  1. Sammy's gone for the game I believe and probably for a couple more weeks.
  2. Because the guys that wrote it and his editors are bauffoons.
  3. Why is it that people can't seem to grasp this concept? Yes the Pats are a "questionable" team this year. They looked very beatable last season and would not have won the division if every other team in it didn't suck so bad. And yes the Bears are a very good offensive team and particularly hard to beat at home. That was the basis for my statement and I still stand by it.
  4. Based on last year's performances. New England looked very beatable last season and the Bears were very good offensively, especially at home. That was the basis for my statement. Hope this helps to clarify.
  5. Hmmmm Dolphins beat a questionable Pats team at home and Bills go on the road and beat a very good Chicago team in a place they have never won. All things considered, I'll take the Bills at home, but I think it will be a very close game and could go either way. Hopefully the atmosphere at the Ralph helps the Bills get over the hump.
  6. Depends on the topic and I tend not to read all the pages. I look at the topic's first couple of pages and if I go back later, I always skip to the last page to get caught up. If I need to refer back for context, I do that as well.
  7. Why would anyone want to?
  8. He also whiffed badly on a potential tackle that led to a huge TD for the Falcons. It was one of the highlights they showed on NFL network, but they mentioned Byrd by name. Not trying to bash the guy, but I believe the Bills made the right call. It was too much money for a safety. He did make a nice play on Jones forcing a fumble in the red zone.
  9. I agree completely. This group has some big plays in store for us this season.
  10. I'm with you. I thought exactly those same two things, but they proved me wrong as well. Great way to start the season.
  11. I'm actually laughing right now. This team is an absolute joke. Same BS as last year. Three and out and can't stop anything. Great start to the season.
  12. Au contraire mon frere, lol. No such thing as "just beer".
  13. This is old news. It happened a couple of weeks ago and was reported then. Not sure what led to the altercation but it seems to have long since blown over.
  14. Sorry, but I can't place too much importance on the first game of the season. I understand what you are saying, but if they lose this game and win the home opener, they are still 1-1. And likewise if they win this one and lose at home, then they are still 1-1. All games are important and it would be great to get off to a good start, but this team must learn to be consistently good, week in and week out if they are ever to get over the hump.
  15. I give him until week three. If he has played poorly in the first two games, he's done and Orton's the starter.
  16. I think he'll be starting by week 3. So I could say 10 and still take the over.
  17. I have no hope or expectations left. I just continue to watch because it is what I have done for the past 50 years. When the Bills win a game, I am happy. When they lose, I am numb. All the losing has made me absolutely not care anymore when it happens. I just move on and wait for next week.
  18. Both of them hit him in the hands. And he dropped both. I repeat, both were extremely catchable and even Kelso said he has to make those catches.
  19. Two drops in a row by Hogan. Both catchable balls.
  20. I think Hacket did a decent job last season. He made some mistakes, but name one OC that didn't last year. For me, the jury is still out on Hacket. This year will be the true test. If after one year in the league, his offense still struggles to score points and make first downs, then yes, he has to go. Not sure that we have enough evidence yet that he is a bad OC.
  21. This thread reminds me of a question I heard asked on an Army promotion board. The board member asked the soldier to tell him about Beirut. Beirut? he replied. Well I think he was one of the greatest baseball players of all time. True story.
  22. I tend to agree with you but even you have to admit, the QB play this pre-season has been putrid. The whole first team offense has been pretty bad actually. I think people are just looking for something to give them a glimmer of hope after all of the losing and thus far we haven't seen it.
  23. Wow. I am absolutely stunned by the positivity in this thread. I watched the game live and came away thinking this is going to be another very long season. The offense in the first half was absolutely putrid. The reasons for not making plays do not matter much to me. Make the damned plays! I'm usaually pretty optimistic and don't panic in the pre-season, but this was really bad. Mistake after mistake after mistake. If this team plays anything like they have in the pre-season, then this season will be a step backwards and there certainly will be no playoffs again. They have a very long way to go to even be competitive IMO.
  24. I believe it is not too early to panic about the QB position. It appears that none of the three QB on the roster or even Dixon from the practice squad are any good at all. All have played poorly this pre-season and there is no reason to believe that any of them will be able to suddenly flip a switch once the season starts and all of a sudden play better. They need to add not one, but two QB's somehow and find someone who can at least be adequate at the position. Right now, all are epically bad.
