Most talented player in Bills franchise history?
eball replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Before Josh came along the answer was (and still is) definitively Bruce Smith. No one else is even close. Based upon what Josh has become, and the improvement I still expect to see, by the time it is all said and done we may be able to have a spirited debate on the topic. -

Full-time as in how Singletary is used? Not at all.

Good point. I have heard rumors that the defensive players and coaches have been moping around OBD, shuffling their feet with their heads down. They seem demoralized. Bet the Sheep!

But take cash, unless they’ve changed their policy (I haven’t been since Covid). -
I tell ya, with Li’l Dirty’s status up in the air it sure is nice to have a vet like Crowder available to step in.

Cousins, Jefferson, Cook might be one…but every time I think of Cousins I say “ugh.” He does put up the numbers though.

I picked up the Fish D in fantasy just for W1 against McCorkle and the anemic Pats***. Hoping for a 10-6 snooze fest.

I encourage Bills fans to take a step back and simply enjoy whatever run we have with Josh. The “we have to win the SB this year or the season is a failure” mentality is, in my own insignificant opinion, unhealthy. As the article suggests, JA is probably a once-in-a-lifetime talent — not a trend of NFL QBs into the future. If things progress as they should, the championships will follow given the strong organizational structure in Buffalo. I’m going to enjoy the hell out of this.

Prediction: James Cook is the starting RB going into 2023. I feel like he has skills akin to Thurman, albeit with more speed. 2022 is Motor’s year, but he won’t be signed to a 2nd contract and I won’t be surprised if we see more and more of Cook as the season progresses. Cook will make the passing game better by being an extra weapon for Josh.

Sweeney and Morris would have been snatched up by the Giants in a heartbeat. Howard obviously was not. -

Bills have 5th oldest roster in the NFL
eball replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Team age can be a misleading stat, and I think in the Bills’ case it is a bit misleading. Much of the age on this team is in the form of veteran depth, particularly on the OL. The safeties are obviously older but potential replacements are on the roster. On the D line only Miller is “old” but he shows no signs of slowing down. There will always be roster churn from year to year, and nobody can keep rolling out the “same” unit for more than a few years. Long story short — I don’t view this statistic as anything to be “worried” about for the Bills short- and long-term future, particularly when they have a 26-yo stud at the most important position in the game. -
