Pretty sure they don't count the 1st and 4th invested in Diggs, nor do they count the 1st and 4th invested in Kincaid, who despite being a TE was 100% drafted to be a receiving weapon for Josh. And also, the top 10 teams spending the most on WR's are mostly bad teams and teams struggling to make the playoffs, if at all. Meanwhile, we are the number 1 scoring offense since 2020, 2nd most wins, 2 AFCCG's, 5 divisional titles, a ref screw job away from a SB this year, MVP QB season, and fielded the 16th greatest offense in NFL history in 2024. If anything, this is evidence that over investing in WR isn't the solution people think it is.

I feel like this has to be said to a lot of people every single draft season...some of you need to stop taking BPA so literal. BPA does not mean the literal best player still available regardless of position. Team needs is 100% part of the equation when it comes to BPA. That is universally true for every GM and team. So when it is being discussed that we should stick to BPA...that BPA is going to consist of players at positions where we have reasonable reasons to select said position at that stage of the draft. And for the Bills that is likely going to be a WR, DB, or DL when talking round 1.

Its possible...by most boards he is listed at WR4, but I do think he could still be one of the first couple WR's taken, so I think its more likely he is gone. Like how in 2020 where Ruggs was WR3 by most accounts yet still was the first WR taken over both Jeudy and Lamb. I personally prefer to grab someone like Kenneth Grant in the first and start shoring up our DL with some badly needed beef. But, if they took Golden instead I wouldn't be upset or anything.

Yeah I would sprint to the podium if he is. I am not sold he makes it to us in the 4th despite being projected as a late 4th or 5th rounder. I mean not many 6'5" guys with 4.3 speed, so wouldn't surprise me to see him go much earlier than projected. He led the country in YPC and he led his team in receiving yards despite less than 30 receptions.

I keep hoping to see us linked to this guy...crazy combo of size (6'5") and speed (4.3)...one of my top targets for the 4th and I wouldn't hate us moving up a bit to make sure we get him. My biggest sleeper WR of 2025

I never thought Beane would eat the $31M and trade him last year...I figured they would make it work one more year then part ways this offseason. So I am not going to say "never"...but...I think the odds of Diggs suiting up as a Buffalo Bill this year are pretty slim to say the least. Just don't see it. They just ate $31M to not have him here...so why bring him back now and coming off a major injury and being a year older too. Josh had his best season yet, won MVP, and was a ref screw job away from the SB in his first season without him since we originally traded for him.

He had a wrist injury…that didn’t hamper his effort and ability running routes. And if you watch him on the field he didn’t look like the same guy that got hot with Flacco force feeding him targets. And that is another issue with him his whole career. When he isnt getting fed targets he isn’t playing in the same gear. He just doesn’t bring the fire and focus every snap you want and expect to see from a WR of his caliber. And in an environment like ours where it’s everybody eats and he isn’t been fed consistently, his style gets more complacent…now add that to aging, where it takes a bigger commitment mentally and physically to be at the top of your game and you get even more inconsistent.

As I have said many times before...there is also just a gear missing from Amari, has been his whole career. He doesn't have that hunger, fire, and focus every game he is out there. Number of games in his career under 40 yards is astonishing for a WR of his caliber. Now add in age to that equation...and its a double whammy at this stage of his career. To be on top of your game later in your career it requires a mental and physical commitment to the game, and I have just never felt Amari loved the game on that level. He strikes me as a guy more complacent than a guy fighting to be his best day in and day out both physically and mentally. He can get going still, but he strikes me as someone who picks his spots to do so rather than go all out whistle to whistle.

This is great news...frees up cap this year and we are free of the contract next year without a dead cap hit. Like most have already said, this is probably his swan song as a Bill. Not out of the question they bring him back next year on a cheap deal, but feels unlikely now with Bernard locked up and Dorian here.

I dont really disagree with this per se, I just think there is more upside than downside. By no risk, its a 1 year deal that based on the current pash rusher market is pretty inexpensive for a guy who has had his level of production especially (prior to injuries). I would have hated even a 2 year deal though to be fair. While I was living in LA, seen him play a lot, and I do think he has ability left in the tank if his body cooperates...but admittedly, that is a huge question mark given the last 3 seasons of injuries. I am not going to put percentages on anything, but I have seen plenty of injury prone guys or guys with recent bouts of injuries get past that before. And given its just a 1 year deal, we don't even need him to get permanently past it, just hold up one season...or more importantly, one post season as with Josh Allen here, we are going to always make the playoffs regardless to how much he plays in the regular season.

You mean the season where the Eagles had the best defense, top OL, and one of the greatest RB seasons of all time? The regular season where AJ Brown and Smith has their worst seasons as Eagles and only combined for just 1900 yards despite their massive contracts? That regular season?

