I acknowledged that Burrow has more talent and more talent around him on offense. My point is that he's getting beat up like David Carr did in Houston.

I could be mistaken, but I thought I recalled either Nantz or Romo saying midway through the second Q that it already felt like the Bills were just trying to milk the clock.

In those 78 games Burrow has been sacked 201 times, whereas Allen has been sacked 191 times in 126 games. He may be injury prone, but playing in Cincy isn't helping. Burrow is basically David Carr with more talent and more talent around him... although David Carr held up to the punishment better.

I think you could make a compelling argument that the cumulative pounding that Burrow has taken thus far in his career exceeds what Allen has taken, despite Allen playing a much more physical style. Burrow hangs in to the last second and gets blasted a lot, and he has to because of his line play. Yesterday may have been a routine tackle, but at 28 years old, he's probably absorbed the abuse that someone in their mid 30s at the position would have taken, so he's probably more likely to get injured as a result at this point.

The reason is he averages 3 sack per game throughout his career, and it's not because he doesn't know how to read a defense or work a pocket. If I was Burrow or his agent, I'd be looking for a way out of Cincy before he gets a career ending injury in his prime.

I avoided Bills gear, sat in the same chair (not because of superstition, but because my dogs own my condo, and by extension my couch) and enjoyed the game. From a former Bills QB who now counts himself among Bills Mafia, this is about as strong of and as an impassioned a public rebuke as you will get. Fitzy’s calling us out out loud whereas Allen was a little more subtle. Don’t take this iteration of this team for granted. It will be gone all too soon.
