  1. I agree that NO QB in this draft is worth the #8 pick. Some are saying go BPA and move back into the 1st round... But losing draft picks is counter productive. My thoughts are to move down as far as possible. I don't care if we can only move 2 spots... Then we go from there with an extra 2nd or 3rd. That said... I would consider Nassib... But not for all the obvious reasons (same coaches, same offense, etc.). He was raw 3 years ago... He's shown tremendous growth over those 3 years... And if last season is any indicator, his growth is on an exponential scale. If that continues for 1 or 2 more seasons, he could, quite possibly, become elite in the NFL. Hell... Drafting is a crap shoot anyway.

  4. Sorry... I didn't keep track of who was claiming what. Hope I didn't confuse the issue.
  5. Sorry dude... That math ain't working in your favor. Bottom line... We can save around $5M against 2013 cap... But it will cost about $5M more in 2014.
  6. You're welcome... Her're the details... http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3240/ryan-fitzpatrick
  7. Here's a link that could help with understanding he June 1st designation. http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcsouth/post/_/id/35825/wise-accounting-give-panthers-cap-room Of course, ya'll can ignore these posts and keep right on bickering if you like.
  8. I believe the new June 1st designation is the problem here... Keeping Fitz will cost $10.45M against the 2013 cap. Cutting him before June 1st will cost $10M against the 2013 cap. That's obviously only a $,45 M savings against the 2013 cap... And $7.5M actual cash savings. However, the June 1st designation allows the Bills to release him and not pay his $3M roster bonus (plus workout bonus). While, at the same time, spread out the dead cap money over the next 2 seasons. That equals $4.45M against the 2013 cap and the same against the 2014 cap. The Cash savings is the same regardless. Hope this helps.
  9. I'm really liking these 2 as deep middle seam guys. Once you get the FS wrapped up in that, the deep side routes open up. Fitz won't need to drop the ball over the CB head and in front of the FS.
  10. Well... I wasn't saying Kelsay is (not was) better... But I am now! And guess who else is better!!! Keith Ellison last 3 seasons... 28 G's, 0 SK's, 5 PD's, 1 FR, 151 T's, 5.4 T's/G Sean Merriman last 3 seasons... 18 G's, 4 SK's, 0 PD's, 0 FR's, 44 T, 2.4 T's/G Conclusion... While Merriman may have been superior in his 1st 3 seasons due to his sack count and maybe passes defended also (He averaged just 4.4 tackles/game in those years), he has clearly not been as good since his knee injury as the back-up Keith Ellison. It takes more than name recognition to play in this league. Injuries can and do end a players production.
  11. Outside of his sack numbers for his 1st 3 years... His other stats are mediocre at best. He's only averaged 3.9 tackles per game in his career... His best season for tackles (2007), he averaged just 4.5 tackles per game. Now... you wanna compare those numbers to our admittedly putrid LB's? Kelsay's avereaged the same 3.9 tackles per game over his career... He's averaging 6 tackles per game this season!
  12. What kinda crap is that? I made no pretense as it being anything other than what it is... Thus "The Gailey Job Interview". I guess I should apologize to any who aren't smart enough to get that... I coulda dumbed it up a bit more.
  13. LOL... I love the polar illustration. It really exemplifies how far we've come in attitude!
  14. I believe we should have an ongoing thread of Gaileyisms. I'll start with, what I like to call "The Gailey Job Interview"... "I believe in toughness and discipline." "This is a tough game for tough people." "We have not been where we needed to be in the last few years, and we gotta get back there. And I only know one way to accomplish that, and that's through hard work." "I've been around enough winning teams and enough winning programs, that when I walk on the field I expect to win... I don't just hope to win... I expect to win."
  15. I think he's much more forthcoming in answering questions and keeping Bills fans informed. The previous seasons he seemed to be way less committal on decisions as well. I'm hoping it's a sign of change... But it's probably just desperation on his part.
