Bills could play entire AFC playoffs at home
ganesh replied to BITE ME's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We have to take care of our end of the bargain first. Our hands will be full trying to stop Jackson and his TEs. -
Looked up at the similar comparison for our next possible opponents... Steelers: 12th in Team Offense, 3rd in Team Defense, 17th in Special Teams Titans: 4th in Team Offense, 24th in Team Defense, 31st in Special Teams Ravens: 7th in Team Offense, 2nd in Team Defense, 6th in Special teams Bills: 2nd in Team Offense, 16th in Team Defense, 11th in Special Teams And the Chiefs: 6th in Team Offense, 11th in Team Defense, 1st in Special Teams As per these rankings, Ravens would be the toughest opponents.

How Good or Bad was our Defense,Really?

Agreed. Thsi game sounded a lot like the game against the Rams. -
why didn't Yeldon play in the Miami game. Wouldn't it benefit to have got him some reps.

Someone posted on another thread that is pretty amazing... The Colts lowest score their last nine games was 24 points; against the Bills and the Steelers. We outscored a pretty efficient offense, BTW, the Steelers won 28-24.....it is going to be one helluva divisional round. Go Bills.

Josh Allen - This is the reason we drafted Allen and he made it count today. 0-5 in the playoffs.....not anymore. -

Poyer and Hyde played outstanding today. Our LBs were shredded and could neither stop the run nor get in coverage against their 3 big TEs, -
We went against one of the best OL in the league. The Bills got a taste of their own medicine...This is how other defenses feel playing against Josh Allen behind our OL.
-
They had a chance to play Yeldon and give him all the carries against Miami. They did not and went to Williams. I have to assume that at this point Williams gets the call this time.
-
And he went head to head against another Rookie kicker and came out the winner. Great catch Bass.

Did McKenzie play any snaps today??

I think the Colts were playing the wide 9 defense eliminating the ability to go the sideline. Beasley is always better to slip off to get behind the line -

Singletary made a key block on the Diggs TD throw to allow Allen to stay in the pocket, Outstanding block -
playoff intensity is very different than regular season games. Tua and Rivers are not in the same league as of today. The Colts ran the ball down our throats effectively and converted on 3rd and long consistently including the last drive.

Great write up. Completely agree with you. This was a game for Josh Allen to show up. Other than the final sack, he was composed and boy he threw rainbows, That Colts D line was ferocious; their Linebackers were ready. There was not much room for error. Allen lit them up. This is the type of game for which the Bills drafted Allen and he delivered. Playoffs are a different ball game than regular season. The intensity is different; the quality of opposition (11-5) is huge. We have choked at 5 attempts in 25 years, today we won because we had that guy who delivered. Our Prince is growing up towards that crown. Go Bills.

This play reminded me so much of the Rothelisberger shoe string tackle (against the Colts) of Nick Harper after Bettis fumbled at the Goal line with a few minutes to go, That tackle helped force Manning to drive back for FG range and the then greatest kicker in football missed the FG. Here we are driving to ice the game and put it away. Instead, we almost gave it to them.

Credit to Leslie Frazier on that final possession

The Colts OL was dominant. They protected the QB and opened holes for their RB. Our Pass Rush was exposed and we paid for our blitzing on so many 3rd and 7s
