Really like that you can see the approaching lightning. I'll give it to 20 miles, maybe 15 if it's slow moving, to change direction then start walking off. Once it hits 10 I'm doing my version of running. As you probably know if you hear thunder the lightning is within 10 miles, which is the distance it can strike from. Don't put much faith in lightning shelters unless they're enclosed. My one goal in golf is for there never to be a Steve O memorial lightning shelter.
