I am sure everyone have their opinions on the MVP of the game...It could be Corey Graham for handling the CB spot admirably, or Fred Jackson's 38 yard sprint that clinched the game. To me it was Robert Woods. He was open all day and made some tough catches. He provided EJ the opportunity to go downfield and connect

We lost 65 total yards in penalties
ganesh replied to mitchmurraydowntown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The worst was that a majority of those 9 came in the 3rd quarter which was the worst for the Bills. They kept shooting themselves in the foot. To make it worse I think the bears actually declined about 3 more fouls. -
Good overall gameplan, a little sloppy at times
ganesh replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. This team was positive and made a few more plays than the Bears and that is reflected in the final score. I still thought the Bills did some bad stuff that could have almost cost them the game, 1. EJ was still inaccurate with some of his passes; Quite a few times Woods and Williams bailed him out, The pass to Chandler in the first quarter was bad and the long ball to Watkins was way overthrown. 2. The Running game struggled for most part of regulation time. The line was not able to open up any lanes to run. 3. While Spikes and Rivers played well, Preston was taken to school by Matt Forte repeatedly 4. McKelvin dropped a possible game clinching TD, let the ball drop through his hands. 5. Penalties really killed this team today; while a few of them were bogus calls, I still think the team was ill disciplined. 6. Watkins has tremendous skills and the Bills need to throw to him more often. He will find a way to get to that ball. -

This grass field sucks. But why are only the Bills slipping all over the place. -

That is insane. The front seven has been putting lots of pressure. Mario and Spikes have a sack each. The DBs could play a little better -

has to protect the football and throw it away -

Wood should have caught it. I am more upset with the play calling on that 3rd down. You got to put people in the end zone and throw it up there for a Mike Williams to grab it. -

and defending the TE too. -
But I guess a guarded optimism is not to be expected from the Buffalo News folks. The sully article was just plain stupid.

The bills are known to make stupid mistakes on the road. Can they cut it down. Can they show some emotions coming out of the gate. Can the Pass rush get to Cutler. Can Manuel connect with Woods/Watkins/Williams. Can Spiller and Jackson run the ball effectively. Can our DBs hold down.

My Annual Thank You Post, and a few thoughts.....
ganesh replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your post annually reminds me on our life with the Buffalo Bills. Here we go again: SuperBowl weekend - Cautiously peek at who is playing. Sit and wait to see if one of the 90's Bill will make it to the HOF. Disappointed that someone else went over them. Can't wait for FA. FA - Excited at prospect of who will come to Buffalo. Looking for the Cab driver in the Airport to give a scoop. There is excitement and disappointment of who-is-who were at OBD. Combine - Read and watch NFL networks boring coverage of 40 yard dash and lifting weights. Waiting for statement on who the Bills met and spoke. Wonderlic scores curiosity sets in. THe Big Draft Weekend - Optimism soars here after the draft. Even disappointed picks are turned into we could hit Jackpot kind of feeling. Can't feel better. Mini-camp/Workouts/Whatever-the-NFL-calls them - Hoping to see an improvement in the play. Hear about a spectacular play and how coaching staff comes in. Dull and Dreary Pre-Season - Every year, we cannot score TDs; cannot defend Run plays....ALl the bitching about the team Can't wait for the Season Opener - Optimism is highest on Week 1. End of the day, we are reminiscing a 1-point win or a 3-point loss. A key player is always injured. As the season goes, the optimism goes south and sours by THanksgiving weekend!....By then the Bills are out of the playoffs...We start talking about College bowls and College QBs. It is time for the offseason again. Now it is time for the highest optimism.....Go Bills. -
Insights Gleaned from the SEA-GB Game
ganesh replied to Rivermont Mike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And that is possible if the OL can hold off the DL and give the time for WRs to get to their positions. Our OL is a big problem with consistency. Again at the end of the day the small plays here and there make a big difference. That was the biggest diferrence between a Flutie Vs Johnson or Edwards vs Losman or Edwards Vs Fitzpatrick. I think we did do that to Flutie and Bledsoe. Bledsoe went on to have a few good seasons with Dallas and Flutie did a few good tricks down in San Diego. -
Special Teams is 1/3 of the game and we need playmakers. If Spiller can do it, then you got to let him play. Always put your best players on the field. Good things will happen. Injuries are part of this game.

As always great stuff Bill. Looking forward to a successful season this year. Even if they go 2-14 we will still love the Bills. -
Because you want to put your best players on the field. The RB depth is pretty good. Even if Spiller is dinged they have others to step in. Good move by Marrone. This team needs a spark. CJ needs a spark.

In the past 14 years (without Playoffs), what's your favorite OBD
ganesh replied to mdk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not letting Flutie play in the playoffs and then not giving him the Job and instead going to Rob Johnson. I think that decision set this team back by many many years. Flutie was not the greatest QB, but he knew how to WIN ball games. Team members appreciate that he puts them in with a chance to win. Moulds was done. What did he do after being cut by the Bills....ZIP -
Or when we had Kelvin Sheppard !!

90% of all topics about the O , no talk about the D
ganesh replied to mead107's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I need to have this D show me that they can stop the Run. They haven't done in the past. It all starts up front in their ability to stop the run and put the ball in the air. While we put a lot of heat on the QB last year, we still sucked against the run. If Spikes can fix that part and give us another 50 yards advantage in the run game, the games will be different. They were 28th against the Run...Enough said. -
Mike & Mike Projection - AFC East / Bills
ganesh replied to Kipers Hair's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Geno Smith has exactly the same problems as EJ. There is a lack of confidence. The difference comes if either of the coaching staff can get the best out of the two teams in spite of their QB situation -
Anybody hear John Clayton's comments this morning?
ganesh replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't forget the coaching. It is a big difference between the Pats and the Bills during the 15 year run. Their coaches have been able to coach up average talent on the OL to keep Brady upright and the time to throw. They have converted a lot of no-name players into good to superstars. Even the year they lost Brady, they went 11-5 with Cassell. Two years ago, Clayton had the same thought about the bills. He thought Fitz was mature enough to lead the team that had a very good DL and OL. -
I believe our former pro-bowl safety chose to walk away. He did not want to play in Buffalo.
