Yes, but in much lesser roles with veterans above them on the depth chart. This, to me, suggests they may be planning on going WR early in the draft and weren’t thrilled with the development of Shakir and Davis and possibly McKenzie this season so they let him walk.

Apparently Vegas doesn't agree the Bills are done...

Can’t be. They’re done. …I know this because I read it on TBD In every other post. 🤷♂️ -
How do the Bills win the Super Bowl next year?
transient replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
New to football OP? It’s ok. There are no stupid questions. 🙄They do it by winning all of their playoff games, then winning the final championship game which is the one commonly referred to as “the Super Bowl.” About that ledge… here, lemme help you out… just.. a little… push! All better. -
Something very different: who we really are. 😄
transient replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I used to live in Miami and work in law enforcement during the day. I don't sleep much, I had kind of a messed up childhood, so I kept busy with other things by night. From the outside, I had your typical life... married, had a son, was relatively close, but awkward, with my step-sister. Appearances can be deceiving, though. Nothing's forever. Things got weird when, after my wife died and I sent my son to live with a stranger, my step-sister developed this bizarre crush on me... I felt like life jumped the shark for a bit, so I spent some time wandering after inexplicably surviving an ill advised boat trip. Things got back on track... kinda... about 10 years later when I reunited with my son. We have a complicated relationship, though. I won't bore you with the details. Anyway, being a Bills fan helps me keep my dark passenger in check... or does it... maybe we'll find out some day if my "code" results in you finding yourself an invited guest at my table. Oh, and GO BILLS!! -
Not quite the context I was going for with "the members of TBD"... but maybe not that far off, sometimes.

I was hoping for Wilkes, as well. It seemed to me a way to bring in a more aggressive philosophy without changing scheme, thereby avoiding player turnover. Hopefully this hiring is a message to Frazier that the heat has been turned up and if he doesn't adjust the way he calls the defense his time is up. I'm sick of hearing commentators say "Leslie Frazier blitzes less than anyone else in the league" while they're trying to fill the dead air as opposing QBs are chillin' in the pocket.

I think the miscalculation was in overvaluing the existing skill players on offense and not sufficiently replacing the roles/production of peak Brown/Sanders and Beasley. Davis didn't perform when put in the position of a true #2, Crowder got hurt as his history suggested he would, McKittrick was the McKittrick we thought he was and not the McKittrick of his one "breakout game" against the Patriots***. Add to that, despite FA signings that were supposed to shore up the OL in addition to Kromer's masterful coaching, the line was downright offensive. We saw what Von did earlier in the season. He was brought in purely to close out the 3-4 games that he didn't even get to play in. My hope for 2023 is his recovery from the ACL puts him on the field around the middle of November, and he rounds into form in December... it's as close as we'll get to bubble wrapping him for the playoffs... and that the Bills have much better injury luck next year. Re re-signing Poyer; I love the player. He has been a warrior and given this team his all every game he has played in. But, as bittersweet as it is, I think his best days are behind him. Between him and Hyde, I think Hyde is the more cerebral player and the one that is harder to replace, which is why he was re-signed and Poyer wasnt'. If you swap Poyer's physicality for Hyde's leadership and communication this past season, I don't think our secondary gets roasted the way it did down the stretch. I think they re-sign Edmunds. Rightly or wrongly, I think the Beane and McDermott value him much more than the members of TBD. I agree about the ill spent 1st and 2nd round picks on the DL. They would have been better of spending them on OL and WR and bringing in FAs to fill out the DL given their apparent lack of scouting prowess at this position group... though I still hold out hope that Groot develops when he's not playing on a DL where the majority of the remaining players are either gutting it out through what could have been season ending injury or complete stiffs.

I don’t think he ever faked kicking the ball, though.

