Second Round QB = Unlikely Franchise QB
ganesh replied to WickedGame's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Also, if there is a QB rated as a 2nd round pick, desperate teams will trade up to the 1st round and pick them (like J.P. Losman). -
When he was given the contract extension with a 5-1 record, the only good team they beat was the Patriots. Buddy did not see through that and gave the extension. When they had to finally play the AFC East...they went 5-0 remainder of the way.

Would Rivers be an option at QB next year?
ganesh replied to BuffalothruMyVeins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Completely agree. The loss of Vincent Jackson also hurts them very badly. And they are yet to get a replacement at RB. If Rivers plays behind our OL, he can throw that deep ball unlike Fitzpatrick. I definitely would treat him as an upgrade. -
5 biggest dissappointments this year...todate
ganesh replied to Niagara Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You guys have been beating up the defense...fair enough....now some on the offense. Non Emergence of a 2nd WR. The day Nelson was out for the season, we have not seen TJ or Jones step up to be that 2nd WR that will force single coverage on Steve Johnson. Non use of Scott Chandler. Our inability to extend drives on 3rd and shorts..We have been terrible at it. -
I had them at 6-4 at this point in the season

You need talent to beat the good teams How is Seattle 24th ranked, when they have a 1000-yard rusher? -
WE WON!!! [Thank your favorites thread]
ganesh replied to Storm Front's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The D was ill-disciplined. So many penalties that kept the Dolphins drives alive giving them 1st downs by encroachment on a 3rd and 4....(I think we had something like 10 penalties). The Dolphins played conservatively in the 1st half, but adjusted well in the 2nd half and played much better than the Bills. Byrd made an unbelievable pick. Otherwise, that would have been a long gain. I agree that the D played well in the 1st half, but was a no show in the 2nd half until a great play by Byrd and a stupid throw by the Miami rookie QB (on the last drive). I think it is you who needs to get real. -

The Bills defense still played poorly especially in that 4th Qtr. At the Dolphins 1-yard line with the game on the line. 1st down - 1 yard rush 2nd down - 7 yard rush 3rd down - 17 yard catch and run. Unbelievable! Couldn't stop them when it counted. Finally, the Dolphins QB makes rookie mistakes in throwing the ball. -
i think the bills will win tonight

First INT for rookie CB Gilmore -
The Titans were in the same boat...They made plays at the end and we didn't. Yes they are winnable...but does this team have the stomach to win it. I doubt it.

Steve Mariucci sees bright future for Fitzpatrick in Buffalo

ON the other hand Marshawn Lynch is a top-2 back in the NFL....That 4th rounder was definitely worth it for the Seahawks. -
"Fish Are Friends" - Finding Nemo....Classic

I would. The guy has changed the culture on that Houston defense from a perennial loser to a force. If he can get a good offensive coordinator, he can get this turned around quickly.
-
You could simply replace KC with Buffalo and everything will hold true. 1. We have a mediocre HC 2. We have a mediocre QB 3. We have a mediocre DC 4. We have some good players on the front 4 that are not tough (Except for Kyle Williams) 5. We have some play makers on offense, but cannot get the ball to them
-
CJ put on some really great blocks time and again to give Fitz the extra time to make his throws. Just like anything, Gailey doesn't know to put the ball in the hands of his best players..CJ and Chandler were a non-factor on the final drive, because Gailey did not put them in the play.
-
CJ was electric. It is so unfortunate that we don't give the ball enough to him. Freddy played well except for the fumble. It was also a bone headed move. We already had a 1st down and it would have been 1st and goal at the 2 yard line. Why make a desparate play. This kind of lack of focus falls squarely back on the HC as he allows these critical mistakes to happen without any accountability. Scott Chandler - Was probably the 2nd best player on the field besides CJ. Too bad he was not used on that last drive. What is up with Danny Woodhead.. He sucks against everyone, but puts the wood on the Bills every time we play them. Fitz was more accurate with the ball today. Too bad, he and his WR made a costly blunder at the end. At least he was attempting to throw 15-yard passes. It also shows how poor is this NE defense. We are 0-3 against the AFC East....Once again....

T.J. takes blame for INT at end
ganesh replied to Ba Ba Ba Buffalo Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And why wouldn't they go to Scott Chandler. He had been cooking the Patriot's Ass the whole day and he is a no show on that drive. Beats me. -
Not running the ball enough, especially in the 4th QTR. Once again Gailey makes the mistake of putting the game in Fitz's hands.

And now comes the half-time adjustment by Belichek and half-time-mismanagement by Gailey. -

Pocket Presence, Andrew Luck v. Fitz
ganesh replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Luck is better in so many ways other than just pocket presence... Luck can throw the ball downfield to his receivers Luck is more accurate than Fitz Luck is a next generation Ben Rothelisberger (Who was the next generation Kelly in his own times). -
DBs are going to get beat, if there is no pass rush from the front four. Schaub had all the time to sit back and throw long balls to Daniels, Johnson and even to some unknown dude name Casey. Secondly, this defense is simply dropping possible INTs. Wilson dropped a game clinching INT against the Titans in the final moments. We paid for it when Hasselbeck converted the next play into a game winning TD. The DBs had their chances yesterday too and missed it. Completely agree. It is such a shame that Gailey would draft Spiller and sit him on the bench and put scrubs like Ruvell Martin and Brad Smith on the field on offense. Of course, we have no QB to take advantage of his speed on the sidelines. To be honest, this was the first time Scott Chandler had a bad game. Until yesterday the big guy caught everything thrown at him. Today he made two critical mistakes that could have kept drives alive. I don't see how this bunch of ill-discplined players/coaching staff have any chance against Belichek in his own back yard. Gailey has not made anyone accountable on this team. This team is going to coast in mediocrity. If your QB does not even attempt to throw two passes down the sideline, the opposing defense is going to have 8-9 folks at the LOS and throwing a 5 yard curl pattern is not going to matter. Our D still cannot stop the Run. Every opposing RB can punish us for 5+ yards on every play. The only relief for our Run defense comes from the opponent OC, who for some stupid reasons of their own decide to throw passes and keep the Bills in the ball game until half time. If I were coaching against the Bills, I will run the ball every single time. How is that so? Every year, the Bills fans have stopped filling the stadium in December as the team is already out of contention by then. This year those 4 games are unlikely to be sold out. How is Ralph Wilson going to make money by putting this inferior product out. This is the worst argument. The guy just shelled out 50M guaranteed money to a Defensive playmaker. How does that not cut into his profit especially with the way this defense has been playing. I don't see Polian and/or Phillips coming back to Buffalo for what it was in the past. They have moved on and had a good career. It is up to Nix/Whaley to find the right solution and it starts with a HC who will make EVERYONE accountable and responsible. At this point Gailey has no accountability including his own actions as the OC.

Ill discipline 2nd half of Football...Once again the Texans made their 2nd half adjustments while we did not...