Barkley did nothing in the SB. They won because they dominated the trenches

If you think that AJ Brown and Smith were “the reasons” the Eagles won the SB then I question your knowledge of football and how to analyze a football game.

That isn't what Barkley was paid this year when they won the SB. The Eagles are losing pieces this year as part of signing Barkley...and will Barkley hold up again is always a question given he has struggled with that in the past. And this list is NOT why they won the SB...they won the SB because they had the #1 defense and arguably the best OL in football. And that has more to do with them drafting well then "paying" offensive skill players. The offense didn't even have to do a lot, and Barkley did nothing in the Super Bowl. Dominating the trenches is what won them the SB and its not really debatable.

Agreed...I mean they havent made the playoffs in 2 years doing this. Miami didn't make the playoffs with huge deals for Hill, Waddle, and Tua and they have no playoff wins since all playing together and only made the playoffs as a 6th or 7th seed. Philly rebuilt their trenches and defense and added the best RB in football to get back to, and finally win, the SB. They dethroned the reigning back to back champs in a dominant fashion by dominating the trenches. Its astonishing to me how teams, and even so many people around here, just don't understand this undeniable fundamental fact of winning football. You wanna pay Chase, I get it...but to make Higgins he highest paid WR2 in history makes no sense. If Burrow is so good, he shouldn't need 2 WR's taking up nearly $70M in cap space. Pay Chase and fill in guys around him that compliment him and the offense via low cost veterans and through the draft. This is why you don't let your QB be your GM. I am going to LMFAO if they miss the playoffs again this year...and their division isn't getting any easier this year, nor is the AFC.

I don't know if he is washed or not, he is young enough still to bounce back, but also we don't know how his body can hold up given recent injury issues...but I will say this. Darius Slay looked totally washed 2 years ago and just had one of his best seasons and won the SB this past year at age 35. Bosa is still 29 and his biggest issue has been the injuries. If he can get past the injuries its not at all out of the question he could have a big bounce back year or even a few really good years still. Am I gonna bank on it, of course not...but a 1 year deal for just over $12M a year is a no risk really, but high reward type deal for us. So while I was against a Bosa signing when he was first cut because at 29 I figured someone was going to give him a multi-year deal and for a lot more money with how crazy contracts have been this off season. But as I said in that original thread, if he came cheap, then sure he can always be a rotational guy if need be with potential to bounce back. I just didn't expect him to come this cheap and especially on just a 1 year no risk deal. But, like he said in his presser, he wants a shot to win and he likes the football town aspect here too, so sounds like he prioritized that over money and length of deal.

If you go back and look at all the SB winners, they are not made up of all pro bowlers. Team make up is what matters most. How many pro bowlers on our OL? Yet its one of the best in football. How you put players on the field that fit your scheme, compliment the other players, etc all matters more than just adding talent. And Beane, while admittedly hasn't landed "elite" guys often, he is one of the best GM's in football at finding good to very good players, quality starters, quality depth, etc all over the draft, through affordable free agents, via trade, etc. The results are the highest scoring offense over the past 5 seasons, all time great offense this season, 2nd most wins to only KC over the past 5 years, 2 AFCCG's, 5 straight division titles, and a perennial SB contender. And we were a ref screw job away from getting to the SB this year. All coaches and GM has flaws, misses, etc. I feel like people talk about ours expecting perfection as the only acceptable thing.

This is just ones guys idea followed by all the reasons it won't happen.

This is a refreshing post and take...kudos to you, not enough of this happens around here. Setting your feelings about something aside to look at this on its own in a rational, unbiased, and fair light is a rare commodity on this board. Respect 🤜 🤛

The melt down in thread is wild. Beane is one of the 5 best GMs in the league and now people are melting down because a player he signed in which he could have no prior knowledge of, is suspended for something that happened prior to them signing here. Beane has still had an excellent offseason. Larry and his 1 year contract suddenly missing 6 unexpected games doesn’t change that.

First off, Beane only knew about one...having the other come out after the fact is no fault of Beanes, would have happened to any GM in the league that signed Larry. And Beane felt good enough about Hoecht and his situation to sign him anyway. Again, doing so not knowing that coincidentally a 2nd player was going to also face the same situation. So how exactly is it embarrassing? Beane made a calculated decision that based on what they knew about Hoecht and his potential suspension, that he still was worth signing. For a GM to be blindsided by a 2nd player in the same position, one he has no prior history with, not only wasn't even preventable by Beane, it literally is of no fault of his. Again, people are making way more drama out of this than it is. These are role player guys on top of all that, all is not lost, and clearly given Beane willfully signed one knowing this was coming.

So many drama queens in here talking like this is the end of the franchise.
