 Yes a tool of a HOF QB who also wears UGG's. That's part of what makes him a tool.

Bryce Brown surprised he isn't playing
xsoldier54 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Got to disagree. When he was given the opportunity to play in Philly, he put up some really good numbers. If Hacket insists on running the ball up the middle, I would much rather see Brown doing it than C.J. Hell, I'd even rather see Dixon doing it than C.J. I know there are tons of discussions on this, but C. J. will never be a between the tackles kind of runner, so if you are going to run that play, you have to find a back that can run it. -
Say what you will, they have three wins in less than two weeks and right now are the best team in the division, AGAIN. Pisses me off too, but it is the reality of the situation. Pats will win the division again and I'm just hoping we can win enough games to get one of the WC's. We had our shot last Sunday and failed miserably. Yes Brady is a tool, but he is also a HOF QB.

Call me crazy, but I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with the OP. I see us going into the break at 5-3. That would mean we have a legitimate chance to make the playoffs. 9-7 has done it before and that would mean we would only have to go 4-4 in the second half of the season. That should be doable and we may even be able to go 5-3 again in the second half. That would make us 10-6 and that definitely gets us in. Way to early for this prediciton. If we fail to win the next two against very beatable teams, then maybe I would have to agree that we won't make it, but until then, I'm still counting on us being in.

It was really pathetic this week. In addition to the phantom calls on the Bills, there were the non-calls against the Pats. They had two huge third down conversions where the reciever clearly pushed the defender away before making the catch and nothing. It's getting to the point where if we win, it is almost like we are beating two opponents, not one.

Hackett not properly using Spiller & Jackson
xsoldier54 replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have been very slow to criticize Hacket's play calling, but the past two weeks have made me re-think it. He definitely is way too conservative and is not using Spiller correctly. They need more plays for Watkins as well. In addition, having your QB throw 35-40 passes a game is a recipe for disaster, need to get back to the run game, just be more creative about it. -

I agree completely. You can't keep running Spiller between the tackles. It is not what he does and the results have proven this out. I think they need to dust off the older counter tre that Thurman used to run to perfection. When I can sit at home and predict the play based on the formation, you know defenses aren't having any trouble knowing what we are going to run. -
They were only down 6 after the 3 turnovers. The defense failed to stop NE for the entire second half. NE scored on every single possession in the second half. That is poor defense my friend. The offense was playing well in the second half and if the D had stopped NE even a couple of times, we win. The early turnovers hurt, yes, but the D cost us the win.

Marrone's teams have played the Pats three times now. They played poorly yesterday for sure, mostly in the defensive secondary. My point is that this team still has a chance to finish with a decent record and make the playoffs. They are not SB contenders yet, so I would take that in a heartbeat. Beating the Patsies really doesn't mean any more to me than beating the Vikings and Jets the next two weeks. We play NE twice and even if we lose them both and still make the playoffs, nobody will be calling for the HC's head. Yes, the sky is falling because we lost to the Patsies. We are 3-3 and I'll take our chances with both the Vikings and the Jets. If we do lose those two games as you suggest, then I'm perfectly willing to admit that you were right and I was wrong. Just don't see it happening though. At worst we will enter the break at 4-4 and at best 5-3.

Sullivans Monday Patriots/Bills Column
xsoldier54 replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Completely agree. The key to beating Brady is getting in his face. He doesn't like it and gets rattled. No pressure equals what we saw in the second half yesterday. Our secondary is questionable at best and by not putting pressure on Brady, Schwartz made it easy for him to pick us apart. This loss was on the D. They absolutely could not stop NE in the second half and that was the story of this game. -
Williams has always been trouble. Sounds as if he isn't happy with the number of targets he's getting. He is a narcissist who way overestimates his talent. He could have been a nice weapon along side Watkins and Woods, but it sounds like he has already worn out his welcome. Hogan looked better than him yesterday anyways.
-
Yes he did commit two bad turnovers that led to 10 points. He also made some nice throws that led to all of Buffalo's points. I repeat, although he made some mistakes, it was not his play that cost us the game. It was the defense's inability to stop NE for the entire second half of the game. Stop them even a couple of times and we win the game. Not saying Orton is perfect and I certainly am not blind to his flaws, but he is a definite improvement over EJ at this point. You can't pin this loss on him. It wasn't his fault.
-
The QB played well enough yesterday for the team to win. The D did not stop NE at all in the second half. Orton is not Peyton Manning, but he is still head and shoulders above EJ at this point. No way EJ makes that TD throw to Hogan or the two point conversion throw to Woods. It wasn't his fault the Bills lost yesterday, it was the D. The offense played well enough to overcome the two Orton turnovers in the first half. If the D could have stopped NE a couple more times in the second half, it would have been a different game. Come back and talk to me in two weeks when we are 5-3 and Orton is 3-1. He is so much better than EJ it isn't even funny. No way EJ makes that TD throw to Hogan yesterday or the two point conversion to Woods. Those are throws EJ just isn't capable of making. Orton kept us in the game, it was the D that failed us yesterday.

I wonder if you waited two more weeks what the responses will be. I see us beating both Minnesota and the Jets and going into the bye week at 5-3. I'll take that and I wonder how many people will still want to fire the HC. Yesterday was a poor performance against a good team. That happens sometimes. Look at the stinker the Seahawks put up against the Cowgirls. Would you want to fire Pete Carroll if you were a Hawks fan? Way to early for speculation like this. Let the season play out a bit and see how you feel. If you're looking for the perfect HC, I got a news flash for you. Only one team has ever gone undefeated in the history of the NFL. Every coach has games where their team plays poorly in certain games every single year. Silly thread IMO.

The Goose just nailed it. The secondary has been this team's Achilles heel all season. Brady knows it and has been exploiting them all day. -

And that my friends is all she wrote. Absolutely no way we score three times and hold them to nothing the rest of the way. Another NE game, another loss. Very disappointing, but in our defense, officials have really helped NE today. -

There is absolutely no way we will be allowed to come back and win this game. If NE scores here, it's all over. Thank you officials for robbing us of any chance of winning this game. -

Playing catchup all day. Not where you wanna be against NE. Too many mistakes to help them get the lead and now we have to play catchup. I don't see this ending well. AGAIN. -

Don't you wish just once we could break out on top instead of playing from behind? It gets really old. -
"Experts" take on F'ing Cheatriots @ EL PEGUAL BILLS
xsoldier54 replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see this as a shootout at all. I think the Bills D will pressure Brady all day and not give him time to throw. I think the Bills hold the Pats to 20 points and score 27 to win.
