  1. Another great post by Jimmy. Good to see you round these parts Spagnolo.
  2. I would say my only complaint is the inactive Shoutbox at the top of the topics on TSW. Aside from that, it seems to be pretty good. I would say that it looks "cleaner", though that is a poor descriptor.
  3. Kevin will forever be an inspiration to every Bills fan and every person that knows his story. When so many people would have given up, layed down and let life pass them by, he showed that heart, perseverance and an undying commitment to beat the odds can enable you to overcome most anything. The fact that he is standing and holding his daughters is better than winning the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl hasn't ever given back life to a man who almost had it stolen away.
  4. It would be a blessing to have it back in Buffalo, but it won't be the case. The law impacts Canadian companies directly, but does not impact foreign companies with temporary business licenses like the NFL. Even if it were to apply to Ontario, the corporate clout carried by Rogers, the group that teamed up with Ralph to bring the Bills in Toronto series to fruition, would over rule any government attempt to pressure the game off Canadian soil. On a similar note, I continue to be disappointed that they aren't coming to Seattle. I've been waiting 8 years to see them back in the PNW and have to go all the way to San Fran to see them. Though I love visiting Nor Cal, I'd much prefer the convenience of Seattle.
  5. My link Just posted the link in the Shoutbox. Humorous. Welker has to stop hanging out with Brady. He's starting to feel inadequate without the height, hair and Giselle. Maybe the next step is some shin extensions? The Pats have been a top 3 team every year that Brady has played. I'm not an ESPN guy, but I can't blame them for riding the Pats jock. They are one of the most consistent franchises over the last 10 seasons (Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Green Bay are up there with them) and winning keeps people interested. Rest easy though fellow Bills fans. Our time is very, very near.
  6. Canadian Tuxedos can actually be one of two things. Often they are a denim shirt with blue jeans (preferably in the same, faded color), but they can also be a thick flannel checked or plaid shirt with blue jeans. This depends on the occasion. The matching denim brings an air of formality to any occasion. By coupling either of these options with a fine Mullet or, preferably, a skullet, one can define themselves as "Canadian as can be". And, yes, I am Canadian. Like Rodman and Malone? That was a powerful duo! A tattooed, pierced, cross-dressing rebound machine teaming with a truck-driving, pick-and-rolling, absentee dad bound to make his life in Utah? It doesn't get any better!
  7. Evoking memories of Wayne Brady. Is Wayne Brady gonna have to slap a .....? Says the guy claiming to Buffalos #1 fan. I'll take that as a compliment coming from someone as obviously humorless as you.
  8. Nothing groundbreaking, nothing overly questionable. I like that the focus has been on the defense this year. Gives our o the opportunity to fly under the radar. They seemed to like that for 6 weeks last year.
  9. I have that same blue w/ red Buffalo M&N cap and it's easily my favorite. I understand the philosophy behind the charging buffalo vs. the standing buffalo, but I love the tradition and class of the AFL logo. There's nothing aggressive about the logos of numerous successful franchises (eg. GB, NYG, Pittsburgh), the Bills don't really need to have an aggressive buffalo to show that they play hard.
  10. Not bad. Similar to most every other Bills cap. I am such a fan of the AFL red buffalo logo, that this logo has always been ho-hum for me. The flat bill/brim is for some, but not for me. Always reminds me of Michael Landon's sidekick on Highway to Heaven and his Oakland A's cap. How did that guy lead a trend?
  11. I understand the philosophy of offering these two (Broadus and Combs) scholarships based on athletic merit. However, couldn't that money, given to two individuals whose family can afford double their tuition, be spent better elsewhere? I guess they need to attract the talent somehow and if they are legitimate talents, as I have understood from previous articles on each, then so be it. Must be tough to pass drug tests when dad passes down his blood type, THC.
  12. Sincerest condolences. Your dads artwork is fantastic. May it bring back fond memories for you and your family. I would be proud to have one or more of those posters framed and hanging in my home.
  13. Fair question. Dees reputation at Temple and UB was that of a no nonsense, intelligent coach. He's brought success to both programs in his areas of coaching, be it RB or O-line. I perhaps shouldn't jump the gun in attributing anything to him at this stage, and should have pointed more in the direction of the progress that the line has made under D'Alessandris. My faith in D'Allesandris is considerable and I believe that the move to acquire Dees services to assist with the offensive line will reflect on the quality of coach that Joe has proven to be.
