  1. In psych 101 they teach the Fundamental Attribution Error. Basically, it means that when observers see somebody do something a few times, they attribute it to that person's character, rather than whatever situation they are dealing with at that time. Gabe has been an ultra-clutch performer his entire career. He started extremely strong, but the last few weeks, coinciding with the rest of the team fighting through injuries and adversity, is going through a slump of his own and dealing with drops, likely related to rushing back from an injury. Now, many fans are saying that Gabe is "not a WR2 and should stay a WR4" or that he is "unreliable". We all know about recency bias, but sometimes I am just AWED at the ability of some people to completely forget the unbelievable things somebody has done and give up on them the moment they go through a slump, no matter how uncharacteristic it is. Gabe had a solid game yesterday. Had a drop on a difficult catch/great DB play. But now of course, he's dealing with the narrative being given to him by fans. Fans don't realize this, but by putting this narrative on his shoulders, they are making the mental climb out of his hole even MORE difficult than it has to be, rather than showing support. There is such a thing as the 12th man, but fans like to think it is only a positive effect. I'd argue the 12th man is having it's own case of the dropsies when they start turning on great players going through tough times. The fans are only hurting themselves. Let's hope Davis is more emotionally disciplined than the fanbase.
  2. Hit the nail on the head. Easy to tell who is successful in real life and who isn't on this board.
  3. 4 weeks ago Allen was the favorite. Mahomes' fortunes could change in 4 weeks as well.
  4. Ignore the losers.
  5. He's a very good 2. All of you have flip flopped. It's embarrassing and will be even moreso by playoff time when he's recovered from whatever is ailing him.
  6. I'm stunned at how fast the fanbase has given up on Davis because he's going through a slump, likely due to some injury. All of you will flip flop on him by the end of the year. Ridiculous.
  7. Absolute idiots.
  8. The fame won't go away if he remains the best. And that fame requires he do endorsements and attends events. Instead, he needs to get used to it and learn how to play at a high level with the distractions.
  9. I think fans are starting to project their own lack of confidence onto Allen. My suggestion? Go root for another team. Any team Carson Wentz is on, preferably.
  10. I was having this thought the other day. As time goes on, the NFL needs to make game integrity their #1 priority. They have always been wishy washy over the decades with refs and penalties and reviews and etc. They have had a very authoritative stance for a long time. "Yes, it was the correct call. End of conversation." "We stand by the ref's decision." "The play is not reviewable!" But now being OFFICIALLY in bed with Vegas, the fans will start tuning out. For example, that hold... In a game with so few penalties... There's just too much murkiness and shadiness. And those calls to "New York". Those refs dressed in black during the Texans game. I mean, this isn't the military, right? Why so much compartmentalization of information? Why not make everything open-source? They're building autonomous cars and drones and robots for crying out loud. All sports AI needs is funding. My thoughts about the next 10-20 years: 1. Invest billions into AI that tracks the ball and field to a minute level. No more question about 1st downs, balls crossing the goal line, etc. 2. Add sensors to all players. No more question about who was in bounds or not, who was Offside first, etc. 3. Build pressure sensor technology and adjust to agreed upon levels. Everyone will know when it was holding or pass interference. 4. Make all of this data OPEN-SOURCE to the public so there is 100% transparency. All yearly rule changes will be added to the AI and given out to all teams and players to practice in the off-season. Give this to varsity and college leagues so the players can also learn to adapt. 5. There will be no more inconsistent calls or poor human judgement or "oh, I didn't see that". It will also end flopping. 6. Over time penalties will DECREASE since all players will have their muscle memory tuned into exactly what a penalty is or isn't. The AI will always be adjusted with some give so there isn't constant penalties. 7. This would be the end of poor calls. Since the data from every game will be released immediately (think of how All-22 is released now), Youtubers and 3rd parties could check every play and confirm that the AI was running correctly with the correct measurements. The only thing we would need refs for is breaking up fights and calling unsportsmanlike penalties. No more allegations of game fixing, no more "incompetent refs", no more "stop whining you loser fans".
  11. There is truth there, but Allen still threw that INT on the 1st drive of the game. The Jets won today because of this: - Strong Jets D-Line - Careless and overconfident Allen - Milano/Poyer out - Giving Wilson an easy game (little blitz, easy outlet/screen passes, wide open runs for 1st down) - Poor run defense - Davis drops - Not even attempting a running game The Jets have good trenches. My opinion is that we lose today because Allen was careless and Wilson wasn't tested.
  12. Most MVPs have a couple stinkers. Allen still had 2 TDs. End the season on a high note and it's his, despite what some emotional fans might say this week.
  13. Anybody see the holding on Dawkins at the end? That better have been legitimate penalty. That ended our game.
  14. Yeah once you get in your 20s you learn how to stand up for yourself, bluff that you're going to fight, and then both sides walk away with their dignity intact. In your 30s fights aren't really necessary anymore unless it's a serious situation. It's also a class thing. For example, people growing up in certain countries never really stop fighting. Should Kamara be involved in hotel hallway fights? No. Was he instigated? Probably. Should he have walked away or let his entourage/security handle it? Of course. But these are men who bang their heads and bodies at full speed against giant men for a living. Maybe the problem is with us for expecting better behavior out of them?
  15. The delivery of the insults was off. They didn't land for whatever reason. Switching back to nice talk and then angry again was alright in theory, but maybe the problem was they needed funnier actors. I also think that it makes Bills fans look like schmucks to the national public. A funnier skit would have been a fanbase having a lame, boring tailgate and then Bills Mafia shows up and turns it upside down. That would've been a great introduction to Bills Mafia for America and been a lot more memorable and talked about. Instead it was just so weak and lame. Forced laughter. The only humor came when they showed the Bills fans they were yelling out being kids or pregnant women. And even then a snicker.
  16. Nobody here has ever been in a fight? Maybe I'm old-fashioned or I've seen too much, but that video was rated G.
  17. Thad is just disconnected. And seems more interested in Thad than becoming a true member of Bills Mafia.
  18. My friends that root for other teams have said that about Allen. I don't think he does it as much as say, Mahomes. But he does his share. We're going to win on Sunday regardless.
  19. Why not two? I didn't realize it was one or the other.
  20. Ultra elite talent if healthy. Remember Moss going to Pats? This has potential to be iconic.
  21. Who cares. Let them lose.
  22. Let's just win a Super Bowl so we don't have to deal with all this loser wisdom. "All this disappoint has taught me..." Whatever.
  23. Watch Four Falls again to understand. That 4th loss took the soul of the city with it. Only a win will bring it back. Some fans want the team to fail because they're just haters and enjoy the suffering. Probably in their personal lives as well. I'm generally a very optimistic poster. I think we will win Sunday. But I also know we're going to see Rodgers' A game Sunday night. Whatever that is in 2022. The key is balance. As always. This board will be a very different place after we win the SB this year. And that change will be permanent.
  24. It's a coronation season for Allen and the Bills. This is what the path to greatness looks like.
  25. I'm not saying he's going to beat us. Just that we shouldn't be foolish to dismiss him based on the weekly media cycle.
