I agree that he looks fast in the tape that I’ve seen, but I am very concerned that many of his touches are on passes within 5 yards of LOS and on run plays. Does he have the tools to become a good WR? Yes, I think so, but I worry that his route running and experience are limited to the point that he won’t be much of an asset in year one and there is risk that he never develops as a WR.

I think Long is deserving of HOF. We might not like him, but he was really good.

How fast is Josh Allen and can he get faster?

I am nowhere near giving up on Dawson Knox. He showed a lot of potential, imho. -
Free Agency - March 18 - Who do you want?

I don’t think I want Amari Cooper who 2 teams would have parted with in 4 years. Robbie Anderson maybe, but he isn’t much different than John Brown (IMHO), but is younger. Edit: just saw the post above about Anderson. Draft is the place now o hopefully help Bills’ WR position. I don’t think Ngakoue is a realistic possibility with the price he will command, but him instead of Shaq Lawson AND Jordan Phillips might be an option, but not sure I wouldn’t prefer Lawson and Phillips. Would like to resign Kevin Johnson, Lawson and Phillips over most others on that list. Phillips seriously was good last year and Lawson has developed into a good, not great starting DE. Johnson is a good depth corner. -

I’m not fully sold on Shenault based on what I’ve seen so far. It looks like a high percentage of his catches are within a 5 yards of LOS. That doesn’t necessarily mean that he can’t get open/make plays further downfield, but for a 1st round pick, I’d want to see more direct evidence that he can. I look back to DJ Metcalf last year - he appeared to outplay his draft position and dispel the supposed negatives that pushed him well into round 2. Yet, he made many more downfield plays in college than I’ve seen so far from Shenault. I am open to change my opinion with more information, but at this point I would not touch Shenault in round 1.

Is there a Debo Samuels clone in this draft? If yes, please take him in round 1.

What do you see in Shenault that makes you want him there? I’m not anti-Shenault, but he seems all-athlete and little development at WR. I’m NOT an expert, but many of his plays that I’ve seen are passes within 5 yards of the line and run plays. He looks to be a great athlete, but I have not seen him get open (in limited views) other than a few deep balls and on very short passes. Can he be good? The physical talent is surely there and his hands look decent, however, from what I’ve seen, I see a guy who is going to need considerable development before he can be a big contributor in the NFL. If I am looking for someone who will aid Allen’s development next season, I don’t think he is it.

Who Is Your Least Favorite Bill of All Time ... and Why?
OldTimer1960 replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Billy Joe Hobert - embarrassingly admitted that he hadn’t bothered to study the plays for the game after he came off the bench to play (and he played terribly). -
Last year someone posted a link to a database of videos of many prospects. Is there a similar site up for 2020 prospects?

Playoff #1 Bills @ Texans PostGame Thread
OldTimer1960 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A few hours after the game and the pain of the loss has lessened... This team over-achieved this year. The defense was built first and held up its end of the bargain in almost all games, including this one. The offense was known to be a work in progress and it showed all season and in this playoff game. Josh Allen is a raw physical freak, but it is yet to be seen if he can become a top flight passer. Today, his OL and mediocre supporting group let him down, but he wasn’t able to elevate his team’s play, either. Bills need a very good receiver to complement Brown and Beasley. I think Knox will be a good starting TE and Sweeney a good #2. Future rests mostly on whether Allen can become a good NFL passer. He made a lot of progress this season, but he has LOTS of room for improvement. Offseason should be spent watching tape of Brady and learning how to take what is available rather than playing hero ball. He MUST learn to throw the anticipation passes rather than waiting for guys to break open. If he improves 30% in those areas, he can be great.