  14. What are you on bud? The Bills don't play GB or the Chargers this year.
  15. Maybe health/seasoning should replace the word "improvements". Hairston, Sam Young, Colin Brown and Zebrie Sanders provide us with a definite improvement as back-ups. Hairston showed the ability to start at T, Brown is an actual C and Young and Sanders have the flexibility to play multiple positions. I like D'Alessandris and Andrew Dees and the work they have done with the line. Fitz's quick release keeps them from getting too worn down and his improvement in technique (working with David Lee) should only help even more. Like everything, it's a "wait and see" aspect to the team that certainly looks good on paper.
  16. That will tie in well with his wagon-building/barn-raising empire.
  17. I dunno about that. It is debatable. Philly added some beef to that defense and they will have had a full off-season to work together, something they sorely lacked last year. That defense really came together at the end of the year and adding DeMeco Ryans cannot be overlooked. I don't see why the Giants wouldn't come into the season as number 1 seeing as they won the Super Bowl, but they did lose a couple of offensive weapons in Manningham and Jacobs. The fact that they lost those two to San Francisco, who added some solid pieces to a very, very good team, makes for an even more interesting argument. Those three teams come into the season on a very level playing field and add a ton of intrigue to the NFC. See, told you it was debatable. I even debated myself on it.
  18. I'd actually love to see more players sleeping in those things. The results are proven. I guess the wives don't appreciate them as much as the fans. Kinda tough to get laid when you sleep in an isolated capsule.
  19. A great question. The versatility of Levitre is undeniable, but we have some good guards in the stable to back him up this year. Wood is our only legit C. Urbik did his best, but he is a guard. If Wood stays healthy for a year (big IF), he is my choice.
  20. 1/2 a brain, 1/2 the player he could have been. Fairley showed flashes last year, but I don't see him as much competition to Dareus. As other posters stated, I expected more out of him w/ the Lions defense. He seems to have found himself doing self-prostate exams with his head this off-season. What is wrong with some of these clowns? So many pro athletes seem to forget who and what they represent. Hope the commish suspends him for 3+ games.
  21. I am also disgusted. We should, at the very least, be lining up an offense of 8 Pro Bowl calibre players. Actually, if the previous regime had a clue when it came to drafting, this may not be so far fetched. With the number of high draft picks that have been blown over the past 13 years, there should be more talent on this squad. That being said, the defense has been addressed and the offense has shown the potential to be explosive, so we'll take what we got and hope for the best.
  22. OP.....why did you put so much "effort" into this post? It seems like you took a bunch of downers and decided to post the delusional ramblings that popped into your head. Prior to completely neglecting to mention the fact that a lot of our late round picks, UDFA's and FA's have had very successful careers despite their "pedigrees", you called Chan a "big time loser". I would have to argue that. He was left with a team of cast-offs and both an offense and defense that were largely devoid of talent. In two seasons, he has created an inspired team that looks ready to contend. Yes, he does have a great deal to prove. No, IMHO, he has not been a "big time loser" with the Bills. I'm not a homer and follow the entire league, not just the Bills. I see a lot of positives with this offense and am excited to see what they bring to the field. RB and FB are not even remotely an issue. CJ and FJax are a top 3 RB tandem in the league and Corey is a beast, despite his lack of carries. There is depth on a very talented, and well coached, O-line. LT is an issue, but we saw what happened with Hairston last year. There is no reason to expect any less from Glenn. We have a very smart QB who is being coached by a fantastic QB coach. He is somewhat of a question mark, but a lot more reason for optimism than the pessimism than you've expressed.
  23. Unreal. How the hell does someone get off asking to "let bygones be bygones" when they ruined your life? I'd have a few choice words for the "woman". I hope Banks gets a shot and would absolutely love to see his dreams become a reality.
  24. Punter. Build the D and eat up opposing teams.
  25. If you have a team that signed a player to a $100million dollar contract and is spending to the salary cap in an effort to satisfy long suffering fans, bringing in added revenue just became that much more essential. If heart and soul paid contracts, this team would be amongst the richest, if not the richest, in the league. As a fan, I hate the Toronto series. I worked at that stadium (Sky Dome/Rogers Centre) in the early 90's during the Blue Jays back-to-back World Series years. It's a big, cold, tomb of a venue that has horrible acoustics. It has no tailgating (truly an essential part of NFL football) because of the drinking laws. Toronto is a great city, but it is no NFL city. All that being said, it all comes down to the money that it makes and the long-term sustainability of the franchise in Buffalo. If the price of having the team remain as the Buffalo Bills is having one game a year in Toronto, then so be it. And at least the fans in WNY don't have far to go to watch the team. A lot better than the oft-talked about move to LA.
