  1. Also, this OL has been decimated by injuries in camp and has been a patchwork line. The Bills just have to bite the tongue here, take the positives (Like the awesome Woods catch, the sack/fumble by the DL) and move on.
  2. Sorry for not being clear in what I meant. I meant which "Veteran Castoff" currently can take a team to the playoffs....None. Also, Peyton, Montanna, Cutler do not count as castoffs. The only player who did well in that list besides the obvious is Kurt Warner. He took the Cardinals to the SB and still lost it. The only player who won a SB (again besides Montana, Peyton) is Brad Johnson and that was with the strength of that defense in Tampa Bay.
  3. Who is this Veteran QB that you have in mind ? Veteran castoffs don't take team to playoffs. I want Marty Ball....
  4. Can TJ return punts? Have they tried him out there ?
  5. I really doubt Hogan gets ahead of Watkins, Williams and Woods. Woods is the most likely slot receiver on this team or he will inter-change a lot with Watkins when they line up. The Three Ws do give our opponents some match up issue. With Spiller and/or Jackson in the backfield, everything falls on Manuel and the OL to come through. You don't want EJ slowing down. You want the game to slow down for EJ. Different things.
  6. Promo I don't think Good teams need a Great QB to win; but they do need one good QB to manage the game. Wilson was just that for the Hawks last year. My fear on this team is the coaching staff; Do they have the right things to put this team in the right place mentally to win. Too often this team does not play 60 minutes of awareness football...The games against Atlanta, KC are good proof where we let the games slip. Good teams lock it down and take the win. That comes down to coaching.
  7. I see so many words and metaphors to describe Watkins. However, I still can't figure out what differentiates him from the rest of the WRs that were selected in the draft. He definitely does not have the height of a Megatron or Andre Johnson. What is it that really causes him to be an elite talent compared to the others. PS: This is not a rant against Watkins. I love the fact that the Bills traded up and drafted him. From an Xs and Os point of view I simply want to understand why he is different from the others.
  8. And/or take a flyer on a later round QB prospect.
  9. The biggest reason for success for Big Ben early on was his accuracy to put the ball where only his receiver could get it. And then that team had a ferocious defense under Dick LeBeau.
  10. The Running Game needs to kick in too. Too often they couldn't covert 3rd and short to keep the chain moving.
  11. We will know soon. The potential buyers have until end of this month to submit their bid.
  12. Don't forget the Raiders and Chargers. They are in the mix along with the Bills.
  13. Chandler Catches everything Watkins is the real deal Mysterious injury for Cordy Glenn Williams is a one-trick pony
  14. They are not babies to be coddling them. They are responsible adults who should be responsible for their life and money.
  15. The Will Smith signing is key. With Jones on the other side, the Pats just might be able to have that missing Pass Rush. I thought the Jets review was a a little weak. At this point, Geno is the starter for the Jets, not Vick. Also, Eric Decker did catch many passes and TD. Not sure if all of that is due to Peyton Manning; but until we find out, credit must be given to Decker.
  16. And that is why it would have made sense to send Stevie Johnson to Carolina and got a better pick than what we got from the 49ers.
  17. A guy who lived in Detroit kept the team here for 50 years.
  18. The Bills have tremendously athletic players in Spiller, Watkins, Goodwin who are unstoppable in space and some real good blockers in Freddie, Wood. It all goes back to the OL giving time for EJ Manuel and for EJ to be accurate to get the ball to these players. We have to find a way to move the chains and score. We lacked that sorely last year.
  19. I agree..Since the game is played once a week, it sets up so much anticipation over the rest of the week. It is almost how you are pinging for the WE to come when you are at work.
  20. See if Preston and Spikes can adequately replace Kiko the Legend!
  21. Born 10,000 miles and years away from the Buffalo Bills, but landed in the vicinity and became a fan. My attachment to this team started when I stared at the screen watching wide right...that made me sympathize for this team and has been on its bandwagon every since.....Nothing beats the thought of looking at a fresh season with hope./.....Go Bills.
  22. I just don't know if this team will have an All-Pro, at least for this year. This is still an emerging team dealt with another change in defensive philosophy, lost its best play maker in the secondary (Byrd), lost its best player on defense (Kiko) and an offense that is yet to prove. If they make the playoffs that will be because the team got better as a whole. There will be no one that raises above the others.
  23. I disagree. The biggest problem in Pettine's defense was that he could not stop the Run (28th) and get off the field on 3rd and longs. If Scwartz can fix those two with the new talent (Spikes, Rivers and Rookie Preston), then may be the defense will improve. The entire DL is coming back intact and have already shown that they can adjust. After all this team switched from a 4-3 just last year to Pettine's 3-4 and that front line did not miss a beat.
