  1. Bills need another good WR that can get open. I don’t think he has to be especially tall - just good.
  2. I hope that they can retain Lawson. I think he is a good starting De (not great, but good)
  3. All for camp competition, but that being said, the Bills currently have 2 legit NFL WRs in Brown and Beasley and 1 full time special team player with 3 fringe NFL guys in Foster, Williams and McKenzie. They need a legitimate starting caliber WR to play with Brown and Beasley. Ideally, they bring in one very good WR to start with Brown and Beasley and one competent guy to challenge Williams, Foster and McKenzie - hopefully the 2nd new guy can displace one of those 3. i don’t think that Cam Phillips is either of the guys I described, but he is a try-hard guy to provide camp competition
  4. No question, Bills do need a replacement for Lorenzo. Maybe last year's draftee is the answer, maybe not. I wonder if Bills can really afford to tie all that up in LB - Milano is going to get paid and they invested a #1+ to get Edmunds. Can they justify another #1/#2 pick on another LB? I'm not sure that I see Oliver being a good alternative outside at DE - sure on occasion to throw a curve to the offense, but I don't think he would scare most OTs out there on a regular basis. What you propose to pay Perriman is much more than I think he is worth - I could of course be wrong, but I don't see any production over his time in the league to justify that kind of contract. Is he worth gambling a smaller contract on based on his physical tools and encouraging finish to last season? Yeah, maybe, but I think bringing him here is more *hope* than expectation of getting much from him.
  5. I think the idea of moving down from 22, perhaps even into the top 10 or so of the 2nd round is a potentially good strategy given that the Bills are in the WR market (and other markets as well). They likely won't have a shot at Ruggs, Juedy or Lamb at 22. There are many here who don't like Tee Higgins (I'm not sure why) and I don't see Shenault as a real WR at this point - watch a few of his games and many of his touches come on runs and on passes within +/- 5 yards of the line of scrimmage - that doesn't say NFL 1st round pick to me. There are purportedly a lot of WR candidates that will have 2nd round grades that they could hopefully nab one of early in round 2 then double back with their own 2nd on another position or double down on WR.
  6. I've seen several posts mention Perriman, but I don't understand the interest. He is a high draft choice bust who had a few good games late last year. I think he is more likely fool's gold than someone who suddenly broke through to good play. Baun may be good, but how would he fit in Bills' D. If he is 245 at the combine, it seems unlikely that he could maintain that in the NFL give what he played at in college - and even if he does, that is very light for a NFL DE. If you are thinking LB, I think the team has much bigger needs.
  7. Too risky even in round 2 for my blood. The Bills are close to being real contenders and they can’t afford a whiff early. He looks like a real top athlete, but that is D2 competition that he is running all over. How would he look against top level D1 schools? Would he even be a starter, let alone a star, in the SEC or Big 10? He may end up being good in the NFL, but with no tape against good D1 competition, I would take my chances in the top 2 rounds on players who you can see against top college competition.
  8. I respect your knowledge and scouting - how can you tell if his tape is great against that level of competition? He clearly has NFL size and speed, so he SHOULD look great in D2. The only relevant competition he has faced was at the Senior Bowl. I’m not saying that he can’t be great - only that drafting him will be based almost entirely on size/athletic traits and that is risky.
  9. I think this is a little too optimistic- what are there, 4 WR pro bowlers on each of the NFC and AFC squads? Unfortunately, Bills will have no shot at him.
  10. The difficulty with scouting him is that most backups from Bama, Ohio State, LSU and other D1 schools would dominate D2 competition as well. Dugger dominating that level only says that he passed that low bar. That he reportedly showed well at the Senior Bowl is positive, but doesn’t automatically make him a first round candidate. On the downside, he will be 24 years old before the draft. Unless he tests totally through the roof, it would take big b*lls for a GM to take him even in round 2.
  11. Some of these other teams have real star WRs who draw extra attention from defenses and that leaves space for role players to occasionally get open and make a play. The Bills have no offensive weapon that draws extra attention from defenses that would open up space for guys like Foster, Williams or McKenzie.
