  1. This is from his coaching Bio. 1989 Combine was coaches only, not a media event like today. He was invited to NFL combine trials in Indianapolis in 1989 where he (and Deion Sanders) ran the 40-yard dash in a record-setting 4.25 seconds.
  2. Watching Beebe catch Leon Lett from behind in the Super Bowl, he def had the "golden wheels". Beebe's 4.25 matched Deion as the fastest 40 up to that time.
  3. Antoine Winfield was undersized, but a feared tackler, played 14 years in the league.
  4. Right now we don't have a proven CB2, and Hamlin, Rapp & Bishop at S don't exactly scare any OC in the league. Bradberry had a bad 2023 before he got hurt [Passer rating allowed of 108]. McD is a supposed secondary whisperer so it will be interesting to see how he solves this. Not great when your HC is a defensive mastermind and Bills have to put up 4 TD's every week to win games.
  5. If Josh had someone with Beebe's speed [4.21 40] in the lineup, DC's would have to be a lot more honest. I always thought the threat of his speed translated to better opportunities for Reed & Lofton. Beebe averaged almost 16 ypc during his time in Buffalo. He had a huge season in Green Bay in '96 17 ypc. Duby averaged 18 ypc for his career.
  6. Press report says he's been made a trusty in prison, his assignment until recently was working at the governor's mansion, recently moved to a halfway house within a mile of the stadium in Vegas.
  7. Yep I turn 76 next week and been a Bills fan since I was 12.
  8. So I took Pro football Reference, Approximate Value for a career, - I only picked players with 5 or more Buffalo seasons, and the top three CB's using that rubric are Butch Byrd [Career AV 11}, Robert James [Career AV 9], and Tre White [Career AV 8.9]. After that long drop off to the next 3, Nate Odomes, Mario Clark & Nate Clements. FWIW. - Deion is the highest graded NFL CB of all time, Career AV of 15.
  9. yes Butch was 42, From Watervliet [Albany area] played at Boston University before the Bills.
  10. Agreed, I was a HS kid in the 60's, AFL was a passing league, he was the definition of a shut down corner.
  11. If they outlaw the tush push, a RB who can get in the end zone will become more valuable.
  12. FitzMagic is one of the Amazon TNF guys, so don't be surprised if that's where the Bills land.
  13. Douglas allowed a passer rating of 123.7 last season. FWIW
  14. Hollins was a very significant factor in our running game success. He was constantly hitting people to spring Josh and our RB's loose.
  15. They can, but in a different sport if they have eligibility remaining. In this case, looks like the NCAA doesn't consider WWE a real sport.
  16. Been that way for a while. If you sign a pro contract, you lose your eligibility in that sport, but can compete in other sports. Now with NIL, the entire line between pro and college athletics at the highest level is VERY blurry. In addition it may get even blurrier because of this lawsuit - There is a new case filed against the NCAA on behalf of several college hockey programs and players in the Canadian Hockey League (three Major Junior leagues the NCAA considers professional). If the NCAA loses this lawsuit, collegiate sports at the Division I level will be fully professional with almost no restrictions.
  17. I hear the need for a nasty "speed" wr to keep defenses honest. We passed on Worthy last year in favor of Coleman. But of late Josh; despite his ridiculous arm talent; has settled into a smart "take what the defense gives you" passer, coupling that with both his scrambling ability and a solid running game and excellent protection from his O line. Since we have Samuel on the roster, is that still a need? We had Isabella, another elite speed guy on the practice squad most of last year and rarely used him.
  18. We have Samuel, who ran a 4.31 8 years ago. Is his 55 yard catch vs. Denver in the wild card something we could see more of?
  19. USA Today - For the win had a piece a couple of hours ago that said Gilmore is on the radar as a CB2 replacement. I thought there was some front office angst when he ditched the Bills for the Pats in FA?
  20. Even if he does, will McDermott play a rookie in a starting role?
  21. Does signing Shenault mean he will compete to take Hollins spot as a "BIG" WR and also does it mean we draft another CB so we don't ever have to play Codrington in a meaningful defensive snap?
  22. Is Rasul Douglas [Jersey Boy] going to wind up with the Jets now that DJ Reed has gone to the Lions?
  23. Saw we just signed Darrynton Evans [3rd time as a Bill] RB room looking a bit crowded.
  24. didn't this guy play in the same defensive backfield as Sauce Gardner?
  25. CBS only giving Bills a C on the Bosa Signing, meanwhile gave Falcons an A+ for signing former Bill Leonard Floyd.
