  1. been enjoying the content on these streaming services which are accessible through many library systems. Lots of great retro and foreign films kanopy hoopla
  2. don't tell Greta
  3. Ronnie van Zandt from Lynyrd Skynyrd?
  4. I presume Phillips leaving will net us a compensatory pick. The fact that we were able to coach him up to what was likely his best year as a pro speaks volumes about how well Beane and McDermott compliment each other. To get compensation for a player who before getting here was marginal is to create value from next to nothing. I'm sure Phillips worked hard for his new contract and I wish him well. I also have no doubt that Beane and McDermott know that he was the beneficiary of his teammates play rather than the sole reason for his increased sack numbers.
  5. I don't agree with Montana's read. This isn't about having input. BB doesn't give players input so suddenly TB leaves because he doesn't have input after 17 years? That doesn't wash. He wanted to be paid his market value on his last deal and he was willing to leave the protective cocoon of the Patriots to do so. Not only did he want to be paid market value, I think he wanted to do so in new surroundings to put the notion to rest that he is a system QB who can't function without the machinations of the Prince of Darkness. This is about pride and legacy on both Brady's and Belichick's part and it will be very interesting to watch it unfold. To quote ACDC, we are going to find out Who made Who.
  6. I can't see Jacksonville gift wrapping the starting job to Minshew They will draft a QB and bring in a veteran. I'd bet on Newton I can see Brissett going back to NE
  7. it is very gratifying to see the Decade of Fail in the rear view mirror. Clappy has got us into the postseason in two of three seasons with teams that were shall we say at less than peak performance. The thing I am most excited about is the unity of purpose and aligned modes of thinking of our organization. Beane and Clappy are thinking as one entity and we actually have a talent recognition and evaluation system that assesses whether a prospect is a fit for our organization culture. Speaking of organizational culture, we actually have one now. Shipping out talented but troubled players like Marcel Darius and Zay Jones was the first clue that this was serious. Little things like getting rid of pool tables sent a message. I can't overstate the importance of that compared to the Decade of Fail. The Whaley/Nix era was marked by signings for whom the most important criteria was the player's willingness to come to Buffalo. If the player answered in the affirmative we usually overpaid by 25% to keep them. The signings of Shawn Merriman, Derrick Dockery and Kawika Mitchell were but a few examples of players motivated by little more than a final kick at the can and a final cash grab. The work of building culture is far from done. When I see predictions of us overtaking the Pats in the AFCE I hesitate because whatever the talent advantage we may have, we still do not have the institutional memory of New England in knowing what to do to win meaningful games. We have some painful mountains to climb to get to that point psychologically. Only a homer would say that our offense did anything but ride the coat tails of our defense in 2019. We have not arrived at a place where we are winning games decisively as opposed to playing not to lose. Still, the corner has been turned. I have full confidence in McDermott and Beane in getting us the rest of the way but only a fool expects a path without some pain in getting there.
  8. How about we wait till he earns it
  9. CBS shouldn't float garbage like this. It's about as likely as an alien smoke ring over Denver
  10. I stand with the dissenters who like Newton. Sure he's got a big ego and he backs it up too. It ain't bragging if you do it. He broke Peyton Manning's rookie passing records and people are comparing him to Andy Dalton. Those people can get their eyesight checked when they get their Covid 19 tests. He brought a mediocre offensive squad to a SB and it was all him - junk receivers and RBs. Flamboyant wardrobes don't make you a thug. If he regains his health he can have a John Elway type career. I predict a Kurt Warner like resurgence on his next assignment - as long as it isn't Cincy.
  11. The one about the Whitetail deer Hunter with Josh Brolin was very good
  12. Hey Beane, you can't let other teams poach these priceless Panther castoffs!
  13. we'll know for sure that Belichick is the spawn of Satan when he fires his son. If not, they can star in the next sequel to the Omen franchise
  14. I think Singletary is a smaller Kamara type, no?

  17. I was brought to tears many times as well
  18. I just watched the Trials of Gabriel Fernandez. This was the most difficult thing I have ever watched in my life. Without exaggeration or sarcasm, it is emotionally traumatizing. If you're going to watch it, give yourself some time emotionally to recover afterward because you will need it.
  19. every episode is a new level of crazy
  20. this is an organization that went to the playoffs with Tyrod Taylor at QB so that's a strong yes. It will be interesting to see for how long Josh is the unchallenged starter and how long he is given to win the job as a legacy QB
  21. we have a solid organization now. Our coach and GM are aligned. We have two years of playoff experience and what appears to be a franchise QB. Stefon Diggs would have ran the other way in the decade of fail
  22. Keep up the good work Sean