  12. I don’t mind the idea of adding a RB - I think they need another because Singletary isn’t built to withstand 20 touches per game, but Howard seems to be fading (though young) and the Bears dumped him even though they have no decent RBs. Howard also doesn’t ring much as a receiver out of the backfield (I don’t think). Would Howard be any better than just playing TJ Yeldon?
  13. They didn’t use anymore weapons because they didn’t have any. Foster, Williams and McKenzie are fringe roster guys that you hope to get along with- they are not guys that you design plays to get the ball to. Even with Beasley and Brown, the Bills’ current WR group is bottom 25% of the league.
  14. It isn't that a 3rd round WR can't pan out, but you certainly have better odds of satisfactorily filling a need in earlier rounds. I am not opposed to a WR in the 1st or 2nd AND another in round 3, but I think they would be taking a big chance by not bringing in a viable FA and also waiting until round 3 to take a WR. If they do that, they are once again not giving Allen enough talent around him to determine if he can be the long-term answer at QB.
  15. While I do recognize that the team has needs beyond WR, I can’t see how you can possibly ignore that huge need. Brown and Beasley are nice, but there isn’t even a young WR on the roster that you even have a *hope* that he could be impactful beyond them. I understand that this is being touted as a very deep WR class, but that should not entice them to get cute and wait until the bottom third of round 3 to address it. I think that is just begging for not filling that need - at least in 2020.
  16. There is no way that I would like that deal. I would be uncomfortable trading 22 and 54 to move up for Lamb. For sure, the Bills need to upgrade weapons around Allen, but even their one and two is too steep for me.
  17. No expert here, but I am leery of shenault. I can see why some like the upside, but from what I’ve seen, many catches near line of scrimmage. If that is the game, I don’t see round 1. Again, I can see why his physical talent is enticing.
  18. I was hoping that they could sign Olsen for a year’s good play and mentorship, but I am not down on Knox and Sweeney - I think both showed promise- especially Knox. I think he will address the drops which I think (Hope?) were mostly due to being too anxious to start running before securing the catch. I really think Knox has very good size and speed and we also saw some “want to” on some plays.
  19. This scenario may have happened to the Bills a few years ago when the Jets traded up to 3rd early in the process effectively blocking the Bills from having the optio to move up for Darnold. Now, we’ll never know if the Bills actually wanted Darnold over Allen, but that maneuver gave the Jets their pick of them.
  20. Detroit currently has pick 3 sitting behind Washington at 2. There are rumors, denied by Lions, that they are talking about trading Matt Stafford. Might the Lions want to swap picks with Washington and take Tua? I know that Miami has far more trade assets, but if Washington wants Chase Young, they could trade down 1 spot, say for Detroit's 1 & 2 and still take Young. This is just complete speculation on my part and a bit of wishing to keep Miami from getting Tua.
  21. Agreed - I was only commenting that one of the reasons that Watkins was traded was to get something for an asset that they would have lost the next year with nothing in return.
  22. Watkins was traded before he hit FA because the team was not going to sign him long-term and also to stockpile draft picks. Njoku isn’t on his last year of his contract (I don’t think) and Browns already have a lot of young talent on the roster.
  23. Hamler is certainly extremely quick. How fast do you expect him to run at the combine?
  24. I think no I would not trade up for Lamb. Pending FA, Bills will have a number of holes to fill including WR, OL, DE, possibly DT. i am all for trying to get top offensive play makers, but I don’t know that Lamb is so good that he justifies trading their 2nd pick for. Now, if they resign Jordan Phillips and Shaq Lawson and add to the OL in FA, then maybe trading up for a WR is a reasonable plan...
  25. Agree that there is no particular reason that he won’t develop, but he isn’t near a finished product. That alone doesn’t mean he isn’t wort pick 22 - all picks are an attempt to optimize unproven upside with proven skills. Some teams value what a player has already proven (floor) more than upside (ceiling), while other teams invert that. There have certainly been hits and misses with both approaches. From my vantage point, in Allen’s 3rd year I would like to give him a weapon that is polished enough to contribute significantly this year - mainly so that a fair and realistic assessment of whether Allen can be a long term answer can be made.
