  1. Like 3 weeks? You are pushing the playoffs if you make it up after this week that and it’s not actually that cool to be up til midnight east coast or race out of work to watch west coast. Unless you’ve got a team that really thrives in the spotlight - there’s not much upside as a fan
  2. better than average numbers and they aren’t pretty. makes you wonder if outside truly great talents it’s a bit like comparing rushing yards for full backs on most teams? It’s nice to have one but at this point most teams don’t have a great one.
  3. This is an easy one to extrapolate to our own lives. having a boss that’s a prick sucks unless you are getting fat bonuses, and recognition. Even then it’s not a ton of fun and not everyone’s cut out for that environment. learning how to be a boss from a prick often is not a roadmap to gain success
  4. they probably should’ve just moved it to Monday earlier and flip flopped which week was the steelers long week off... but just because something isn’t happening exactly as planned doesn’t mean anyone’s been screwed. It’s not ideal, sure, but nothing about 2020 is and you either came into this season looking for solutions, or for punishments. sliding a game a few days is hardly bending over backwards. And if you think it is you never actually wanted to see the season happen 😂
  5. they still have Monday/Tuesday so we will see. Nothing wrong with trying to find a solution instead of racing to dole out punishment
  6. how many violations are there in the league where an assistant strength coach can mess up and cause a forfeit? if it’s found that the whole team was lax and the game has to be cancelled, maybe, but when there’s an easy option to move it to Sunday you’d have to be a real curmudgeon to yell forfeit
  7. that’s exactly what is likely to happen if they can show the outbreak is contained. The ravens will play just as short handed as they would’ve Thursday but both teams will have a level of confidence they aren’t lined up with infected people on the field and the ravens will be able to get a couple practices in when the facility reopens
  8. this isn’t about a short handed game. The same people are out Thursday or Sunday the issue is the facility is closed and they need to practice at least a tiny bit before kicking off. the plan is for them to play like 3 days delayed. You know, so the league can figure out risk levels, contain the outbreak, and let them practice a couple times. the issue isn’t the number in protocol it’s the number of actual positives
  9. I get it, but given the last few pages thought it worthwhile to underscore how wide the gap is between this and most of the examples it’s being compared to... there’s no perfect method but we aren’t even in the ballpark of apples to apples with these
  10. Missing 6 through contact tracing after a positive and having 7 positive tests creates very different issues. Teams can’t practice once you hit enough positive tests because facilities are closed. this game isn’t postponed due to the number out, Or a position decimated, it’s postponed to evaluate spread and hopefully let the team practice before playing
  11. There aren’t bye weeks left to juggle for this one. You are advocating for pushing the playoffs back at this point. Which I’m not saying is right or wrong, just need to point out what you are really asking for
  12. there’s a big difference between 7 positive tests in 3 days and a player testing positive with and exposure risk or two around the roster. the nfl is doing the opposite of picking favorites here, where it would get real sketchy if the made calls based on quality of players effected large scale positive testing with risk of full on outbreak- shut down the facility and evaluate scheduling based on reopening schedule a positive test with a few exposed is business as usual how many positive tests did we have and how long was our facility closed?
  13. that’s some high level dysfunction though, to create a situation where you wouldn’t even consider a qb for a qb needy team
  14. to be fair, a few of these young unproven guys probably level out similar to Goff or Wentz in the nfc (if tua even gets there). And tannehill isn’t exactly scary.
  15. can you imagine? Amortization of signing bonuses is like rocket surgery here.
  16. This is my new favorite weekly thread. he’s had a long career and in a passer friendly era
  17. lots of details out since then. It’s a strength coach who had a medical emergency and is undergoing tests at the hospital.
  18. saying that hill had a good game isn’t fair enough in that comparison.
  19. yup. He did everything you’d ask of a backup and got a break in his biggest play. It’s one of those process vs results things. His stat line was solid, but there were red flags consistent with his resume on display. I wouldn’t suddenly think Barkley is a starter if he beats the jets with a nice stat line.
  20. it’s not his fault but certainly to his advantage as it takes a great deal of pressure off
  21. ha- yup. Ireland joined in the 2015 offseason, so I just listed top 3-4 rounds since the 2016 draft... that class was a haul but even 16 was excellent. hell, 19 having Gardner Johnson as a 4th as his second pick behind McCoy as their starting center in round 2 is pretty solid for just having a 2 and 4.
  22. If you accept that they trade away picks, I think Jeff Ireland’s has a pretty decent impact since joining the saints front office go back a few years and look at Every top 3-4 round pick 2019- Eric McCoy, Chauncey Gardner 2018- Marcus Davenport, trequan smith 2017- lattimore, ramcyzk, kamara, Hendrickson Marcus Williams and anzalone 2016- Sheldon rankins, Michael Thomas, vonn bell and onyemata not a terrible batch. Davenports the big question mark with health issues but has been explosive when healthy. Trequan isn’t great but as a third rounder you aren’t nailing them all. 2016 is great.
  23. LB48 is so mad at you right now
