BREAKING NEWS: Jauron to be retained

Exactly. It apparently costs too much to eat up DJ pedestrian contract. The couple of million of dollars are obviously more important to Ralph than putting together a freaking competent coaching staff. -
BREAKING NEWS: Jauron to be retained

this !@#$ing sucks -
I completely forgot about the April thing until it was pointed out in this thread. Anyway...at least we're all pretty much in consensus. I can't wait until tomorrow to find out what the heck is going on with this team.
-
Ya, I completely forgot about the April firing. Good point.
-
He def. has. But San Fran STILL scored more points than us and had a higher ranked offense than we did going through a QB change and a coaching change in the same season.
-
Ya, i'm not sure how I'd feel about him either...but I'm just looking at our options. I would prefer Martz over Turk though.
-
If we keep DJ as head coach...one of our coordinators will most surely have to be let go. Seeing that our offense was one of the worst in the league, I can't see how Turk can stay. Not only that, but Turk has no prior record to justify him staying or assuming that he'll turn it around. Will he? Who knows. Would anyone be up for bringing Martz in here as the OC?? Ideally I would want DJ gone, but I think Martz would be an upgrade over Turk. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...6888&id=420

For all those clammorng for Cowher

Perhaps, I just think that he's been in the league long enough to field one. If he wanted a winner that badly, you figure it would've happened by now. In this case, the blind squirrel doesn't find the nut. -
Bill from NYC's dream draft

Tebow should consider himself lucky if he's even drafted. The sh-- he pulls off in college doesn't translate to the NFL. -

I just wish people would be realistic. 1. Cowher will cost too much for Ralph 2. Why would Cowher want to go from working for one of the best owners in the NFL - willing to do whatever it takes to put a winner on the field - to a team who's led by an owner that is content with an eternal 8-8 record? Cowher=pipe dream. -
Bill from NYC's dream draft

lol..especially when you run a cover 2 that requires your DB's to sit back 10yds behind the line of scrimmage and wait for the plays to come to them. Logically, we need top-notch talent for that. -
lol..not very good?

And with the 11th Pick in the 2009 NFL Draft

Ya, either way we're going to need an upgrade at LB. There are a few scenarios, however, and we may not have to draft one if we're able to keep Crowell, or pick up a FA LB this offseason. I personally would rather sign a veteran LB, and draft a DE than vise/versa. Regardless, TE will have to be addressed in the first 3 rounds...I can't see any other way around that. We play one man down every single time on offense. Royal may have had more drops than catches this year. Simply horrid. -
To me, that play should be reason #1232345 why DJ should be fired. Inexcusable. Winning coaches NEVER make mistakes like that. There are simply way too many blunders from this coaching staff; it's just unacceptable.

And with the 11th Pick in the 2009 NFL Draft
bobobonators replied to Nightcrawler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh ya, and for those of you who are calling for Unger or Mack as our first pick in the draft (which I personally think is ludicrous to draft a C in the first round--but that's another topic I'd happily participate in), just a word of caution: Name me the top defenses that Mack and Unger have faced during their collegiate careers on a weekly basis? While not taking anything away from them, the Pac-10 isn't really known for their stout defensive lineman. Just something to consider, that's all. Caldwell has faced some of the top defenses in college football year after year and held his own most of the time. -
And with the 11th Pick in the 2009 NFL Draft
bobobonators replied to Nightcrawler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is the priority I give to the positions we need to improve. This isn't necessarily the order I think we should draft..b/c it depends on FA. 1. DE 2. TE 3. C 4. LB 5. DT 6. WR 7. DB My dream draft for the first 3 picks would be as follows: 1. Michael Johnson - DE - I know a lot of people would probably prefer Orakpo, but quite frankly, I just don't see him being there when we draft. I personally think that Johnson (I've watched GT quite a lot) has arguably the most tools/raw talent of any DE in this draft. He's a FREAK...he actually reminds me a bit of Kearse (in terms of build/wingspan)...his only drawback in my opinion is the fact that he's still kinda raw. But hey, look at Ware, he didn't come into the league and dominate from the beginning..he had a bit of a learning curve and now he's a complete beast. Johnson is a freakishly good talent/athlete, and when was the last time the bills had someone like that? 2. Chase Coffman - TE - To me it's simple: This damn team has been playing with one less player on offense since Metzelaars played here. This difficiency HAS TO END THIS OFFSEASON. A solid TE is one of the most important pieces/safety nets for a developing QB. Coffman is a high motor guy, with very good size, EXTREMELY good hands, and a never say die attitude. There's a chance that he could still be there for us in the 2nd round. We would need to take him there - no questions asked. 3. Antoine Caldwell - C - This guy has anchored the Crimson Tide's OL during his entire collegiate career. He's smart, he's quick, and pretty damn athletic for an OL. I even think he earned his degree in 3 years or something like that - I'd have to look that one up. He doesn't come with as many bells and whistles as say a Mack or Unger, but he could very well make it into the 3rd round. If he's there when we draft in the 3rd, we should def. snatch him up. I need time to think of the remaining 4 picks. Hopefully the Bills can at LEAST land a solid veteran LB in FA to replace Ellison, b/c he simply has no business starting. I wouldn't expect the bills to make a big splash in FA - as usual. If the Bills are incapable of even getting a veteran starting LB in FA, then the 3 guys above will have to change imo (ie draft a LB with our 2nd pick). -
Provide me a single game where Dick Jauron, in his tenure here, has outcoached the opposing team's coach. Just one game. On the other hand, I can provide at least 5 games just THIS season where DJ was the one that was outcoached. Please. I like DJ the person. I don't like DJ the coach. He needs to be fired. Bring in Steve Spagnola or Fassel or Cowher or even Mariucci. Ralph needs to move here, and move quickly. If DJ was playing for his coaching life this past sunday, then he failed MISERABLY. He should've been fired right after that horrid run that we did to end the first half. Typical DJ, and typical buffalo.
