Free agent RBS and WR’s

I think a more prudent approach this year in free agency is to go quality over quantity. If Beane believes there is a guy better than what we currently have at any position of need, they sign them early in the process. If not, just wait until after the crazy spending stops...then spend money on value depth types players that bring either a vet leadership presence or experience to help the youth of the team. That being said, i'd like for us to look at getting one of those top TE's in FA to pair with Knox and Sweeney. This will allow Knox to learn from a true #1 TE and Sweeney can replace Lee Smith as the #3. Daboll can now focus the offensive approach to a more ball controlled playaction type offense with 2 athletic TE's to threaten the seems & red zone. We can upgrade the speed outside with maybe a guy like Phillip Dorsett while the young rookie wideouts develop in spot duty...these weapons give Josh a plethora of options to get this offense going regardless of the opponent. Go get a starting RT, move Cody Ford to RG (he can also play RT if needed)...re-sign Spain and draft a C-G (although I think McBeane likes Bates in this swing spot) and the OL is set, imo. I would not sign a high price WR or RB in FA at all...a vet RB like Hyde, MacKinnon or Drake would be ok, if the value is there. But I do like Najee Harris (Alabama) because he's a big athletic back w/ great hands out of the backfield and he may be there in the 3rd-4th rd. I would place high value on an edge rusher in FA if one is available but don't overpay...I believe Edge & WR are our #1 targets in this draft. The draft is also deep for middle LB's, I would love to move Edmunds to the SLB and get an instinctive inside guy (not in the 1st rd) to replace him in the middle. -

That is the guy I want this year in the draft, he is also a threat receiving out of the backfield. I hope to land him in the 3rd as well... -
I agree that adding another back is necessary...I like these rb's for the Bills- J. Taylor, Wisc (hope he falls to the 2nd rd) or Najee Harris, Ala ( rd 2-4th).

I would like to see more...Is he a track guy playing RB? He has started this game off pretty good that is for sure. IMO, RB's are valued more for short area quickness, elusiveness (making the 1st guy miss) and finish (falling forward).

One thing the Bill's will have is cap space and spots to fill...so some of those needs will hopefully be addressed in free agency. My wishlist : DE- time to find that guy either in FA or draft MLB- Move Edmunds to SLB. He's not instinctive or physical enough at middle but could be a good edge setter & edge rusher ala Lomax... WR- good draft for wideouts RB- draft a good downhill runner, could be had in the middle rounds. DT- Big nasty that can plug & move down the LOS...maybe even 2, one FA & one draft. Make opponents try to run wide, we're pretty good covering defending wide.

Hoyers signs 3 year deal with the Colts
pimp on da' net replied to GoBills!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jacoby's a much better QB than journeyman Hoyer...Hoyer lost out to the rookie Stidham straight up! If he had any value the Pats would've kept him or tried to trade him... TBH, Hoyer had his starting shot on how many occasions? Cleve, Texan's, Niner's....yada yada! -
Should the NFL eliminate the onside kick?
pimp on da' net replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like the 4th & 12 version starting at the 28 yd line used by AAF...one caveat any pass interference or illegal contact (5yd holding) are not automatic 1st down unless the infraction happens past the line to gain for a 1st down on the play. -
Conditional Picks - The Pats
pimp on da' net replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In fairness to OBD, they are trying to build a roster by drafting and developing player w/ select FA signing sprinkled in...the Pats on the other hand have less turnover year to year. One caveat, NE has started trading for developing player lately using mid round pick, which I believe don't count against the formula. Case in point: Long before the draft began, the Patriots: Received a first-round pick from the Los Angeles Rams for Brandin Cooks Received a second-round pick from the San Francisco 49ers for Jimmy Garoppolo Gave up a fourth-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for Eric Rowe Gave up a fifth-round pick to the Oakland Raiders for Cordarrelle Patterson Gave up a fifth-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks for Cassius Marsh Gave up a sixth-round pick to the Cleveland Browns for Jason McCourty Gave up a seventh-round pick to the Cincinnati Bengals for Marquis Flowers Received a seventh-round pick from the Seattle Seahawks for Justin Coleman Gave up a 2019 third-round pick to the Cleveland Browns for Danny Shelton Many of those deals also included swaps and tinkering with late-round selections I expect Beane to dabble with this approach this year with all these draft picks... -

OT Jonah Williams in the first

This ^^^^^ I would like to see what FA are signed to fill the needs on the team and use the draft for player development & scheme fit. They have to protect Josh first & foremost then get some playmakers to go with this offense. It's more costly to sign WR's, CB & DE in free agency, my gut tells me that management will target OL, DT & TE position there and draft playmakers and develop them going forward. J. Williams may be the guy, if he grades higher than a FA OL pickup...A Dawkins move to the inside would be a great move, does McBeane agree with this assessment? Off-season moves should be very interesting either way...Go Bills! -

Anthony Barr & Tyron Smith are pretty darn good as well... CJ was a specialty back that worked well with a creative coach that schemed to his strength but a luxury type pick. -
Poll: Draft Greedy Williams in the 1st Round?
pimp on da' net replied to Haplo848's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would prefer we address the OL in FA...the new age college offensive scheme have made it very difficult to judge adaptability to the NFL. FA is a better route to fill the needs on the OL, imo...keep drafting & developing OL with the 3-5th rd picks for depth with the hopes of finding that gem. -
2019 draft Wish List(trade back)
pimp on da' net replied to MakeBuffaloGreatAgain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wist list 2019: Free Agency: Ju'Wuan James- RT Matt Paradise - C This sures up 3 critical positions (LT,RT & C) for a functional line, imo. The guard play will improve with better center leadership... Tyrell Williams- WR Red zone & down field target decent size Phillip Dorsett- WR hasn't done much so far in the league but his speed has to be respected, can fill the jet sweep & downfield target so badly needed for Josh. Jesse James - TE Ideal size & chain mover to keep drives alive & red zone target. EJ Gaines- CB he knows McD & Frazier's system shouldn't cost too much...even tho I like how Wallace is developing. I also don't want McBeane drafting a CB in the 1st rd, LOL! 2019 Draft: 1st rd- Best player available I would love to get Ed Oliver if he's there when we pick but I wouldn't be surprised that they have their eye's on a CB here with a 9/10 pick. 2nd-4th rd- Best offensive player available- RB, WR or OL players I like in this position : 2nd rd grade- Damian Harris RB, M. Brown (Jr) WR, Noah Fant TE or OL 3rd rd grade- If no WR in previous rd, Parris Campbell, Deebo Samuel- WR (I'd like hybrid type players w/ speed for Daboll offense), best OL player 4th rd grade (2 picks)- Khalil Hodge ILB tackling machine (move Edmunds to SLB), best DB or pass rusher avail... My 2019 wishlist, subject to change! ? -
2019 Mock Draft already up...
pimp on da' net replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All depends on what they bring in during free agency...use that to fill the team needs. Use the draft to identify & select players that fit the team profile & scheme, imo. I wouldn't be upset at drafting Baker due to his playmaking skill set in a defensive scheme that McD & Shepard require out of the DB's. -

Sal Carpaccio’s Plan To Fix Offense in 2019
pimp on da' net replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he's the best WR the 2019 draft has to offer...I'll pass in the 1st rd.. Most of these highlights are against lower tier programs, I watched him against Alabama this year and you hardly noticed him.
