For people who went to grad school, the thesis defense is really a formality as your committee has been appraised af your progress and then say it's time to start writing. The department granted his PhD posthumously. Was also a reminder to not celebrate early.

Mighty Taco used to be open till 5 AM back in the 70s. Used to be open till 1 or 2 pre COVID. Now I think it is 11 or 12. Worked at a Dennny's 40+ years ago. Were open 24/7 then. Not anymore.We stayed open during a bad snowstorm on third shift. Only people that came in were the workers that plowed the plaza lots next door. I think they grossed $25-30 that shift. Not even enough to keep the lights on, much les pay us.
