  1. Isaiah Simmons has played the majority of his snaps at OLB and CB, but has played 508 snaps at MLB for the Cards. I would assume that's a sufficient sample size of plays at MLB for a reasonable evaluation. The Cardinals have declined his 5th-year option. Simmons' salary for next season is an affordable 1.4 mil with a cap hit of 6.5 mil. Should his 508 snaps at MLB show well, perhaps a trade for Simmons would be the Bill's answer at MLB for next season.?
  2. I think this season, the race for the AFC East Division will be the most competitive we have seen in this division in decades. Perhaps it will come down to the winner being the team that stays the healthiest at critical times and/or throughout the season. Unfortunately, the downside to having such a competitive race, is the likelihood that the only team to make the playoffs from the AFC East will be the Division winner.
  3. Read the first sentence again. If there is a huge upgrade in the guard position, it will come from the draft. Also coming from the draft is our Big Boby TE/ Slot.
  4. For me, the key to our improvement is how well Beane did in the draft, and how quickly McDermott can get our top four picks up to speed. Discounting the Draft, I would say in the AFC East, the Jets and Miami made significant improvements to their rosters. Buffalo and New England pretty much just shuffled the deck in free-agency roster moves.
  5. I think Kincaid will be #2 in targets and receptions next season, thus becoming the Bill's #1 TE.
  6. I'm expecting this to be the most competitive AFC East race in decades. Based strictly on rosters, I would have to say the Jets improved the most, followed by Miami. Buffalo and New England have made changes to their rosters, but nothing that really moves the needle for either team. It might come down to the winner of the AFC East being the team who stays the healthiest throughout the season.
  7. I think Beane drafts better in round five than in rounds 2-4. Would not be surprised if Shorter turns out to be the "diamond in the rough" for the Bills in the 2023 draft. Shorter was behind WR studs at Penn State, and consequently never saw the field. And at Florida, he had a revolving door at QB, OC, and Head Coach.
  8. Beane will pick the best special teamer. It's become a pattern of Beane's in the 3rd round.
  9. Yes, there is certainly a need to hope. I hope Torrance develops some quickness so he is not eaten up by 3 technique tackles. I hope we stop drafting special teamers in the 3rd round. This is becoming a troublesome pattern.
  10. Hope I’m wrong, but I think we did not do well on day two of this draft. 😞
  11. If Bijon Robinson is on the board at 20, the Bills jump in front of the LA Chargers and draft Robinson.
  12. Let's not forget that McDermott will be the DC this season. I'm betting Beane is going to help his buddy and draft a defensive player in the first round.
  13. Based on evaluations of most Draft Prospect evaluators, Bijon Robinson is an RB in the mold of Saquon Barkley with the additional skill set of a slot receiver. An NFL team can build an offense around this three-down back. I can see the Bills rushing him 12 to 15 times a game and throwing to him 5 to 8 passes/gm. I don't think there is another player in the draft, who could fall within a reasonable trade-up cost, that could have a more profound impact on the Bills offense for the next 5 seasons.
  14. Would like for Josh to have Diggs, Hopkins, and Bijon Robinson to play with.
  15. It's sad that we are seeing Bills fans struggling to rationalize the selection of a player with a second or third-round grade in the first round because of need. Let's hope if Beane goes that route the draft gods are with him and the player turns out to be the stud linebacker we are all hoping for.
  16. With the Bills in the win now mode, I would be inclined to have the Bills move up and select a player in their "can't miss draft and start" category. Based on the 2023 draft trade value chart, I would be comfortable trading up to pick 17.
  17. Pretty easy to get it from OBJ's side, 15mil. for one year.
  18. Have a trade partner ready to jump in front of the Chargers to draft Bijon Robinson.
  19. I think the Hamlin on-field cardiac arrest had a major negative on many players. To the point where they internalized the event and lost focus for the balance of the season. I base my opinion on player interviews, especially Tre White, and the fact that we had such poor performances against a depleted Patriots team and a Dolphins team led by a third-string QB. Not to mention being embarrassed at home by the Bengals. Hopefully, everyone has recovered and regained their focus. Had the Hamlin event not occurred, I think the Bills would have played much better at the end of the season.
  20. Perhaps this is a subtle message from Diggs to Beane to improve the quality of skilled players around Josh. Diggs and Jim Kelly might be on the same bandwagon.
  21. Thank you Jim Kelly!! Jumping ahead of the Chargers for Bijan Robinson would probably cost a 4th round pick. Even if it's a third, Bijan is not just a RB in the mold of a Saquon Barkley, Bijan is an outstanding receiver. Not to mention one of 14 players with a true 1st round grade.
  22. Too bad we are having such a hard time affording upgrades to our skilled positions. I'm hoping this off season that we at least get a running back on the roster better than Josh.
