  1. Andre Smith gives this team some needed depth at LB, Matakevich has also been a nice surprise as I wrote him off as a fanatic special teams specialist but seeing him be someone that can add depth to the team is a nice plus. The front office continues to build the team very well.
  2. I wouldn't write off Lock just yet as I think that within six weeks Bridgewater is likely to lose that starting job and Lock in my opinion could see 8ish starts as if the Broncos are sub .500 with Bridgewater (which is likely) they will probably throw Lock in just to see what they have with him one last time. If Lock performs well in those starts he could get another shot to compete for a job.
  3. Love Baldy's breakdowns. I think the D-line is going to be sick this year esp if Star can be the true one tech this team missed last season.
  4. That actually reminds me of when Keenan Allen awhile back got a season ending injury for a lacerated kidney. These weird types of injuries just happen sometimes. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/14044550/keenan-allen-san-diego-chargers-headed-ir-lacerated-kidney I wouldn't be happy if I were a Broncos fan. They really have been very mediocre since they won the Super Bowl in Peyton's last season. They never make a good decision on a QB. They were in position to draft Josh Allen at pick 5 when they didn't have much at QB and instead went with a defensive player. Now they are stuck in a division with Mahomes and possibly another talented QB in Herbert and they bench a young QB with some promise for a mediocre starter in Bridgewater. The Broncos aren't just bad they are directionless bad.
  5. I don’t think the Pegulas want to move the Bills however I do think that the current stadium and its economics don’t work for them either. I am not sure what the local economic and political environment in Buffalo is like to support a stadium but if the appetite just isn’t there for a deal it might get contentious.
  6. I think the Bills would easily give up MT for a single first round pick, but that being said no realistic trade for Mitch is happening. Yes one team like the Jets or another team lacking a backup might give up a later round pick for Mitch but no team is giving up anything draft compensation wise that would tempt the Bills. The Bills need a backup QB and Mitch is one of the better ones in the league. The Bills are also trying to develop a reputation as a "QB factory" and that will allow the Bills the ability to attract Mitch like projects going forward and constantly ensure cheap high end backups.
  7. I think he takes the money after his rookie deal expires if he is performing well enough to justify a fairly big extension. The risk of playing out a rookie deal when the Jags have the franchise tag in their back pocket is simply too great for him to not just take a huge guarantee. Then once he is approaching the end of his second contract he will tell the Jags basically that he isn't going to resign once his deal ends. By that point he will have collected on a big contract and have the ability to make whatever decisions he wants football wise. I think that will be a trend among top tier QB's. Similar to what star NBA players do towards the end of their second contracts.
  8. Another fair comparison. I feel like we will be seeing QB's in the future wanting to leave organizations that they feel aren't putting a good enough team around them like star NBA players. QB's are really the only NFL players with comparable leverage. I could see Lawrence as he is approaching 30 asking out of Jacksonville if they can't put a decent team around him.
  9. Injuries are the worst part of football. Just hard to see a talented player go down like that.
  10. If Mitch also gets a shot at a starting job next year the Bills will start to develop a reputation as a QB rehabilitation center and attract more reclamation projects who will make great cheap backups. It’s a great play both long and short term.
  11. I feel like Lawrence will have a Matt Ryan type career. A very good QB who flirts with being elite. Not saying they are the same kind of player but just that type of career trajectory. Which isn't a bad thing necessarily.
  12. I think that there will be a trade of a vet player for a late round pick and Addison makes sense but in the end I feel that McD’s weird loyalty to vets will come through and Addison stays. I think McD wants two dependable vets on that rotation.
  13. The best solution is to have 50% of the stadium paid for by a bond that will get repaid by revenue sources from the stadium over a period of time. That will long term not cost the city anything as their amount will be repaid to them with interest within 10-15 years of the stadium being built. Economically stadiums are bad “investments” for cities. Fronting the money and getting it on the back end is the best for all parties involved.
  14. Easily McD, a head coach is the CEO of the team and right now McD has proven he can be the CEO of a pro team whereas Daboll has yet to prove that he can manage an organization. I would trust this front office and McD to find a new OC once Daboll is gone. I don’t think up ending the team to keep an assistant over a successful HC is possible but even in the hypothetical sense I would still pick McD.
  15. I wonder how good of an investment a pro team actually is? Compared to just putting that money into an index fund and reinvestment of dividends? I know people have gotten big returns on franchises but I also know that it’s not always flipped for a big return either.
  16. It’s pre season chill...
  17. Give me Tyrod over Mitch but it is an interesting argument.-
  18. I guess my idea is that if you want this guy to be a positive locker room influence why not keep him around until final cuts? Is he no longer positive in the locker room? We’re there no other marginal players you could have cut instead? Just seemed odd.
  19. I get your point but they only had to cut 5 players, I have to think out of 90 man roster there are probably 10-15 players that are purely filler so it’s not like you couldn’t cut another marginal player?
  20. Surprised Tebow got cut so early. We all knew he wasn’t going to make the team but if his purpose is to be a positive locker room presence then why not keep him around until final cuts? Tebow will simply have to go back to his broadcasting gig not a bad landing.
  21. There definitely was some sort of issue on third and long in 2020. Especially against better offenses it was a huge issue. It was just odd since I felt like in 2019 the defense was pretty solid on closing the door on third and long.
  22. Solid CB’s won’t be cut but there are likely to be some vets available.
  23. Not sure why Kumerow is a lock for you? But either way the Bills have in my opinion 5 players for sure better than Zay and another 3-4 in his ballpark. Love that this team got a pick for him and I hope his career pans out in Vegas.
  24. KC is a legit team and they fixed (or at least massively invested in) their biggest weakness their O-line. They brought in two All-Pro caliber talents in Mankins and Brown while also adding a starting caliber center in Blythe and kicking tires on a good veteran in Long. On top of that they drafted Humphries in the second round and are getting back two players from opt out. They still have dynamic weapons in Hill and Kelce for Mahomes to throw to and a good RB in Edwards among solid complementary pieces. Their defense while not very good is far from tragic as they have a solid secondary and a big time disruptor in Jones. KC is the favorite in the AFC for good reason. Hopefully the Bills have a meaner nastier D-line ready to compete with them.
  25. Being red-shirted in a new position isn't the worst fate for him. Come in learn the system and the playbook while also getting to know the coaches and the organization. Hoping for the best for him.
