Of course! Hoping the kid can make a good transition to the pros. Not like it is terribly impressive, but after completing a drill that went great during his pro day, Burris did a standing backflip which drew the loudest cheers from the SDSU pro day.

Right. Obviously he has a large room for improvement, but he has shown a great deal of playmaking ability, dedication and nose for the football and seems to never give up on plays. There's a reason why he is not a round 1-4 type of player, but anyone in the later rounds can surprise in the NFL.

Sorry to have posted no information but his name before. I have a couple of good friends who go to SDSU and for the last couple of years have been raving about this linebacker there, Miles Burris. As a junior, Burris was named to the all-MWC first team while also being the Mountain West's sack and tackles-for-a-loss leader (2010). He recorded team-leading totals in tackles (80), tackles for a loss (20) and sacks (9.5). Leading into the 2011 campaign in what was his senior year, Burris was the fourth Aztec to be named to the preseason Lombardi Watch list which includes current Bills' linebacker, Kirk Morrison (2003 and 2004). As an FYI, the annual Rotary Lombardi Award honors the top lineman in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Eligibility for the award is limited to down linemen, end-to-end, either on offense or defense, who set up no farther than 10 yards to the left or right of the ball, or linebackers who set up no farther than five yards deep from the line of scrimmage. On to 2011: Burris was once again selected to the All-Mountain West Conference First Team for a second straight year (voters include the eight head coaches and a select media panel). He is the first Aztec to do so since, you guessed it, Kirk Morrison (2002-2004). The senior leads the Aztecs in tackles (72), tackles for loss (19.0), sacks (8.0) and fumble recoveries (3). He ranks eighth in the country in tackles for a loss (1.58/g), tied for 19th in fumble recoveries (0.25/g) and tied for 32nd in sacks (0.67/g). We're still talking about the number 10 overall selection though. I actually like Stephen Hill, its just its crazy to think someone can catch under 50 passes in his career and be a thought for a top 10 draft spot.

Did you ever stop to think why the YPC was so high? When an offense like GT is 70% run game and 30% passing, when you do throw the ball the other team is surprised, allowing Hill to earn extra YPC. I'm not knocking any of his "potential" or ability, but the facts are facts. He only caught 49 passes in his ENTIRE college career! How do you evaluate a guy like that and then say that you would take him #10 overall? Name one other wide receiver taken in the top 10 who had less than 50 career college catches.

I'd go with the median pick number as a statistician to say where they overall QB comes from and that would be the 17th overall selection.

Let's just be reminded of how difficult it is to evaluate college talent and transitioning it into the NFL. Talking heads such as Mike Mayock may be well respected but have their share of blunders for people who they talk up a lot (Robert Ayers, Blaine Gabbert, etc.). Who in recent years have you thought was going to be a complete stud, but hash't been very productive in the NFL (try to use 1st and 2nd rounders only as examples)...? Where are all the Everette Brown fans, Limas Sweed, Dan Williams, Jerry Hughes, Jimmy Clausen, etc. I'll start. 2008: James Hardy. Not going to lie, I saw him play in person once in college and he looked like the real not going to lie. Had the size to be an awesome red zone threat, oh well. 2009: Larry English... oh Larry English what happened to you? Was it the lack of tackle talent in your conference that had us fooled? 7 sacks and 1 FF combined for his first 3 years in the NFL. Shame. Darcel McBath. Had a promising rookie year, then injuries have put him on IR the last two seasons with two difference teams (Broncos and Jags). Sean Smith...ugh Sean Smith - I thought he was going to be awesome! He's been a starter at CB for Miami but hasn't been great. Has improved in interceptions over his three years (0,1 and 2) lol. 2010: Demaryius Thomas, but I guess you can say has played well as of late, considering his QB carousel. Brian Price. Thought he played pretty good last year but did nothing in his rookie year. Obviously we all have had picks we've hit on, but that's not the point of this thread.

Mayock also talked up Robert Ayers more than anyone else ever did. Ayers isn't anything special...

You would have to go with Spiller based on his college production, his bright spots when starting late last season and because of the huge age difference!

I don't agree with picking someone in the draft or signing someone (T.O.) just to fill seats. Its just part of marketing and it happens all the time for teams that are struggling and going through low points. It happens and I don't agree with it. My pick at #10 obviously depends on who would be available at that point and time. Within trying to be reasonable, let's say... 1.) Luck 2.) RG3 3.) Kalil 4-9. (in no particular order) Claiborne, Blackmon, Richardson, Tannehill, Reiff and Coples/Ingram. If Coples was chosen and Ingram was available, I'd think about it, but not the other way around. From what the draft world has been saying about our pick at 10, this would leave us with our choice of Floyd, Kuechly, DeCastro, Brockers, Martin or Kirkpatrick. I really don't want any of these guys at 10 and I would want to trade down. If I couldn't trade down, I would have to pick between Ingram and Gilmore actually, with a flyer on Floyd as well. Gilmore is underrated and McGee and Florence are getting older. Aaron Williams will be a good player for us and Justin Rogers will have a role. Not sure what will become of McKelvin, but I would most strongly consider Gilmore/Ingram/Floyd.

Sometimes you just need to make moves to put people's butts in the seats. What I meant was, Buffalo has needs at T, LB and WR before drafting a guard.
