You make good points, but he was A problem, just not the only problem. He got torched much more than normal. But KC just has too much firepower.

I read somewhere a while back that teams have been keeping the QBs apart during the week, not watching film etc together, in case one of them did test positive. Didn't Cam Newton test positive during the season but his backup played?

That is true if there is a point to winning the game like a higher seed. You don't want him rusty either so a little play is good. But I'm thinking coaches, players, owners, GM and fans all want this to be a "statement" game on the national stage against a hated team and head coach.

2020 MVP Race - Has Mahomes been incredibly lucky?
CodeMonkey replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do you think the MVP voters are looking at dropped interceptions? That they are pouring over stats down to that minutia? Touchdowns, game winning drives maybe, but I'd be shocked if they spent a lot of time researching season stats and go more by their gut feel of the season. Most improved, Allen hands down. Freaking guy re-learned how to throw a football this past off season, that's insane. MVP I suspect though goes to the "sexier" team situation and better known player who, as you say, has displayed "otherworldly talent" this season as well. -
Josh vs Tua collegewise
CodeMonkey replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Also remember, the quality of the defenses are lower in Josh's college situation as well. -
After the Fitz Magic performance this past weekend, I don't want the fish. Tuo is a kid who could go wild, Fitz could heave the ball 40 yards with a DE hanging off of his facemask. Give me a known quantity.

How do you know when Bills fans have gone too far?

I should get my wife 1 for xmas ... but I just can't -
Great job as always with the post @Virgil. Agree with the coach McD comments. But no mention of the 4th down mistake? Love him as a coach overall, and the team continues to play great for him, but man some of the in game stuff is frustrating. Up by 22 middle of the 3rd. 4th down close to the endzone. He decides to go for it and "end the game" when a field goal would have ended the game as well. Up by 25 would have meant even if Denver scored 3 unanswered TDs *and* managed to convert all of the 2 point conversions, the Bills are still up by 1 point. But he decides to do the macho thing that at least the drunk fans wanted him to do and go for it. Then compounds the mistake by challenging it. At 22 points and a potential momentum changer, it was still within reach by Denver. Fortunately the team bailed out their coach as he bails them out like what was mentioned in the OP regarding Josh and retaliation. Coach McD needs an assistant with a headset on telling him in game situations. I'd even prefer burning a timeout and having coach think about it to what happened. He lost a timeout anyway on the challenge. No harm this time, in the playoffs, who knows.

Stick a fork in them - The Cheats* out of the playoffs

I was very glad after it happened. Color me paranoid, but I did not want to somehow run into Bellycheat in the playoffs. -
Impact of Bad Coaching on Good Talent

We were commenting during the 2nd half what time in the next 24 hours Lynn gets fired. -
Even if you couldn't cash it out without betting it again first, you'd still be playing with house money!

Geez you can't beat that deal. I'd even bet on football with those rules

Tell them not to watch any more games.

Poyer came in late and knocked a Bills defender off the ball. Certainly helped hopkins. They showed him after the game you could tell he was sick about it.

Is Tua hype the new Darnold hype?
CodeMonkey replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I watched a fair amount the the fish game yesterday and some in previous weeks. Tua is improving steadily every week and played well in a tight game pressure situation yesterday. In terms of Seattle's D yesterday, I found myself wondering even with Wilson, how could a team have 6 wins with essentially a high school level defense. The hardest decision for Josh yesterday was which wide open receiver to throw to. Basically Tua is the shiny new QB in a market far more popular than Buffalo. If this sort of thing pisses you off, prepare to be pissed off a lot -

Vegas sets/adjusts their lines based on trying to balance out the betting between the 2 teams. Not solely, or even largely, based on who they think will win.

Postgame Thread Bills vs. Patriots

They should still make the playoffs, just look at the [lack of] strength of the AFCE Making some noise in the playoffs? Certainly does not look like it right now. -

Extremely lucky to suck out the W. Without the turnover the Bills almost certainly would have lost. But any W is better than a L. Against the cheaters, even as ugly a game as that was, makes it that much sweeter. It's pretty obvious the Bills aren't going to do great things this season, but they are 6-2 and beat the Pats. I'll gladly take it at the midway point. -
An ugly win is better then a beautiful loss

McClappy sure seems to like it. He was just on the local news and was 100% all smiles. Saying he hoped everyone at home was as happy as he was. Sounded like he was happy with the teams performance. -
Anyone want some rando Bills stuff??
CodeMonkey replied to 4_kidd_4's topic in Bills Tickets and Gear
