  1. I wish Kelly Again simply the proof that if you don't have a franchise QB, you don't have a chance at the SB We got short changed quite a bit in drafting QBs. Similarly, Jacksonville wouldn't trade with us so that we could get Bib Ben, simply because they were afraid the Jets would then get the big WR Reggie Williams...Reggie lasted in the NFL for a few years and went into obscurity. The best shot for the bills was to have drafted Cutler, because he was available and they chose to ignore and go with Lynch. The other one would be Flacco,
  2. Good teams know when the end is near and draft accordingly or get lucky. The packers were good to nurture a Rodgers for three seasons while the Colts got lucky with a 2-14 season that ensure that they will have a franchise QB for 20+ years run. The Bills, 49ers, Cowboys who built strong contenders in the 90s did not do the same and have suffered for the past 15+ seasons.
  3. I don't agree. I don't think the Pats were anywhere close to being the best team in the league in all those years. Sure they are ONE of the top team, but not the best team. This year they definitely were not the best team in the league. I think that was the 49ers.
  4. That is why both are starters on a "Scumb-bag" run team. Both would not have made the squad of the other 31 franchise.
  5. Is the Alternates decided by the conference coaching staff (The loser of the conference championship games)? Also McKelvin may not have made it because he is on IR.
  6. I guess it really depends on how you define "Game Managers". I think in those 5 SB (Bradys 3 and Ben's 2), the onus of winning of the SB was not placed soley on the shoulders of the two QBs, but the mentality to win it as a team concept. In fact, in Ben's 1st SB, the big plays were not made by him. The only thing they did was to not turn over the football. I do disagree with 2nd of Ben's SB victories. It was a dramatic 92 yard "Elwaysque" drive that won the SB for the Steelers against the Arizona Cardinals including a brilliant 4th and 28 at his own 10 yard line. I do believe that both Ben and Brady won some fantastic games during those years, but in the SB they were simply just another player. It was not the same as dominating as Steve Youngs beating of the Chargers or more recently Brees production for the New Orlean Saints.
  7. Hey...he did do it ONCE in his 3 year term...When he sent Edwards packing in favor of Fitzpatrick. I guess he did not want to repeat the same thing again!!! Stubborn Chan: Besides the art of trying out another QB over a failing one, these were his other flat-out refusals: Refused to start CJ ahead of Freddie even though CJ was playing better Refused to bench Aaron Williams until he got injured, in spite of giving up TDs one after the other Refused to bench Wilson, when he dropped game-clinching INTs in back-to-back games Refused to put both CJ and Freddie on the field at the same time. Refused to put T.J Graham on the field and went with lame WRs in Donald and Martin.
  8. According to profootball reference, the Patriots were 6th best in points and 6th best overall defense with 22 INTs (as opposed to 15 passing TDs). They also had a very good special teams. All I was saying was that their defense was dominant in those championship years that kept them in close games and put their team in a position to kick FGs at the end of the 4th qtr and win those championships. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2001/opp.htm
  9. +1 The bills have yet to consistently beat good to great teams. So I am not surprised that our record against the SB opponents are 1-11. It aptly describes the divide in the talent and coaching of this team from rest of the NFL.
  10. There were on the Baltimore side 9 times and in the Redzone 6 times, came away with 1TD and 2 FG.
  11. To be honest, there are several dubious question marks on those Steelers 4 super bowls...There was rampant allegation of heavy steroid use by the Steelers.
  12. To be fair, he saw an open man in the end zone and threw it in. If you see that kind of opening, you take the chance every time. You get a TD with the play instead of a first down. Has any of the Patriots complained yet about the missed first down because the referee was in Tom Brady's path. That had to suck.
  13. One of the reasons for the Patriots winning those 3 SB was a great defense including a fearsome front-seven. They failed in the last two SB and the AFC Championships is because they have a pathetic defense. Today, Flacco toyed with that D in the 2nd half.
  14. I don't think they are tarnished one bit. They still won 3 Super Bowls and something like 10-11 AFC Eash Divison crown and 6 AFC Championships. All dynasties come to an end with a Thud and may be this is the beginning of the end of that era for the Patriots Please remember how Kelly ended his career (On the hard cold turf of RWS)
  15. You beat me to it...I think CJ and Byrd get in.
  16. It simply makes no sense. Your team lost fair and square. Why can't you man it up and be a professional. After all the game was in your own back yard. Classless Jerk. And even Hoody doesn't want to show up, why wouldn't Mr. Boston not show his face. Baltimore has been an overall better team than the Patriots in the past few years. They finally got over the hump...Amazing to go into New England and count out with a RESOUNDING victory.
  17. Why the ceremony inside the locker room. Is it because the Ravens are the visitors? Shoudln't the AFC Championship celebration be done on the field.
  18. Not having Gronk really hurt them and they probably did not use Hernandez well enough. Kudos to the Ravens defense for keeping it tight and hitting Brady hard every time. It definitely affected his rhythm.
  19. The Baltimore Management must be really kicking themselves hard....Flacco is going to make some real big money. He had an outstanding game....If not for Lee Evans, that would have been back-to-back trips to the Superbowl
  20. Why are the Ravens celebrating prematurely...There is still 2.05 to go and Ball in Brady's hands.
  21. Just 40 seconds off the clock on those 3 plays and one was a sack... Baltimore outsmarting itself. Good Field position for the Patriots
  22. The comparison was between Fitz and TJ. Between the two, the talent level is no different. However, the cost is significantly different.
  23. +1. I am on the Barley bandwagon. Unfortunately, I think this draft doesn't really have blue chip players at most of the positions.
  24. How many QBs has Andy turned into SB Champions - ZERO. McNabb was drafted in the top of the 1st round Andy Reid has had the same dubious record as Nix does with QBs.
  25. +1. However I don't think we will spend another 8-10M at the WR position, especially when we don't have a QB. The only incumbent WRs that we should take to camp should be SJ, Nelson and Graham.
