  1. Adam Schefter was just on ESPN saying that talking to sources around the league he dosent believe that Kalil is a lock for the number 3 pick by the vikings. Since Cleveland has an All-Pro caliber tackle in Joe Thomas and Tampa has a bunch of money invested in Donald Penn, would you be willing to trade up to 5 and edge out St. Louis if this situation occurs? If we give our first and second pick (1780 pts) it should equal the 5 overall pick (1700 pts) according to the trade value chart. Personally I would love to since it means if we can get Levitre locked up we have our offensive and defensive lines set for the next five years. Your thoughts?
  2. I know its impossible that Nix would trade up to 3 and extremely improbable that Kalil falls to a pick where we can get him, but i just watched his first draft video on nfl.com and he's got some interesting connections to the Bills. -His Dad Frank Kalil was drafted in the 11th round with the 298th pick in the 1982 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills as an offensive guard. -Frank Kalil later moved to the USFL where he played center. There he snapped for and became friends with none other than Jim Kelly http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-first-draft/09000d5d827fc350/First-Draft-Matt-Kalil http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-first-draft/09000d5d827fc350/First-Draft-Matt-Kalil Again I dont think theres any way we get him but this stuff just makes me want him more,
  3. The point originally was to offer prospective trade options, meaning specific teams and picks for our #10 pick and reasons these teams would want #10. I added the poll after someone suggested it.
  4. Im aware how drafting works. The way I see it at ten the only options are a guard, a DUI loving receiver, and two tackles who are not ready to plug and play on the left side. I'm just wondering what team would reasonably trade up for our pick since many on the board seem to support a trade down. If you believe there is value at 10 what player do you think provides it, because I dont see it.
  5. I think that the consensus on this board is the most desirable option at pick #10 would be to trade down due to the complete lack of value at the pick. My question is what team would be willing to give up a mid-round pick in a very deep draft for the players at 10 that we find so undesirable. My only guess would be a team in the market for NT if Poe makes it past Carolina, since Kansas City's only option at nose is Kelly Gregg, who turns 36 this season, but still i believe a trade down is very unlikely because of the lack of value at 10.
  6. I disagree on the grounds that I dont think any team, especially one with our depth at tackle, can be "done" with a young left tackle entering the prime of his career.
  7. A one year deal. Its simple and works for everyone. A deal like this allows the Bills to get by this year since the tackles behind Kalil in the draft are clearly not ready to start at LT day one. This also gives them the breathing room to mature a younger tackle, such as Hairston, or my preference of spending a round 3 pick on a Bobbie Massie. For Bell this is also a great opportunity because despite his trips to Washington, Arizona, and Green Bay has emerged without a contract. This is most likely because his injury history greatly diminishes his worth. So my solution is a one year 4 million contract. If he can prove his injuries are behind him he's ready for his fat check and we're able to prepare for his departure.
  8. Its looking like the beginning of an epic defensive line with M.Williams-- K.Williams-- Dareus-- Anderson It needs a name and this is my vote. Despite the obvious rotation of Kelsay on run downs and Anderson on the pass. Thoughts?
  9. The Bills are riddled withe holes and the goal should be to fill those holes as soon as possible. Our most pressing needs are QB, LT, and NT. I would love to go snatch Wilfork or some other high profile guy but thats just not realistic in our situation. This is what i would do to turn around this franchise. I do not trust the bills scouting department. I do think that Nix will improve this area, but three months is not enough time to do this. I Would much rather try to get some lower profile but solid free agents. For quarterback i would sign Jason Campbell. He is a solid starter and not to mention cheap, as it looks Shanahan and Snyder will look for their quarterback in the draft. Next I would trade Drayton Florence and a Third round draft choice to the Ravens for the rights to Jared Gathier who will be a RFA. The Ravens are in desperate need of additions to their secondary and i though i do like Florence this team has too many needs to have so many solid corner backs. Once our most pressing issues are dealt with we can then turn to the draft. With the first pick I would trade down with a team either looking to snatch Rolando McClain or Dez Bryant before Miami and Denver can get a shot ( teams in win now mode like the Giants, who need a replacement for Antonio Pierce, or the Ravens who need a receiving threat opposite Derrik Mason) and then draft Dan Williams as our NT. The with the second pick take OT Charles Brown to shore up our o-line and with the third take a developmental QB like Tony Pike or Dan Lefevour (I Haven't seen enough of either of them to make an educated choice between them). Our final team would look like this. QB-Campbell RB-Jackson/Lynch WR-Evans WR-Johnson TE-Nelson LT-Gaither LG-Levitre C-Wood RG-Incognito RT-Brown DE-Stroud NT-D.Williams DE-K.Williams ROLB-Maybin RILB-Posluszny LILB-Mitchell LOLB-Schobel CB-McGee CB-McKelvin SS-Whitner FS-Byrd Not to shabby if I do say so myself.
  10. I have a minor problem with starting a rookie at left tackle. This is a position that takes experience, and i don't think that we should spend our 9th pick on the third or fourth rated tackle prospect. This is why i propose a trade. Right now Marcus MacNiel is going to be a restricted free agent. San Diego may not be able to resign him because of the massive number of high profile free agents they have in contract years and they also need a running back to replace the likely leaving Tomlinson. I propose a trade of Marshawn and a third round pick for the rights for Macniel. Then pay him like we should have paid peters last year. Worst case scenario he signs with someone else and we get a first and a third as compensatory picks. Then our line could be. LT- MacNiel LG- Levitre C- Wood RG- Incognito RT- Bell with competition from a free agent or draft pick
