  1. Singletary seemed to get hosed on that call to me anyway.
  2. Other than terminology changes, he played under mcdaniel for his entire career prior to this year.
  3. 1 - False start does nothing - so go with a straight up hard count and eat the penalty. 2 - I probably spread them out and force them to match up. Have allen go to the line like a sneak, and expect them to stack it. If they don't stack? Sneak. If they do, move into shotgun and sprint to the sideline, worst case chuck it out of bounds and you've wasted some time, best case there's a breakdown and you get the needed yard or two, or even a completion.
  4. Yeah - i don't mind throwing there as you need a first down to really hurt them. But that was some terrible execution, and a lot of it was on Diggs actually.
  5. Most fumbles are going to come from QBs. And its flukey as to how they occur. Buffalo is still 3rd in the NFL in takeaways. If we could not be DEAD LAST in turnovers on offense we'd probably be cooking with gas here.
  6. I think this all but eliminates him from the MVP conversation. And I'm fine with it - get back to focusing on winning football. That... is a good question.
  7. We scored twice from inside the red zone running the ball though... 2nd and 2 from the 7 - we passed 3 times. 3rd and 1 from minnesota 49 - we pass and get sacked. We did have a duke johnson rush get stopped, and a singletary. But We also stopped running
  8. Punch that ball to the effing ground. I'm putting that one on Lewis.
  9. Nope - but its why they didn't win?
  10. The defense had one possession and gave up 3 points. The offense had 2 possessions and scored 0 points. The defense didn't play well but to act as though they're the reason we lost is not really accurate.
  11. The blueprint only works if you have a good secondary, and even then its at best a coin flip. GB has a good secondary and they gave up over 5 consecutive drives, and while their run game was effective into the 2 high safety looks, it didn't result in nearly enough points to catch up.
  12. They were 5-13 on 3rd downs. 2/2 on 4ths. The game was 14-3 and they had the long drive to bring it back to 14-10. Buffalo screwed up a chance to go up 7 there by not using their last timeout to really exploit the middle of the field (or to use the sidelines to stop the clock and get some free yards. They then had a decent drive aided by poor officiating a fake punt, and buffalo still stopped them when it counted. Allen just gave it right back. Now down 17-14 offense drove down for 3, and we immediately got a 3 and out. With 12 and change left we got to midfield and just blew it. You need to put pressure on the other team there. Even so - Buffalo gave up 77 yards rushing on the last drive and still got a stop somehow and gave the offense one last chance. Before that last drive they had under 100 yards rushing and under 150 yards net passing. If Buffalo scores on the first possession, or at the half, or when the game was tied... they win. I don't care if they move up the field and kick field goals - we should beat a team that does that.
  13. Turnover differential is like the easiest indicator of playoff teams.
  14. Plus if Buffalo takes a greater lead there - the Jets might pass the ball more, or it changes how they approach their next series.
  15. And we played right into it with allen and the playcalling. Rather than exploit a team that's sitting in zone by running short quick stuff to any number of players, Allens back to holding the ball forever and freestyling. 5 sacks had to be the most in some time. We even started a drive with shorter stuff and misdirection, mckenzie had a run and 2 catches, then a sneak for the 1st. Felt like we were in business, and we ended up punting the game away right there basically. I think Allen is going to see a lot on this film. he knows this loss is on him, but itll be more clear watching. 5 sacks, 2 bad picks on him, another 2 near picks, a bunch of dirted balls that should have been thrown better. And thats not even getting into missing open receivers.
  16. So he has some playcalling experience...? How can you hire a HC who hasn't even seen the playbook for this weeks game. What is he going to offer at this point?
  17. Buffalo plays a lot of palms cover 2/4, so you do give up a lot of stuff underneath. It takes time to learn how to time disrupting the catch point, when to bail vs. press, all that kinds of stuff. They had like 150 yards passing so i can't really complain too much about him.
  18. I just don't know what we were trying to do in this game. Mckenzie short stuff starts working on a drive, then its hold the ball - sack, deep shot, deep shot, punt. 1st down on their side of the field was just screaming to run into that 2 high look and allen holds it and gets sacked again.
  19. yeah - the 34 for 175 was like 6 carries for 80 on that drive. That's both a good and bad thing i guess? like for the most part they weren't gashing us in the run game, but man those 2 johnson missed tackles were like 30 extra yards or more. We had almost the full 2 minutes though - thats enough time.
  20. It's a multi-year commitment at this point too. But him and Diggs flexing inside to the slot does sound appealing, and with other weapons on the offense in davis/shakir/mckenzie he can play on a bit of a pitch count this year.
  21. Yup. 1 turnover takes 3 off the board, another gave them field position for 7. The jets only scored 20. Even with getting gashed in the run game they still only scored 3 on that last drive.
  22. My thoughts were... I audibly said "what the hell was that" when allen threw several passes in this one. He wasn't good. That davis drop was way worse upon replay, i thought the throw was poor in real time - he needs to come down with that. Run defense in the 4th quarter - as bad as it was. And it was bad.... Buffalo stopped them and forced a FG. 2 minutes left, down 3, ball in allens hands? You gotta think OT right? And instead they came out and laid an egg. I was expecting quick hitters to knox/mckenzie/shakir right up the middle of the field - spike it on any first downs and get yourself into FG range. Instead we're holding the ball and trying to get the ball down the field - i just didn't get it. 2 minute offense needs work.
  23. He's not manipulating defenses with his eyes and he's holding onto the ball. 5 sacks is a lot for him, and he wasn't sharp when he was hitting receivers. Singletary rescued a terrible throw, mckenzie scooped one off the ground and managed to still get the first.
  24. I thought it was just a terrible throw but no... just eyes glued to diggs.
  25. I don't know if it matters who plays in the slot or at tight end when Allen stares down diggs and davis like he did in this one.
