  1. We could sign Danny Woodhead...At least he will not score 2 TD every game against us.
  2. In your post, you have a WR in Rd 2 and a TE in Rd 3. Wouldn't it then make sense to pick your QB in Rd 1 instead of another WR. Patterson could be a one-year college wonder.
  3. Isn't that still SIX months away buddy!
  4. McGee did not get the benefit of two big contracts from the Buffalo Bills as Kelsay received. May be McGee is looking for that one contract that will also pay him to be on par with Kelsay!!!
  5. He just needs the Reggie White "Miracle" to happen on his knees! My feeling is that if the competition can be consistent in training camp and pre-season, this staff may take the risk. Anyways who knows...It is time for us to enjoy the off season.
  6. McGee did not retire...He wants to still play in the NFL. I think there is a big difference. May be when McGee eventually retires, they will do the ceremonial sign-and-retire and do all the stuff you described. I think with this regime, nothing is guaranteed. If a rookie does outplay Lindell in training camp, I think Lindell may get cut. After all, even last years lousy regime cut Moorman during the season. If cutting Lindell saves money and a younger player, I see this group taking it that way.
  7. Except that no one would pay 7.5M as bonus/salary for a back up.
  8. And he (Lindell) may not be out of the woods yet...He very well could be replaced by a cheaper option before/after training camp It is easy...If you love football, you can always do that....There are so many great players on other teams that we dislike on the field, but once the game is done, we really appreciate their games. I am a big Knicks fan and for a decade when they had one of their best teams, they were pummeled every year by Michael Jordan (and by Olajuwon the two years Michael took a break) in the playoffs and they ended up having ZERO championships while Jordan and the Bulls had SIX. Yet, I really enjoyed watching Jordan as a player...He was magnificent.
  9. We need continuity on this line. Levitre has been the most reliable player on this line for the past 4 years. I just don't understand why we would let him go, when we have other critical holes to fill at WR, TE and LB position.
  10. But that is something to be dealt by Nix. I would ask Nix as to the reason for releasing Jones and Nelson. The coaches job is to let the Player Personnel Dept know who they want and who they don't.
  11. A Mark Sachez type situation
  12. and the focus on defense !!!!
  13. You Welcome. You are after all the "Hopeful" :-)
  14. Don't worry. We still have Fitzpatrick and many folks on this board would love to rip Mario Williams all the time. And if McKelvin signs baclk with this team, then we have our whipping boy back. And finally don't forget....Aaron Williams is still on this roster!
  15. And that people who don't try have a 0% chance for luck. Not attempting to draft a QB and sign misfits like Thigpen, Young, TJ are the reason why w are where you are.
  16. Not many people on this board are critical at the draft record of Buddy. The biggest issue with Buddy was his reluctance or lack of insight to drafting a QB for this team. Also, NE's drafting track record over the last decade is pretty piss poor in spite of multiple top round draft picks that they accumulated with trades. I would rather have Baltimore as a team for comparison. They know how to draft good/great players.
  17. Another thing I have liked about this staff is that they have not come out in the press and made any ra-ra statements about their moves. They are simply making their roster quietly to how they like it. The only surprising roster moves they have not made is on Kelsay and Spencer Johnson.
  18. But Kelly also joined the Bills as a Mature player after a couple of years with the Gamblers.
  19. Good for us. May be Geno or Barkley indeed fall to the #8 spot. Or it allows us to get Wilson in Rd #2.
  20. QB Needy teams: Obvious Needs: 1. KC 2. Arizona 3. Buffalo 4. Jax 5. Jets Most-Likely Need: 1. Cleveland 2. Oakland (If they cut Palmer) Wouldn't mind an upgrade, especially a veteran like Alex Smith: 1. Titans (Inconsistent Locker) 2. Vikings (Inconsistent Ponder) 3. Eagles (Vick is signed through only for a year) The rest 22 teams already have their starting QB in place.
  21. And that may have played into the decision. Do you carry two potential starters into the season with serious questions marks about their ACLs?
  22. Our esteemed GM thought that QB was Fitzpatrick and WR was TJ Graham so that he chose not to pick a real QB instead of Graham. Our loss was Seattles gain.
  23. I am glad I don't have to go through that!!!
  24. And that is why the Fish and Jets have stunk along with us over the past few seasons. The Pats on the other hand still have Tom Brady and a bunch of good coaches, that keeps them in post season play. And after all someone HAS TO win the AFC East.
  25. Is that a compliment or a complaint about the Jills (lack of bust)!!!
