  1. I think the Hollister addition gives Daboll an opportunity to add a wrinkle to the offense and play both Knox and Hollister in certain packages. They are both athletic guys who can create matchup problems, and with them both in the game it should give the run game a boost. I’d look for more 21 out of the Bills this year to give opponents more to plan for, with Diggs and one of Sanders/Beasley/Davis as the WRs.
  2. I'll give you the 2nd half of G4...at that point it's a bunch of future grocery clerks trying to knock each others' heads off. The homer announcers are always hilarious. I still remember the Bears-Bills preseason game from 2018 with Kyle Brandt from NFL Network (who I didn't know at the time was a huge Bears fan) fulfilling a "dream" to call a Bears game. Funniest s-h-i-t I ever heard.
  3. All-time Bills wins will take the longest for Josh to achieve but I don't know that it is necessarily the hardest. Kelly only played 11 seasons and averaged 9.2 wins/season. Josh has played 3 seasons and is currently averaging 9.3. Both have a "throwaway" season ('87 for Kelly, '18 for Josh). Kelly was 9-8 in the playoffs; Josh is already 2-2. If Josh plays into his mid-30s (very reasonable expectation) and the Bills' organization remains stable, Josh should blow the wins mark away.
  4. For any diehard Bills fan to say this is curious to me. I don't watch other teams' preseason games but the Bills? I watch every minute. I want to see the 2nd/3rd/4th string guys against live competition. I want to see the backup QBs and RBs. I know there's no game planning but watching the rookies, free agents, and long shots is more interesting to me than watching the starters during preseason.
  5. If there is a flaw in these rankings I see it in how the Bills' are ranked in coaching and the draft. 7th best coached team...really? They not only have very good coaching, they also have continuity. I can't name 6 teams with better coaching. I get them putting the Pats*** at #1 for Belichick but after that...
  6. Before last season I predicted the Bills would win the AFC East and host (at least) one playoff game, and that 2021 would mark the beginning of Buffalo domination. We’re here.
  7. The two bolded statements above are excellent points. Until it matters (i.e., bets are being placed) the public has no right to know this personal health information.
  8. I’m pleased (and relieved) to hear the Bills are not at the bottom of this list, but I’m not surprised. You know the messaging from McD and Beane has been respectful but consistent. I would love to have been a fly on the wall when McD or Beane spoke with Beasley. I’d be shocked if Josh hasn’t been vaccinated by now. That dude wants to win more than anything and he’s smart enough to know that a Covid outbreak could derail their season.
  9. Outdated and breaks easily?
  10. The new America’s Team, baby!!!
  11. Something tells me if Daboll gets a HC job the first thing he does is NOT going to be burning bridges with McD by poaching coaches he knows McD intends to promote.
  12. What's unbelievable is that Doyle got paid 1.1M for being a racist douche.
  13. Definitely welled up. Looking back, what’s funny is how few of those players are on the roster now. Hyde, Poyer, White, Dawkins…anyone else?
  14. Sometime around 2000 or 2001 I bought a Keith Newman jersey. Odd choice, I know, but I’m a UNC grad and Seinfeld fan so to me it made sense.
  15. Last year was an anomaly for Zimmer regarding the Viking defense. If he gets that defense back to middle of the pack and the offense performs similarly, they’re right in the conversation in that division. I expect Zim to survive.
  16. I think joint practices give coaches headaches, and they are more helpful when you don’t really know what you have on your team. If there were no preseason games I’d be more in favor of them. I don’t want to see some other team’s 4th string wannabe rolling up on Josh Allen’s ankle because he’s desperate to make the team. Bottom line — this decision will have little to no impact on the Bills’ preparedness for the regular season.
  17. No, what is happening in this thread is that you and some others are calling Allen and Herbert “clones” — it’s been said more than once. Herbert has a lot of ability and had an excellent rookie year. He’s not Allen. Period.
  18. My question was simple. Tell me who has called Herbert possibly the most athletically gifted athlete to play QB in the NFL? I've heard several say it about Josh. I'll expand it a bit: Who says Herbert has a better arm? Who says Herbert is a better runner? Who says Herbert is more competitive? Who says Herbert is a better leader? Don't quote me combine statistics -- show me highlights of Herbert stiff-arming D-linemen to the ground. Lots of guys in the NFL have "similar builds."
  19. Please explain, because I have not heard ONE person say Justin Herbert might be the most physically gifted athlete to ever play QB in the NFL.
  20. Man, I wish I did.
  21. I bet Mahomes' comments took the sails right out of Hebert's wind.
  22. The depth on this roster is clearly the best it has been since the 90s. And for those stating there are no known game-changers or superstars — well, duh. If they were already superstars they wouldn’t be depth, they’d be starting. The point is that there is a great mix of serviceable veterans and youth with potential. If we had to trot that team out week after week they’d probably be competitive but not playoff caliber. If we need to use a number of them in spot situations this year we’ll be in very good shape compared to most of the league.
  23. Good review. That was a very frustrating team to follow; they consistently got your hopes up and then dashed them. Rarely have I been more disappointed than after that Raiders game. I’ve occasionally looked back and wondered what might have happened if Saint Doug did not take the money and run. Schwartz likely stays, the D was on a roll, but the offense still needed major fixing. Does the Shady trade happen? Do they still bring in Tyrod? Does Sammie get his head on straight? You know having Rex Ryan around didn’t help matters. They still needed a QB. 2015 and 2016 were low water marks for the franchise but everything happens for a reason. So happy for where we are now.
