  1. I'd take a look. The guy hardly practiced last year and still put up decent numbers on a very down year in TBay. His injury history is disconcerting, but he has proven to be a very good TE in both Cleveland and TBay.
  2. I got hooked early. I was astounded when I read the post, mainly because it was a vet poster that I had seen offer some strong and diplomatic feedback before. Good fun Buftex, good fun.
  3. I love your optimism Buftex, but let's not start counting our chickens here. We definitely don't have a HOF QB, RB or WR on this team. We might not even have one player (Maybe Mario and possibly Dareus in the future) even under consideration for the Hall. Compare this squad to those Super Bowl Teams position by position and you may reconsider your stance. Still....love your optimism.
  4. I though we were still denouncing them as incompetent. What is with you people? First it's this, then it's that.....
  5. You don't get the feeling that they are just going one-by-one and he is the next priority? Or, maybe your sarcasm just doesn't come across..... either way..... Good to see this getting taken care of quickly. The boys at OBD continue to take care of business.
  6. Duane Brown over Joe Thomas? Not even on Joe's worst day.
  7. I would hope that goes without saying. Flutie was a quarterback, RJ was just in the way. No QB likes anything in his way.
  8. I have to admit to being a Brees fan, so I'm biased here. That being said, why the hell wouldn't he make more than Sam Bradford? Better player, proven player, smarter QB, team leader, community-focused. Need more be said? It might come down to the length of the term and the guaranteed money. If he is paid $18.75 million , as suggested by BRAWNDO, over the first three years, bringing him to age 37 and only a guaranteed number of $6 or $7 over the last year of the deal, it would make some sense. A 5 year with big guaranteed, however, is pretty dumb for a 35 year old qb who definitely relies on his athleticism.
  9. As good a guess as any. I wish that there were spots for Carrington and Heard there, but as you stated, who do you cut to keep them? I don't know if we can keep 2 placekickers, so maybe that's one of them. Scott will probably see more time as a nickel LB than a SS, but that's just being picky.
  10. I agree with what you're saying, but if you start calling out those who do it, you won't stop. It will happen, despite it's pointlessness. It's an easy way of pumping up the post count which inflates somes self worth. Not saying that everyone is doing that, as posting a "+1" is an easy way of agreeing with a post. I prefer it if people don't just agree with a post, but if they add value to the thread by providing rationale.
  11. Victoria, Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario. Dad was a Bills fan, good friend had season tickets (but inexplicably liked the Fins), have been to 12 games at the Ralph. Wil always be a Bills fan....except if they move.
  12. Addai looked worn out last year. They've tried this before (Fred Taylor, Sammy Morris, Corey Dillon) with limited success. Not scared of this one in the slightest. He's no Green-Ellis
  13. You hit the nail on the head. Based on Freddie's salary last year, he should expect an increase in the $3 million dollar range annually. That is definitely more than what the 7th rounder would have seen in a 3 year deal, never mind annually. That being said, $390K is still a bucketload of money to most anyone that is not a pro athlete. I really, really want to see Freddie retire as a Bill. Watching him go elsewhere to finish his career would be a travesty. Maybe not a "Thurman to the Dolphins" moment, but a travesty regardless.
  14. So awesome. Knew what was coming, but took the bait anyways. I always get a kick outta that guy!
  15. Don't get sensitive. How is he supposed to know your history? Coleman was a good player in the nickle a few years back, but didn't amount to what the Jags expected from him. He may be worth a look, but we have a solid DB group that I know most here would like to see given the opportunity to play in Wanny's system and the expected QB pressure that it, and Mario and Mark, will be bringing this year. Can't argue that he has some qualities that would improve upon what we saw last year, just not sure if he isn't a luxury this year. Should I put a bunch of bowing smilies under my posts too?
  16. If I saw a man of that build on the street, I'd expect him to be a lot of things before I expected him to be a NFL QB. He does need to hit the gym for sure, but I'd expect him to be ready for camp. Players are allowed to ease off in the offseason and he probably held off heavy workouts to recover from his rib injury.
  17. Terrible news. I am hopeful that reports are false. I was a big Seau fan when he played for the Chargers
  18. If you look at it as a PR move, it`s a great one. If you look at it as a move to show support for a great person and a standout athlete who has experienced a very difficult, life altering injury, it`s an excellent one. This is a win-win and I, for one, completely approve of Schiano doing this. Classy, classy move.
  19. I don't Jacoby often, but when I do it's a Ford.
  20. I pray to God that he was being facetious. If not, he should consider some heavy football history research before ever posting on TSW again.
  21. Say what? Sounds like you were eligible for a bowl and you took it and smoked it.
  22. If Chan approves, I approve. I don't think VY can run an offense to the point that more intelligent QB's can, but if the right plays are put in place, he is a serviceable back-up with this squad. Is he better than Thigpen? Darned if i know. The real question is does Chix think he's better than Thigpen? They're bringing him in for a look because, chances are, they do.
  23. Valid points. I am blinded by my hate for the Pats sometimes. And my hate is blinded by my jealousy sometimes too.
  24. This is a two-parter. 1) The Harbaugh brothers have an opinion on everything(though I much prefer John to Jim, a major self-righteous d-bag who is just getting worse as the 49ers get better and he proves himself as a top coach) 2) he`s completely correct. Anyone stating a differing opinion on the Pats titles is blinded by Marsha and Bill`s continued strong play since the titles. They haven`t won the big game since they got caught and they`ve had similar, if not the same, talent level. If they win another one (and i expect they only have 2 or maybe 3 years to do so because of Brady`s age) then we can go back and re-evaluate. Based on the evidence though, we have to assume that Spygate played a role.
  25. This was my thought as well. Clark was a very good TE when teamed with Manning, but didn't show up last year and is nearing the end of his career. If he hasn't been picked up in a league where TE has become such an essential part of the offense, why would you think he would work here? Is the two TE set such an important part of Chan's offense? Nope!
