  1. Knocked him out of the game in the 3rd quarter but Montana played another season
  2. Went to the Bills at Panthers in 2017. At the half I just walked in to the men's room, no line. Now I know why!!
  3. Well...sounds better than "you effing idiot" "Very unique"...if something is unique it is by definition one of a kind, there are no degrees of uniqueness.
  4. My favorite of his many great songs. "I made enough money to buy Miami but I pissed it away so fast...never meant to last..."
  5. Sadly, Doug Whaley may have been right. "This is the game of football, It's a violent game that I personally don't think humans are supposed to play."
  6. Not sure how you got to this assumption, she, my brother and their kids were visiting my home for Christmas.
  7. My SIL, who was dean of a community college (you know, a person that is supposed to encourage free thought and whatnot,) has thrown out two of my books because she didn't like the authors. If you've ever read any of the O'Reilly "killing" books they aren't political at all, just factual. Not really sure about the Ann Coulter book, didn't get a chance to read it.
  8. Been my experience that those on the left are all for free thinking. So long as those thoughts coinside with theirs.
  9. Best thing about Landshark is there's none in my refrigerator (or any beer that comes in a clear bottle, has the name of or is best with fruit in it.)
  10. Cardiac arrest, which is what happened to Bronny (as well as Damar) is different than heart attack. Heart suddenly/unexpectedly stops beating, heart attack is caused by blocked arteries and such. Still a shame though.
  11. Dad lived to a few days shy of 101, mom until a few weeks short of 102 (would have made it if she hadn't broken her hip, maybe even 103, she was in pretty good shape until then. Dad not so much. ) Anyways both died at the family home, which was pretty much a nursing home the last 6 years, complete with a hoyer lift, hospital bed, 7 aides and 5 nurses. No more than 2 at any time, usually 1. Often I was the one.
  12. While legend has it that there are 18 shots in a bottle of whiskey, there is no truth to that. Originally, St. Andrews was 12 holes, 10 were usually played twice so a normal round was 22 holes. This was based on the lay of the landscape. In 1764 St Andrews combined the first 4 into 2 holes so there were now 10 holes, 8 of which were usually played twice. Other early 18th and 19th century courses were also built according to the landscape and were anywhere from 5 to 12 holes. As golf gained in popularity throughout the 19th century some uniformity was needed. St. Andrews began building double greens until it eventually became 18 separate holes rather than playing some holes twice. 1842 was the first time 18 holes was mentioned as the official round by the R&A. Gradually other courses followed suit, by the 1930's virtually all courses were some version of 18 holes, though it wasn't until 1950 when all governing bodies made 18 the official round. Short answer is everyone followed St. Andrews lead. Apologies if this was a rhetorical question.
  13. This is the best way to get better, go back 60 years and take it up at a younger age. As for me, used to play softball 4-5 days a week and golf once or twice. When I hit 60 the softball had to go, golf 4-5 days a week now. With the exception of tournaments, I always walk. Belong to a private club that gets privileges at a public course( preferred tee times, tournaments, etc.) Also belong to a private club. Kind of an enigma, both a trunk slammin' muni-player and a country club snob.
  14. I wouldn't get in that thing if you paid me a quarter of a million, had to be a total idiot to actually pay that much.
  15. If/when the conversation gets around to politics, I usually say " so, how bout those Bills?" Most often people get the hint and change the subject.
  16. Someone mentioned being a starter at a golf course. Both private clubs and the county courses are always looking for someone. Or outside mowing the course if you don't want to deal with anyone. If you work at Durand you might get the fringe benefit of having a beer with Steve O after your shift.
  17. Seems I'm the only one to watch them in the TV lounge in college just to meet chicks...pathetic.
  18. Which would have been a home game but for the "just give it to them" call.
  19. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90VdRPWtQz4 Play in question occurs at 2:28:55. You can also find Chris Berman's game recap on youtube which has a better angle of the feet but that one doesn't show the refs discussion following the play.
  20. 60's No "strike range" in football, hell, clothesline, wedges were legal, no 5 yard chuck rule, and Bills AFL champions back to back. Pitchers pitched every 4th day, no pitch count or bat angles, All Star game was a real game, players wanted the winner's portion. No 3-point line in basketball...at least until the ABA.
  21. This is actually a remake of an old baseball joke. It seems that Timmy had recently moved from Chicago to St. Louis. The teacher asked the class who everyone's favorite baseball team was. Everyone but Timmy said the Cardinals. Timmy said the Chicago Cubs. The teacher explained to Timmy that he lived in St. Louis now and his favorite team should be the Cardinals. Timmy said he didn't care, his grandparents were Cubs fans, his parents, aunts and uncles were all Cubs fans, and he will always be a Cubs fan. Clearly frustrated, the teacher said suppose your mother was a hooker and your father was a pimp? Timmy said they would be White Sox fans.
  22. I was worried things would get even worse at the border with title 42 ending. But now that I know the president and vice president have been closely consulting on this I'm feeling better about the whole situation. What's that that Irv says...oh yeah, what a mess.
  23. Almost happy that I have more yesterdays than tomorrows.
  24. My county is a test site for the latest NY state give away. New York is already the 3rd most...not sure what the word is....welfare friendly state behind only Vermont and Rhode Island. But apparently that isn't enough. Monroe county will be a test site for the next phase. Because apparently we're not giving away enough to those without jobs. So, in addition to the welfare checks and any other aid, 50 families will be receiving an additional $600 per month for a year. But not just any random welfare recipients. In order to be eligible to receive the extra $600, the recipient must have been the target of a DPS investigation for poor care of their child(ren.) Somehow the family will be tracked for a year to see if the kids are better fed etc. a year from now than before. Might want to track drug and liquor sales in the area of the recipients while they're at it.
