  1. I don’t know why but it still surprises me that as they watch the eagles, rams, chiefs in the playoffs that some fans still think it’s a 5 year rebuild process in today’s nfl. The one I quoted was totally ruling out year 3 under McD and only maybe in year 4? If you believe that you need to be calling for heads.
  2. If not next year, not happening with this regime. Second year with a hand chosen qb ridiculous cap space AND a high pick? I’m not saying the expectation is the Super Bowl but it shouldn’t end up seeming out of the realm of possibilities. You should be budgeting for playoff tickets at this crossroads
  3. I could swear he did an interview where he seemed disappointed/frustrated about not getting a call from Buffalo once the deal expired
  4. Crazy drive - with the penalties they had to put up about 180 yards
  5. Looks like the rest the starters week 17 and bye week rust is off should be a heck of a second half. If brees and ginn get it together it could be a big day. Bree’s is what 1-5? 1-6? With a pick and a near pick throwing to him and left two tds on the table. It’s looked horrific though. Saints receivers and defenders other than Michael Thomas look completely lost looking for the ball really consistently.
  6. I’m curious what/if he was
  7. They signed and cut/traded graham and gallette 1 year later too. Tooooons of dead money. Blaming drew would be like blaming McCoy for our cap issues. Maybe not an ideal contract every year but a good player and ignoring $40m+ of dead money. Saints wr group is pretty patchy too
  8. Was he actually offered to stay though?
  9. I didn’t disagree largely. but JA is still a rookie and a single RB who i do think is aging doesn’t really refute my point. I think that our pass catchers were a gap between us and any other unit as far as quality while I think that the line was just normal bad. And RB was at best middle of the pack. As much as anything though I was pointing out that those other lines probably don’t look GREAT with this offense. Outside of JA running and fister down the stretch we didn’t have much that dictated to the other team and that’s going to get everyone (line included) beat up.
  10. We definitely need to help the talent up front but those teams all have good qb play and more weapons all around. We always do the “if Mahomes was here” analogy but there’s some truth to “if our line was in kc they probably wouldn’t be 32” also. Our whole offense needs a talent infusion. Below average blockers for below average playmakers being led by a rookie qb was a clear path to a bad unit.
  11. I may not be remembering right, and it’s a weird google search to really get results on... but I seem to recall that we didn’t even offer him a contract, no?
  12. Ill keep saying it: we are entering our prime 3 year window to win. If we don’t enter September talking about 10+ wins as the expectation, somethings gone terribly wrong.
  13. I haven’t watched him specifically but much like I bring up “soooomebody is going to get 800+ yards even if a bad player in a bad offense- there are going to be 3000 yards spread somewhere” similar can be said the other way. When you have 5-6 major threats ahead of you, you can be a very good player with a boring stat line. No idea on this kid but in evaluating the KC backup tight end, production is low on my list of places to have expectations
  14. If we didn’t actively try to keep him it’s really semantics whether he was let go or left. If we didn’t offer him anything meaningful I’d even say you are making a point that could be detrimental to the discussion though technically correct.
  15. It’s largely not a real goal currently. Even the best defenses don’t reflect what people think of “elite defense”
  16. Must suck to be the #2 seed ?
  17. That might be the first time the first guys been called
  18. I’d love to see Dallas in the dome next week
  19. I’m normally a bigger Sammy fan than most here but to lose THAT ball in the playoffs is unbelievable. Even if it comes out he landed with arms around it and didn’t pull it back in?!?
  20. To be fair- we could’ve given him a ton more talent.
  21. Touché. Regardless of how the picks match up though, it’s how it’ll be remembered. Going and getting our qb was #1 in the draft and they made the move very much with that in mind
  22. Get used to it. We are the team that traded out of the pick and then used that compensation to get a different qb we we will be the team tied to passing on him for better or worse.
  23. If we are that delicate, is what’s happening really that good?
  24. I believe the issue was they had Yeldon and ivory. That’s not a great backfield. The dude has like 60 catches. It’s not like he’s a total bum in the passing game just cause he’s not hunt/kamara
