  1. Remember what Marv used to say about depth? It's a great to have, until you need to use it...guess we'll find out tomorrow.
  2. below is exactly the answer I was thinking about when the question above was asked. The guy expected to come out of retirement and carry a clipboard for a few weeks and get paid 5 million. An offer that was too sweet to refuse. Tried saying that he thought it was second down, which is just as bad as making the slide if true (which I don't believe it is.)
  3. Which is absolutely who Kelce (and Josh as well) should be dating. Take a page out of Rory McIlroy's book, date a regular hot chick (actually from my home town) rather than a super star. He was engaged to Caroline Wozniacki but decided marrying a tennis star would be too much. Nothing good happens when you're both traveling to watch each other perform all the time.
  4. Before Gronk and Kelce there was Francis, whom Howard Cosell would always call all-world. Was Daryl Stingley's roommate with the Patriots. Retired in 1980 but Bill Walsh talked him in to coming back and he won a Super Bowl with the San Fran. RIP, like chongli said, tough week for Boston fans. RIP.
  5. re #3 - in addition to the Davis drop, which was as bad as it looked, Knox had a drop in the end zone when Josh had put the ball in a tiny window. Pretty much the only place he could have put it for there to be a catch. Gotta make that catch. Probably didn't look that bad in person, maybe even like the pass was broken up, but It wasn't, it was dropped. Those are the passes that some guy that played for New England, his name escapes me, used to always make - especially against us. Great report as always, thanks.
  6. Tough to act like you've been there before when you've never been there before. Useless trivia-his first college sack was on Josh.
  7. So was I... and this one as well... I can only speak for myself and my brother...we didn't
  8. That's the point. When you need to reach in to the practice squad it's good to know what you are (and aren't) getting.
  9. since he's making 22 million this year I'd say you're doing quite nicely as well (disclaimer: this thread is 15 pages long, this was posted almost a month ago, I didn't check to see if this has already been posted. Apologies if I'm being redundant.)
  10. Knocked him out of the game in the 3rd quarter but Montana played another season
  11. Went to the Bills at Panthers in 2017. At the half I just walked in to the men's room, no line. Now I know why!!
  12. Well...sounds better than "you effing idiot" "Very unique"...if something is unique it is by definition one of a kind, there are no degrees of uniqueness.
  13. My favorite of his many great songs. "I made enough money to buy Miami but I pissed it away so fast...never meant to last..."
  14. Sadly, Doug Whaley may have been right. "This is the game of football, It's a violent game that I personally don't think humans are supposed to play."
  15. Not sure how you got to this assumption, she, my brother and their kids were visiting my home for Christmas.
  16. My SIL, who was dean of a community college (you know, a person that is supposed to encourage free thought and whatnot,) has thrown out two of my books because she didn't like the authors. If you've ever read any of the O'Reilly "killing" books they aren't political at all, just factual. Not really sure about the Ann Coulter book, didn't get a chance to read it.
  17. Been my experience that those on the left are all for free thinking. So long as those thoughts coinside with theirs.
  18. Best thing about Landshark is there's none in my refrigerator (or any beer that comes in a clear bottle, has the name of or is best with fruit in it.)
  19. Cardiac arrest, which is what happened to Bronny (as well as Damar) is different than heart attack. Heart suddenly/unexpectedly stops beating, heart attack is caused by blocked arteries and such. Still a shame though.
  20. Dad lived to a few days shy of 101, mom until a few weeks short of 102 (would have made it if she hadn't broken her hip, maybe even 103, she was in pretty good shape until then. Dad not so much. ) Anyways both died at the family home, which was pretty much a nursing home the last 6 years, complete with a hoyer lift, hospital bed, 7 aides and 5 nurses. No more than 2 at any time, usually 1. Often I was the one.
  21. While legend has it that there are 18 shots in a bottle of whiskey, there is no truth to that. Originally, St. Andrews was 12 holes, 10 were usually played twice so a normal round was 22 holes. This was based on the lay of the landscape. In 1764 St Andrews combined the first 4 into 2 holes so there were now 10 holes, 8 of which were usually played twice. Other early 18th and 19th century courses were also built according to the landscape and were anywhere from 5 to 12 holes. As golf gained in popularity throughout the 19th century some uniformity was needed. St. Andrews began building double greens until it eventually became 18 separate holes rather than playing some holes twice. 1842 was the first time 18 holes was mentioned as the official round by the R&A. Gradually other courses followed suit, by the 1930's virtually all courses were some version of 18 holes, though it wasn't until 1950 when all governing bodies made 18 the official round. Short answer is everyone followed St. Andrews lead. Apologies if this was a rhetorical question.
  22. This is the best way to get better, go back 60 years and take it up at a younger age. As for me, used to play softball 4-5 days a week and golf once or twice. When I hit 60 the softball had to go, golf 4-5 days a week now. With the exception of tournaments, I always walk. Belong to a private club that gets privileges at a public course( preferred tee times, tournaments, etc.) Also belong to a private club. Kind of an enigma, both a trunk slammin' muni-player and a country club snob.
  23. I wouldn't get in that thing if you paid me a quarter of a million, had to be a total idiot to actually pay that much.
  24. If/when the conversation gets around to politics, I usually say " so, how bout those Bills?" Most often people get the hint and change the subject.
