Last night's cooking soundtrack was Rubber Soul, immediately followed by Revolver. It reminded me of a time in 2003, hanging out in my buddy's car before heading into a Lollapalooza to see Jane's Addiction. We were chilling out to Revolver and commenting on how we both loved Paul's harmony in the lyric, "by my window," from "I'm Only Sleeping." I sent him a text to let him know that memory had popped into my head. Re: listening to these two albums back-to-back, he said, "No better two-for in rock and roll." I immediately said, "ooooh … now THAT is a great topic." Trying to figure out how to frame a thread for all of us great music fans to discuss what we think are the best "back-to-back releases," in rock. Zep provides a challenge. Personally I think I'd say III - IV. But then I think about how awesome I - II and II - III were. Police Outlandos - Regatta is a great one. Thread worthy???

I'd let her hold my panhandle. -
I have a trip to Puerto Rico scheduled for a month from now. I hope this ***** blows over by then.

Her face is cracked from smiling All the fears that she's been hiding And it seems that pretty soon, everybody's gonna know And her voice is sore from shouting Cheering winners who are losing And she worries if their days are few and soon they'll have to go My, my, my, I'm so happy I'm gonna join the band We gonna dance and sing in celebration We are in the promised land

Bar Bill is my favorite. In the Buffalo area, I've only had Bar Bill and Anchor. Had no problem with Anchor's wings. I just think Bar Bill wings are much better. Texture, sauce (flavor and amount) are exactly what I like. I've never bothered trying Duff's after a trusted source's review of them.

I get what you're saying. I'll admit that I'm not a fan of when the song speeds up for a bit. Cheeses it up a bit. But overall, I will still opine it's a great tune.

I have one close friend who is a rock music lover and does not like the Beatles. Most of my friends at least respect them; a couple like them as much as I do.

I love I Want You. Some nice scat and a nice, smooth bass line. The transition from the heavy ending of I Want You directly into Here Comes the Sun, to me, was genius.

TRANSLATION: I now have two more of your addresses and I'm a big Criminal Minds fan.

I think it's a fun listen. Better question is how did Revolution 9 make it onto the White Album.
-
I think the individualization of the White Album is a big part of what makes it such a fantastic album. It's also all the more reason to respect them as a group … to be able to churn out so many masterpieces while they each had their own styles and preferences. It's a big reason they're the best band ever.

Tonight's the night we'll make history, honey, you and I And I'll take any risk to tie back the hands of time And stay with you here tonight I know you feel these are the worst of times I do believe it's true When people lock their doors and hide inside Rumor has it it's the end of Paradise But I know, if the world just passed us by Baby I know, you wouldn't have to cry The best of times are when I'm alone with you Some rain some shine, we'll make this a world for two Our memories of yesterday will last a lifetime We'll take the best, forget the rest And someday we'll find These are the best of times