Draft Stetson Bennett as our backup.
transient replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall
Given the current construction of the Bills, you want someone good enough to get you 3-4 solid outings, but, in the event it's season ending for Allen, suck sufficiently enough over the course of a season that we're able to draft Ja'marr Chase. -
FA and draft needs? Shoot your shot.
transient replied to thunderingsquid's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the WR2 needs to come from the draft purely from a cap standpoint. If there's someone worthy of the pick when they're on the clock, get the best WR available in Rd 1 and draft OL in 2nd and 3rd. Allen won't need to extend plays so much if he has someone who can reliably get open and catch the ball outside of Diggs. Combine this with a Dorsey and Allen "come to Jesus" moment about taking some of the underneath stuff and running the ball when it's there for some balance. -
It was actually 0-0 before the fake punt. They were kind of in no man's land. They're at the 40, so it's a 57 yd FG attempt, or it's a punt that likely goes into the EZ. I'd argue in a regular season game the punter would likely get crushed if they ran that.

Who's our slot WR in 2023, Shakir or...?
transient replied to Nephilim17's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not even for a year, IMO. He's Sammy Watkins and the foot issue all over again... though I don't think he believes he's a lizard alien. -

Been in NOLA for 6 years. Have had Saints seasons for the last 2. Please keep this headcase away from our WR room! -

transient replied to Nephilim17's topic in The Stadium Wall
Incapable may have been too strongly worded. He doesn’t make them reliably enough, though. If he was 50/50 on 50/50 balls he should have caught the Bills offense looks a lot different down the stretch. -
Who's our slot WR in 2023, Shakir or...?
transient replied to Nephilim17's topic in The Stadium Wall
Gabe was open enough, he just proved he’s incapable of making a contested catch. I hope the Bills draft a 1b WR and push Gabe down the lineup where he was much better last season. They can then use Shakir and whomever else as the slot. Get someone dangerous to compliment Diggs and it makes it harder to cover everyone else down the roster. -
You know what would really be nice, if the NFL did something about the coaching interviews during the playoffs. Watching the Bills offense against the Bengals, I'm pretty sure Dorsey could have spent that time he spent interviewing on Saturday more effectively.

Antonio Brown Claims He Got CTE From James Harrison

I thought he got it from riding a tractor in his bathing suit? -
I agree that Frazier could be upgraded with someone more aggressive. Devil’s advocate, though, to the point of the bolded, the Bills went into the Bengals game without Von Miller, Micah Hyde and Daquan Jones. Ed Oliver had a torn pec and was in a harness since December. Jordan Philips had a torn rotator cuff. And they lost Poyer and Marlowe (their last minute fill in/fourth string safety) during the game. They were a team with no effective DL or secondary and they played like it.

He's quickly becoming a wordier Chris Collinsworth with a somewhat more likable personality and without the "Now here's a guy" schtick... which is decidedly not a compliment.
-
He also used to talk football from an insider's perspective; now he just heaps endless, effusive, slobbery praise over players and jabbers on constantly about the drama and the emotion of the moment. He's become the equivalent of somebody who constantly explains a joke to me for the next five minutes after I aleady thought it was funny... my reaction to his color now is constantly "Enough! I get it! STFU already!!". I much preferred it when he identified things in game and prognosticated, which was probably coached out of him by the network, IMO.

I was wondering whether or not the Bills bad performance against Cinci made me finally say to my television "JFC, shut the #### up Romo!" or if it was him. As he was endlessly babbling his way through the AFC Championship game, a game I truly had no rooting interest in, I realized it's not about the Bills, or me, it's him... and right at the moment of that realization I hear my wife, as Saints fan, say "Would you just shut the #### up, Romo". Play-by-play and color guys IMO should be part of the background. Once they've gotten to a place where they distract from the game they're dead to me.

The thought of listening to one of them as a FOX commentator makes me want to vomit, the other is Josh Allen.

I could get behind this. I had stated previously in another thread that I didn't think they should waste draft picks or FA money on a RB they won't use and, given their current RB room, they should bring to camp every UFA RB with size and reasonable speed that could be used as a battering ram, throw them at the wall, and see who sticks.
