  1. I feel this narrative is getting kind of old. The Rams made their first super bowl under McVay based off amazing draft picks (many of which had already been drafted), not FA, and a fresh perspective from their young HC. They drafted Cooper Kupp, they drafted Goff, they drafted Tyler Higbee, they drafted Gurley, and they drafted Donald (off the top of my head). This second super bowl rendition of the Rams is more of a mercenary approach, b/c if you look at the draft history under McVay, there are many more misses than hits. They really haven't drafted well since he's been there. But the entire key in all this was the ability to trade for Stafford. How many times is a player like Stafford available for a trade? All the Ramsey's, OBJ's and Von Miller's in the world would've meant squat without the ability to trade for Stafford. And it was a huge gamble, b/c as we saw multiple times this year, Stafford still almost blew it for them. Where would the Rams be right now without their ability to trade for Stafford? Likely not the super bowl. The Rams have been able to make it work but i'm not sure how their approach can be applied to other teams around the league. There aren't many Stafford-type QB's available for trade every season. If the Rams hadn't been able to trade for Stafford they'd probably be looking at another 9-7/10-6 season, with an early exit in the playoffs, all while being in cap hell. The approach the Chiefs and even Bills have taken is much more sustainable in my opinion. You have to hit on some key draft picks and supplement them with mid-tier veteran FA signings. In my opinion it creates an atmosphere where success can last 10+years, whereas the Rams may be on the brink of collapse within 1-2yrs. Or who knows, maybe they'll trade for Josh Allen in 2 years.
  2. As long as Allen is protected in the pocket, we dont need to have superstars at WR. We already have one in Diggs. Brady is the best QB in history with a bunch of no-names for the majority if his career. How many times did we see him standing like a statue in the pocket for 5-6 seconds? Diggs + Davis + Vet FA WR + mid-round rookie in the draft is plenty. Especially with Knox coming into his own at TE. Take a flier on a speed WR in rd 3 or rd 4. Sure up the oline to protect our greatest asset is my thinking.
  3. If we arent trading up and Linderbaum is there that almost seems like a no brainer. Linderbaum has day 1 starter and perennial pro bowler written all over him. We have to protect Allen.
  4. Where do some of you come up with these hot takes?
  5. I never said hes the greatest player ever. Now youre just creating an imaginary discussion. People talking about grabbing Tyreek type players like they’re a dime a dozen. Lets get ourselves a Thurman Thomas type RB too in this draft. Wouldnt mind a TJ Watt type DE in the second round. Finish it off with a deion sanders type CB in the 3rd
  6. Tyreek Hill is an elite player. Perhaps top 3 offensive player in the NFL with his explosiveness. You know whats very likely going to happen searching for a “Tyreek type” this draft? You’ll end up with a McKenzie type player.
  7. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Perhaps. I feel when they actually made an effort to incorporate him he was more than good enough. He took over the 2nd patriots game.
  8. Im sure Dick Jauron and Doug Marrone were phenomenal interviews
  9. Why cant McKenzie be that player?
  10. My parents are from Spain. Im ethnically hispanic in this country, but racially white. This country has a hard-on for classifying people. My parents never knew they were hispanic until they came here. Being from Spain, they simply considered themselves european and white. We like our subcategories and creating dozens of boxes that very few people can neatly fit into anymore. Latino and Hispanic arent a race. Flores is ethnically Latino/Hispanic and racially black. So in short, hes both. Its more nuanced than black/white unfortunately. And Flores isnt double-dipping. It simply is what it is.
  11. Grass can be green anywhere as long as you water it.
  12. I dont understand how some people act like gambling on games never occurred before? Like Fanduel is somehow now to blame. Or Vegas hasnt existed for - basically - ever. Like the Romans werent gambling on gladiators. If someone is willing to take a $200k bribe to “throw a game” does anyone think that same person cares whether or not the NFL has finally partnered with Fanduel? That 200k bribe could have just as easily been offered and taken 60yrs, 70, 80 yrs ago bc we have this thing called..wait for it….wait for it…….. WAIT FOR IT: MONEY. This thing we call money has existed since football was invented. Theres this other thing called briefcases where money can be placed. Another thing called telephones allow these conversations to occur. And so far ive only scratched the surface of this revolutionary 1950s/1960s era technology. Wait until we get into wire transfers. All kidding aside.. The legalization of sports gambling brings regulation and taxation into the fold. One can easily argue that this synergy, between the gambling industry, states legalizing it and the NFL only makes it HARDER for this kind of stuff to occur. People need to remind themselves of a couple of simple things when it comes to sports and gambling: 1. The opportunity to cheat will always be present 2. Betting will always occur, regardless of legality. Now i hope you can all sleep soundly at night without the tinfoil on your pillows.
  13. I see. Now 13 seconds makes sense! Check Sean’s bank account.
  14. You didnt read what I said very well. My post never mentioned anything about duration of their football experience as players. Also, i never said it has to be even ratios. The problem, which you seem to miss, is that we are so far into the extreme of UNEVEN ratios - 1 black HC in the league - that questions need to be asked. But carry on.
  15. The Daboll hire for the Giants makes sense in many ways. I dont view it as racist, from the outside looking in. That being said, i guess my post was more geared to the spirit of Flores’ lawsuit more so than the specific example of Daboll/Giants/Flores.
  16. This is a nuanced topic. Im against someone being hired bc of their race as much as im opposed to someone being rejected bc of their race. I think we can all agree the NFL has a problem. The majority of players are black. The vast majority of coaches are white. All the owners are white. Im pretty good at math and that doesnt add up properly. Forget about discussing the owners being white - thats too obvious and beyond the realm of fixable. As for the coaches being white…logic and reason would suggest some of the best candidates to coach a team are those who have been around the game. Logic follows players are around the game. Following that logic most NFL coaches have played football either in the NFL or in college at some point, regardless of how good they were - they played. Awesome. Logic is flowing so far. A very good portion of NCAA football players are black. The overwhelming majority of NFL players are black. Nevertheless, the overwhelming majority of HC and coaching assistants are NOT black. Logic and reason are now broken. We have a problem. Are former black football players simply not interested in coaching? I dunno. Theres no point in lying to each other. I think if we have an honest conversation we can admit somewhere along the chain there is a serious problem. The question is how do we fix it. Im not sure the Rooney rule is the solution.
  17. I really like the Baker commercials. Is have a beer with the dude
  18. Have a drink man
  19. Im not even being a homer when i say this but i agree. Allen has elevated his game yet again from what we saw in the playoffs. It was like He was playing in a video game and everyone was playing real-world. In short, he basically went Neo on us from the Matrix. Hes the one.
  20. QB - Elite WR - Elite Safety duo - Elite (as a duo id say they play at an elite level) one can argue that Tre White when healthy is an elite corner. Guess we need to ask whats elite? Top 5 at the position? and then yeh a bunch of good and very good. But how many teams have more than 3-5 elite players. We have elite talent we were 13 seconds away from back to back AFC championship games
  21. This isnt the 2014 Bills anymore. We have elite talent.
  22. Maybe its a knee jerk reaction, but what this game showed me is that we need a new defensive coordinator. The Bengals ADJUSTED within the game.
  23. Chiefs got some voodoo ***** going on
  24. Hes going to need as many seasons as possible to keep Allen from breaking his records. 🥰
