  1. The Browns' roster is very talented; I haven't heard anyone argue otherwise. It takes more than a collection of talent to become a great team, however. It's also tough when the most important player on that roster -- the QB -- is a pretty large step below the two guys he's looking up at. Trust me, I hope you're wrong also.
  2. I was about to say...it seems not many share your sentiment that the Browns are now ahead of the Bills. Edited for emphasis. The gap between Pat/Josh and Baker is greater than some realize, and that's why those teams will continue to stay ahead of the Browns.
  3. If Rodgers resolves his issues with the Packers does that mean he becomes "gruntled?"
  4. By the way...EJ Manuel 9.7. Take any RAS-to-NFL-success correlation with a large grain of salt. As noted within, however, there is much to be said for the ability of an organization to cultivate and develop that athleticism.
  5. McD says it all the time and players actually believe it -- come to Buffalo and become the best version of yourself.
  6. That was a fun watch. Couple of things struck me: - I forgot Miami used to have fans that filled the stadium and actually cheered for THEIR team. - Marino showed flashes obviously but really didn’t play all that well; Fergie clearly outplayed him. Two INTs, should have had a third, fumbled two snaps inside the 5 and was lucky to keep possession, and short-hopped a number of throws. People see the 4 TDs and think he lit it up but not really. - I also forgot Miami missed two FG attempts in OT. - The Bills had a really, really good offense.
  7. I’ll just add here that Hamlin is a very “mature” rookie — played five seasons in college in a P5 conference. Also was projected to be drafted much earlier; not sure what happened there. I think he has a great shot to see significant time.
  8. Beane admitted he didn’t go into the draft expecting to draft two edge rushers so these three days certainly impacted the Bills’ roster construction. That said, they still clearly really like Addison. Beane said he got a text from Addison after the draft about being ready to mentor the young guys. They already saved money on Addison. I simply think the puzzle pieces line up that Addison, Hughes, Epenesa, Rousseau, and Basham will all be on this roster in September, with several of them being flexible enough to rotate inside on rush downs and keep everyone fresh.
  9. Several of these guys can move inside on rush downs. There are enough snaps for everyone and having 5 DEs fresh is a good thing.
  10. Did you actually form this thought and then type it?
  11. What? Save this one for the “worst takes” thread.
  12. You didn’t listen to Beane’s post draft PC did you? Addison isn’t going anywhere; the goal is to get him fewer reps because he played more last year than he did in Carolina when he was more productive. He is also a team leader and wants to mentor the young guys.
  13. I dunno, this is a tough one because I’m a fan, and therefore I root for many players who don’t turn out to be very good. Some not-so-distant bad takes: Zay Jones caught everything in college and will be a stud Whaley needs to be given a chance to hire his own coach I was excited about Peterman getting the start in San Diego 🤣
  14. LOL. Until the Bills and Browns swap QBs and Brandon Beane leaves nobody is “leapfrogging” the Bills.
  15. Wrong. He was director of pro personnel.
  16. Great article. Amazing the ties to Buffalo for the family. This could absolutely wind up being a home run pick.
  17. Yeah, but those are only direct quotes. What did he mean?
  18. Mature kid. Already 23. Great chance to stick.
  19. I would think by now folks would understand that the Bills don’t view RB as a need. How many different ways does Beane need to say it? Their run blocking was atrocious. They have three very viable backs on the roster.
  20. I was pleased the Pats*** couldn’t get one of the top four...they settled for the least athletic, lowest ceiling guy of the bunch.
  21. First of all, nice response. My opinion stems from how different the league is now then it was when Polian ruled the roost. I’ve heard Polian opine on many NFL radio shows over the past decade and I’m not sure he has the same sort of success in this era. Beane and McDermott have built a top-notch organization that appears primed to be a force for years to come. There is also a level of internal respect that draws in talented people. I think it’s pretty well known that Polian was a “my way or the highway” kind of guy. And just so we’re clear: Polian didn’t draft Jim Kelly and he didn’t draft Bruce Smith. He’s a HOF GM and deserves tons of credit for the Bills’ Super Bowl teams, but there’s always a bit of luck involved as well. I could not possibly be more impressed with Brandon Beane.
  22. Somebody tell Don Beebe - he has a school set up and everything. He will be crushed.
  23. Who is this year’s DaRick Rogers? Inquiring minds want to know!
