  1. With all the rule changes, ST will be more important than ever this year. It will be interesting to see what teams will sacrifice the yards on kickoff for prioritizing non ST players. It would seem that better starting field positing results in more scoring but maybe its not as important as previously thought. Hope we thought it through
  2. Crazy to think that humor was used to describe the differences between people and it made talking about it easier with comedy. I believe that in 2003 we got the Man Show, Chappelle Show, and South Park on Comedy Central. That amount of laughter is illegal now.
  3. Did Araiza win the prize for most STIs on the roster? Or just the prize for the most texts asking women to get tested?
  4. William & Mary is a fine collegiate institution.
  5. For all the crazy personalities and weird interactions, this forum is way better than Reddit where merely a contrarian opinion gets you permanently banned. Sure a post you made may go missing like a Boeing whistleblower, but at least I haven’t had to make another account here. If there’s one example of the type of argument that was particularly annoying was the people who seemed to think that Terrell Edmund’s height and wingspan was somehow a stat in the passes defended column against throws that weren’t attempted in his direction. Psychic passes defended or something. But in general, it would be helpful if people remembered that instead of trying to tell others they’re wrong (which makes most double down), try persuading them to your viewpoint.
  6. He’s got pool in his name. Hopefully his career can regenerate like Deadpool And if you know a kid in the past 10 years you know
  7. I must have been channeling this article from favorite Cover1 guy. It feels that the misses are magnified simply because the league has come to respect our GM and scouts. Like the rare times my wife misses a discount at the grocery store. It's not egregious, they've just done so well that you expect them not to miss like a team like the Panthers do on the regular.
  8. What I love about this regime is when they hit on a draft pick, it’s a dinger. When they miss, it’s embarrassing. It’s money ball style drafting and I can live with it.
  9. An established "identity" only helps the opposition game plan and poor writers come up with column fodder.
  10. A mew coach is more likable than a hiss coach
  11. Figures that there’s still a portion of the fanbase that just can’t stop giving Poyer grief. Poyer has always told you what he thinks. Especially four years ago when people didn’t want to hear his opinions. He’s also said many times that he wanted to play somewhere warm without state income tax. He’s been nothing but a straight shooter so when he says something he means it.
  12. At this rate we can cut Hamlin before the Steelers preseason game so we have an excuse to see him again
  13. They changed the rules so his squibbing is still a theoretical question
  14. FWIW I like Beane. We agree he's very good at his job. As long as he's representing my favorite colored laundry, he's fine with me. Must be his NC accent that puts me on guard. Sounds like every Mid-Atlantic politician I've heard since moving to enemy territory.
  15. He just isn't wearing his used car salesman uniform. Remember when he had the entire NFL believing he was all in for Breece Hall? That we were trading up for a top 3 WR? When he said Diggs wasn't going anywhere? He's slicker than alligator poop on a bald-tired semi on a mile of wet asphalt. The proof is that you think he's an honest guy. He could tell you you're laid off and you'd thank him for letting you pack up your desk. He could convince you that you could out pizza the hut!
  16. No need to trade. He's going to get cut if Hyde comes back. He's safety 5 at the moment.
  17. I know, right? Two of my warning points were for indirectly referencing that thing that happened 4 years ago. Just to show you what a world it was at the time. No foul language. Not even fowl language like "what the 🦆?"
  18. I'm done celebrating offseason wins. The highlight of one of the drought years was the HOF induction speeches.
  19. Roasts used to be a tribute to a great person. Now roasts are used as PR damage control. For example Charlie Sheen and Donald Trump. That's because a roast used to show how affable you were, and how well you could take a deprecating joke. Now they're pitched by public relations teams to minimize the damage of the most recurring zingers by saying "We've heard that one before. That's old." At best you feel sorry for him. They're hoping people "took it too far." That way he can get sympathy. Slowly rebuild his image, like Alex Rodriguez, Barry Bonds, Mark Maguire.... a theme perhaps? Too on the nose? Tom Brady is trying to become a mogul. Why isn't everyone falling over themselves to recruit him into their ownership team? Primarily because he's viewed by the public as a cheater. The NFL can put out the goat narrative all they want, but they have to wait 20 years until there's a generation that only has heard of his accomplishments and not the asterisks. It's going to be quite a task for the PR team because, at best, they can only portray him as an unwitting accomplice to the many scandals of his team. Which is a risk as it contributes to his secondary view is as of a dumped ex-husband who chose an overextended career over his model wife and creepy mouth kisses with the kids. The truly sad part is that everyone who participated in the roast Kraft, Belichick, Gronk, etc felt that it truly wouldn't harm their already tainted reputation any more than cheating already has.
