to win games 17-13. Turns out he just needed an offense and QB he could trust. -

Guys, this is pretty standard stuff. Players are always looking for ways to motivate themselves. -
Josh Allen named AFC Offensive Player of the Month
eball replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, seriously. Saying Josh Allen still has to "prove it" that he will stay "hungry and humble" is a ridiculous statement IMO. We may agree to disagree and that's fine. Go Bills. -
Josh Allen named AFC Offensive Player of the Month

Oh, enough with the "prove it" crap -- there is literally NOTHING that suggests Josh Allen wants anything other than to win and keep winning. -

Ignorance is bliss. -
It struck me recently that teams facing the Bills have a pretty huge dilemma. Since their bye week the Bills have had the best offense in the league, a top ten defense, and top five special teams unit. A -- what's your plan to come into Orchard Park and walk out with a W? B -- even if the team executes your plan, do you still need something "crazy" to happen? Discuss.

Dion Dawkins: A Letter to Bills Mafia, Part II
eball replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I posted the other day that my heart was bursting out of my chest over this team. This letter is one of the most awesome things Bills-related I’ve ever read. Win or lose this may be my favorite Bills team ever.
