NE's Offense vs Buffalo's Defense
ganesh replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills were 1-5 against AFC East foes last year including sweeps by the Dolphins and the Jets. Before lining up against the Patriots, this team must beat the Jets and Dolphins before talking any smack. I am still worried by the #2 WR position. Donald Jones when given the job last year was horrible. Could get no separation and also had drops. We really need a legitimate #2 WR. May be Scott Chandler becomes a better pass-catching TE. Also, not sure if we are going to get the consistency from the LT position considering that it will be manned by a Rookie Tackle who will be going against some good pass rushers. -
Big Ben was pretty average in hist 1st SB...Of course he made up for it with that Final "Elwaysque" drive for 92 yards against Arizona in the next one. The bottom line is that teams win SB due to a dominating defense, great special teams and good offense. There has rarely been a team that won purely on excelling on one side of the ball game. Even in the Baltimore win, Dilfer/Shannon Sharpe combination was pretty lethal. Even Brady's 3 SB wins have come with more of dominating defense and the one year they tried to win with their offense, god took it away with a miracle play.

And Vinnie Iyyer @ Sporting News has him ranked @ #20.... NFL QB Ranking After the Top 10 QBs it doesn't matter whether you are the 12th best or 20th best.....The difference is a pretty thin line between a Jay Cutler to Fitzpatrick to a Dalton...They are all inconsistent QBs. Fitz game should improve with: 1. Return of Eric Wood to Center 2. Return of Jackson as the starting RB 3. Hopefully a dominating Defense that will STOP THE RUN 4. A better starting LT in Cody Glenn who can hold the fort And himself (Fitz) improving his mechanics and reduce his mental mistakes. There are lot of good things aligning for Fitz. It is now up to Fitz and Gailey to execute.

So, soooo many improvements over last year!!
ganesh replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The biggest improvement is going to come because of the DL. When that DL can stop the run and apply pressure, the DBs will suddenly become outstanding. If this D can cause havoc and shorten the field for the offense, this team has a chance. Then it is up to Fitz and Chan to execute and put the games away. The team for a change has talent on its side. It is up to the coaching staff to turn that into wins. -
Vince Young, Tyler Thigpen battle for Bills backup role
ganesh replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope the Bills end the Tyler Thigpen experiment and give all the 2nd team Reps to Vince Young so that he is prepared if Fitz were to go down. The coaching staff then gets to work with 3 players not 4. -
Front office has had preliminary talks with Levitre

While the big contract for the LT is a couple of years away, the Bills would have to take care of Urbik and more importantly Eric Wood next season. Those are going to be some big contracts. -
Class Act: Byron Scott - Class Organization: Bills

The front office gets a lot of crap because they have consistently failed to put a winning product on the field. I truly expect a giant corporation like the Bills to be doing such Social work. It would be a shame otherwise. -
Who's next in line to win their first Super Bowl?
ganesh replied to Billsrhody's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And 7 among this group are Super Bowl losers... Bengals, Bills, Chargers, Vikings, Eagles...All could have won their super bowls if they could have learned to play 60 minutes of football. -
Exactly! After all he has been the team MVP for the decade....It is actually refreshing to find the punter as the weakest link of the team (NOw....I am not saying that....But Just Saying that....)

Recovering: Who is most important to Bills success this season?
ganesh replied to CSBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kyle Williams - Center of that DL and can create havoc together with Dareus and Williams. When he was on the field, our line was getting tremendous push and also able to stop the run against some very good RBs. Eric Wood - He was the lynchpin to that Offense at the beginning of the season. When he went down, the offense went down. The health of these two guys are key to this season. As they say, it always starts from the trenches. -

Ah...Where is the Wonderlic reference when you need it..... -
We would have to re-sign Byrd or Levitre this season as we cannot apply the Franchise Tag on both of them. If this OL gels at the beginning of this season, I think Levitre hits the jackpot. On the other hand Byrd could be signed for a lot cheaper than Levitre now. I think Wood has 2 years remaining in his contract and will be up next year and so would Urbik.

Bills Still Looking to Bring in Players??
ganesh replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Giants, in spite of two close wins in SBs, have showed how to beat Tom Brady and the Pats. Heck, even we saw a glimpse from our own team as to how to make Brady lose..You apply pressure and get him to make mistakes. If our front four truly can dominate the LOS, we will have a helluva team this season. -
Espn afc east dream/nightmare case scenarios
ganesh replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They play in a division with 3 weak teams and the AFC East gets to play a weak division in the NFC West this year. That will get you a weak SOS for the season. -

Has Dalton reached his maximum potential?
ganesh replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
or us playing horribly in the 4th quarter. Give credit to where it is due. They beat us. Plain and Simple! -
Fitz, Jackson and Stevie were never given a chance during the Jauron regime. Stevie posted back-to-back 1000 yard season only after Gailey ran the offense. Fitz got his chance only with Gailey (who also goofed by giving Edwards the Starting job). The OL was so bad, that Jauron and Co had to make automatic choices to plug holes in the line. In fact, Jauron erred pretty badly by moving Wood from Center (in College) to Guard (in the NFL). When Wood finally played Center, he showed that he can be a dominating Center that can protect the pocket for the QB. Jauron should get minimal to no credit for any of these players development.

Will we run more and pass less than last year?
ganesh replied to Thurmal34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
with our improved defense, we should be a Run..Run...and more Run team. We have to load up and force the other teams to stop our run. I still can't trust Fitz with this team. He just makes too many mistakes. -
Interesting article on 3rd round and below $$$

Every professional Job requires new employees to develop in their organization before giving them the big raises and bonus and stock options. The NFL should be no different. If an employee hired by Microsoft is fired after two years because he was not doing his job, do you expect Microsoft to have paid the Maximum for the employee for the 1st two years ? Considering the type of money thrown to rookies prior to this CBA was just asnine...and was blocking from teams giving the people who have really excelled the kind of deals they need to be given. The only weakness of the CBA would be that the teams should not have been given 4 years of exclusive rights to these players. It should have been 2 years and a 1 year of restricted right (at least for the 3rd to 7th round players). That gives these players some upper hand if they have beaten the rookie contract. Isn't that what a company like google or Microsoft would do. -
The CBs also can rank higher if the defense has a pass rush.

I see the Steelers taking the division. They just reloaded..

I just think that GB made the mistake of not trading Flynn the previous season. Sometimes, things just don't fall your way....Brees was let go as a FA by San Diego because of injury.
