Why would be reach for any of these positions even without any of the above players. We still need a starting LT, starting DE and starting #2 WR. So any pick for those positions will be an automatic starter on this team. There is no reaching. You just pick the best available including a OLB.

The state of the Buffalo Bills
ganesh replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The 49ers took risk on one of our own injury prone LT in Jonas Jennings...There is always a market for LTs...They are always at a premium. Teams don't let their young talent (even if injured) leave the building. -
Although Nix Says Free Agency Is Not The Way
ganesh replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mathis is a cover-2 DE....He just doesn't fit the frame of a DE that Buddy and Chan look for in a DE. The Bills are unlikely to go after him. -
The Bills have spent considerable draft picks on the DL. The problem is most of those picks have not panned out... Chris Kelsay was a top half 2nd round pick Poz was a 2nd round pick McCargo cost us a 1st and 2nd round pick Troupe was a 2nd round pick Carrington cost us a 3rd round Dareus was a top 4 pick Sheppard was a 3rd round pick and a few more...The only success from that has been Dareus...

Why We're Heading In The Right Direction
ganesh replied to HuSeYiN1978's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Losing Eric Wood and Fred Jackson was the biggest part of the nose dive for this offense. Without Wood at Center, Fitz had less time to throw and feeling the pressure on his face. Jackson gave the bills a chance to run the ball and control the clock. Once he was gone, that went down the drain. -
And who will be your LT ?
-
And not to forget that we still stunk in stopping the Run. We need a good DE that can also seal off the edge. For too often we let RBs run free on the outside. Fitz game went south when Wood was injured. When wood was playing, Fitz hardly felt pressure from the inside and really had that extra second to make the throw. If Wood comes back from his injury, we will be OK with this OL.

Osi plays for the Giants...The Jets have no rights to him to be shopping him. Fitz is a game-manager. To ask him win the game by himself is a disaster. They need to surround him with solid talent and a strong defense. A defense that can get off the field on 3rd downs and give good field position for Fitz. Fitz needs to master the short game first before needing to throw deep. Accuracy...Accuracy....We can be a playoff team, if we can stop the run and do not turnover the ball.

Report: Dolphins will go after P. Manning
ganesh replied to ET1062's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't be sure abut that...The Dolphins are pretty close to being a good team. They have a solid defense, which was pretty stout against the run. They have a pro-bowl/all-pro LT and a pretty good WR. If they can add a few more pieces to the offense like a TE and then Peyton Manning, they will definitely be in the playoffs... They whupped us for gods sake! -
Disclaimer: Unconfirmed New Owner?
ganesh replied to It's in My Blood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand that Ralph wants to own the team until he is gone. Why wouldn't he consider selling a reasonable stake in the organization to outsiders and give them full control. At the end of the day, he may want to have a SB ring and he could still do it by being part owner.. -
He sucked in Buffalo...He sucked in Washington...He sucked in Jacksonville....He stunk it up in New Orleans...and yet he is getting his 4th DC job.... The NFL is a old-boys network indeed...
-
The only other UFA that I want on this team is Scott Chandler. He has been productive @ the TE spot and will only get better as Fitz will learn to go to him even in the middle of the field rather than only the end zone. I hope the Bills make a good play for him.

The Patriots beat 1team with a winning record
ganesh replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And we played the Pats, Jets and Dolphins twice each and the final verdict was 1-5....Until this team learns to win within this division it will not make the playoffs. -
That is what a Pass rush does...Throws the player off his rhythm. Once the rhythm is gone and the players on your face, it does not matter whether it is Brady or Rodgers or Fitzpatrick...The result will be the same. The Bills need that kind of pass rush on their front 7. Can Nix deliver via FA or the Draft? Mario Williams with Dareus and Williams would be an awesome DT. And it was a 3-4....What happened to Clay Mathews this year...I didn't hear his name that much...

Fitz game went down the drain, when his Center went down to injury. Wood gave him that extra second in the pocket and that made a big difference in his ability to step up and throw (or the inability)

Aaron Williams Drafted then Andy Dalton
ganesh replied to Hsp08's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Aaron will be a good pick for us. What I really wanted is that 3rd round pick, when Ryan Mallet was sitting and we missed the boat...A Strong Armed QB in Buffalo! -
The way to win for the Bills: Draft Well....Build a team of Super stars with your home grown talent. The FA will then come....It happened.....Bryce Paup, Ted Washington, Chris Spielmen./.....Super Stars in their own right played FA contracts here when the team was winning...

The Bills need to stop drafting players out of position and then trying to fit them into the new position...They have failed miserably in the past decade.....

Mike Mularkey is Jags new head coach
ganesh replied to mellaman101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The JAX situation is no more different than the Bills....plus they absolutely don't have a fan base....empty seats covered up....potential to move to LA.... Mularkey left because he did not want to start Losman as his QB....That was going to be a lame duck status as a coach... I actually liked Mularkey as a HC. His blunder was in having very weak OC and DC. Tom Clements as the OC was just horrible... If he had a decent DC instead of the junk in Jerry Gray, he would have had a chance... In spite of all that, Mularkey is the only HC to have had a winning season for the Bills in the last 12 years! -
Carson Palmer was not the issue. CP will be ok when he gets an Off season under his belt. In fact he performed much better than Fitz in the same number of games. The problem was that the Raiders were just a very ill-disciplined bunch...They had the highest number of penalties...that explains the lack of focus starting from the HC...And no one could control the temper of Seymour.

Who Thinks Denver Can Beat Pittsburgh This Week?
ganesh replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even a Blind Squirrel can find a nut once in a while -
The key is that they had a chance to pick the Franchise QB in Matt Ryan and go after Turner in the FA market. The rest was good drafting and FA. Kudos to them for building both the teams On and Off the field. They also signed Michael Turner to a FA contract.
-
They can be patient because they have Marivn Lewis as their HC and he is a pretty good coach..Not like the stiffs we have had around One Bills Drive.

Report: Indy Colts' short list for new GM includes ...
ganesh replied to merlin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Promo, I am not sure what the Bills could have done in this situation unless Whaley is promoted to GM of this organization. Is Buddy Ready to step down and promote Whaley from inside. And if Whaley does become the GM, does he have a say in who his HC will be...May be Gailey is not his guy. -
reggie wayne, bowe, mike wallace, robert mathis

I just can't see this team paying FA price for two #1 WRs....when they have so many other holes on the team
