  1. Today wasn’t huge anything. McD has always played the players who earn it during the week. Just because YOU don’t see what goes on during the week doesn’t mean you know jack schitttt. Ford struggled mightily last week. They made a change. It’s nothing out of the ordinary and nothing we shouldn’t expect. I’m pretty sick and tired of the armchair know-it-alls who really know NOTHING about what happens each week and base all of their opinions on the 3 hours they spend drooling in front of the TV each Sunday.
  2. This is one of the greatest clips I have ever seen.
  3. Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait…didn’t McD and Beane force Ford into the lineup today because he’s a 2nd round pick? Paging @ScottLaw…cleanup on aisle 6.
  4. No pickle juice?
  5. Freaking Howitzer. Love that guy.
  6. Not going to belabor this because you’re a good dude, but (a) the Chicago streak was noted upthread; and (b) referencing the streak since the league merged into its current form is, I think, more relevant. Cheers.
  7. The Mansion on Delaware. Do it, particularly if you’re bringing a romantic interest. Great hotel.
  8. Yeah, against Pitt I think he was just trying too hard. First game back in front of the crowd, first game after signing the big contract…there had to have been a lot going on in Josh’s head that day. He didn’t play horribly, and in fact had better stats than he did against Pitt last year. He was, as you say, just a bit “off.” Against Miami he began to break out of it, particularly in the 2nd half, and then we all saw what a relaxed, comfortable-with-himself Josh can do against the WFT. The OL is an issue but not one Josh can’t deal with.
  9. They’re dysfunctional. A bunch of talent doesn’t equal a good team. Flores is overrated. Whether he wanted Herbert or not, he should have played Fitz last year and let Tua sit and learn. This season he has some sort of three-headed offensive coaching cadre that makes no sense. They are a mess. Yes, a good QB helps to hide flaws (see: Bills OL) but the problems in South Beach run deeper than that.
  10. Ruh-roh, Shaggy. When people start citing their IQ scores in defense of their posts, things have gone off the rails.
  11. “Since the AFL/NFL merger” is very clearly in the first sentence of my post. Howell is far and away the best QB of this class. This season he’s getting murdered behind a very shaky OL but he still has two games in which he threw for 300 and ran for 100. Big time arm. I think he will be a very solid pro.
  12. Hmm...not entirely sure I agree, but he does have that "crafty veteran" thing going for him.
  13. Harlan's voice is fantastic and his enthusiasm is genuine, not contrived. I'm golfing during the game Sunday and for the first time in forever I'm going to listen to the Bills radio feed. I really want to know who Gus Johnson pissed off. That dude should be one of the networks' top NFL and NCAA basketball play-by-play guys.
  14. Have you been to a tailgate in Orchard Park?
  15. The defensive gameplan in particular was a complete head-scratcher, as were the conservative decisions to kick FGs. It was out of character and I hope McD really has become a better version of himself this season.
  16. He ain’t Josh. It’s a new era.
  17. I wasn’t at that one, but I was there in ‘90 when the goalposts came down again after squishing the Fish.
  18. Nobody has the QB we have. And that will be the difference.
  19. I'm with you, man...I need to see them against a real threat at QB. I think there is a lot that is better...the run D, the pass rush...but until there is a true test we just don't know. You have no idea how badly I want to see Groot reach out with a big paw and twirl Mahomes to the ground.
  20. Culley did such a good job with Josh that the Bills said "um, thanks David, best of luck to you."
  21. That was my unprofessional view of the action as well, although there was one play in particular in which Addison was embarrassed. He started a bull rush, then tried a spin move, and was pancaked. I said "ouch."
  22. "Touch me there" Watson isn't seeing the football field any time soon.
  23. One of my favorite football soundbites of all time... He already said the NFL is like playing Alabama every week.
