  1. Special Teams is 1/3 of the game and we need playmakers. If Spiller can do it, then you got to let him play. Always put your best players on the field. Good things will happen. Injuries are part of this game.
  2. As always great stuff Bill. Looking forward to a successful season this year. Even if they go 2-14 we will still love the Bills.
  3. Because you want to put your best players on the field. The RB depth is pretty good. Even if Spiller is dinged they have others to step in. Good move by Marrone. This team needs a spark. CJ needs a spark.
  4. Not letting Flutie play in the playoffs and then not giving him the Job and instead going to Rob Johnson. I think that decision set this team back by many many years. Flutie was not the greatest QB, but he knew how to WIN ball games. Team members appreciate that he puts them in with a chance to win. Moulds was done. What did he do after being cut by the Bills....ZIP
  5. Or when we had Kelvin Sheppard !!
  6. I need to have this D show me that they can stop the Run. They haven't done in the past. It all starts up front in their ability to stop the run and put the ball in the air. While we put a lot of heat on the QB last year, we still sucked against the run. If Spikes can fix that part and give us another 50 yards advantage in the run game, the games will be different. They were 28th against the Run...Enough said.
  7. Geno Smith has exactly the same problems as EJ. There is a lack of confidence. The difference comes if either of the coaching staff can get the best out of the two teams in spite of their QB situation
  8. Don't forget the coaching. It is a big difference between the Pats and the Bills during the 15 year run. Their coaches have been able to coach up average talent on the OL to keep Brady upright and the time to throw. They have converted a lot of no-name players into good to superstars. Even the year they lost Brady, they went 11-5 with Cassell. Two years ago, Clayton had the same thought about the bills. He thought Fitz was mature enough to lead the team that had a very good DL and OL.
  9. I believe our former pro-bowl safety chose to walk away. He did not want to play in Buffalo.
  10. May be coaches feel that Adequate is not Enough!
  11. If that were the case, then he would have already jumped over those guys. i am sure Marrone and Whaley can evaluate talent better than us.
  12. And Mad Mex for some really good Mexican food.
  13. And we still have Goodwin who was terrific with the long ball.
  14. Sure they do. They have access to the play immediately on the printer. They know why they lost the game (or won for that matter). They do have the best position to view the game.
  15. The bills are already paying a ton of cash to Williams, Wood, Urbik and Pears. They will have to pay Glenn next year. There is no chance for them to trade for Alex Boone.
  16. Brandon Spikes ?? +1. And we know that Mario can demonstrate that intensity. He did it against the Panthers and Ravens, games that we won both times.
  17. +1. The time for the Bills to trade Spiller (If they intended) would have been on draft day, not three weeks into training camp. It will demotivate the players. We are not the Patriots that their team can overcome cutting a player like Milloy or trading their starting DE to Oakland.
  18. Isn't this team an extension of the team that finished 2013......and they appear to have the same problems in 2014. Everyone except Stevie and Byrd (of note) are returning from the previous season. It is not a leap of faith. and by the way Woods clearly said "Lack of focus" not Motivation.
  19. Cousins struggled mightily last year when give the opportunity to run the offense. That was the reason no trades for him developed in the off season. Another possible Rob Johnson "One Game Wonder" kid.
  20. Super. Thanks Wayne
  21. Besides the Wood vs Woods gaffe, I think honestly this team has failed due to lack of focus. So many games were lost because they couldn't focus on protecting the football, or not making the catch that will move the marker, or not making the throw to get the 1st down and kill the clock. We always talks about "if only xxx had done yyy on the play, we would have won" and a lot of times it is because they fail to focus. If Chandler and Stevie focused on protecting the football after the catch, we win at least two games last year.
  22. Here is a snippet from the Bills-Carolina Preview (Posted on buffalobills.coms) “A lot of the stuff was small details, not getting our depth on some routes and stuff like that,” said Robert Woods. “That just takes focus. We’ve got to pay attention to it in the game this Friday. But we’ve been able to get a lot of work in.” The NFL is a parity driven league and a game of inches. Games are won-lost by plays that are made and plays that were just missed respectively. The good teams are well coached and the players are focused in making their throws, catches, tackles, interceptions. The difference in talent level is minimal; It boils down to how they play every snap for SIXTY Minutes on game day. The Bills have been POOR at that Task. A lot of that is mental ability to stay focused and that comes from coaching. The reason a Brady or Manning are successful is because those minute details matter to them and that is the difference between an incomplete pass and a TD.
  23. I think this is where having a veteran QB like an Orton helps the growth of the young QB. That person is not only a mentor, he also acts effecitively as a QB coach. Many of these veteran QBs are backups because they did not have the arm strength to make it as a starting QB, but they have the cerebral side going. Many of the great QBs have benefited from this.
  24. Isn't that the reason he went undrafted. He simply did not have all the measurables.
